It's times like this that make me wish Batman, Superman, and the Justice League were real so they could kick the **** out of these ISIS *****es and cowards.

What Bane did in the stadium isn't even comparable to what just happened in France.
Well, obviously. The point we're making is terrorism, especially being done at big events where fans are gathered. Like a stadium.

doubt he'd be able to do much

Just when i was starting to get into the idea of a Wonder Woman movie based on who's directing, the locations they're shooting in, and those pics of Chris Pine.....i read that god awful rumor about Pine being Grandpa Trevor and then playing a dual role by playing his grandson who happens to look exactly like him.

Good lord, this universe better not make me facepalm. I love the trilogy with all my being but i still want good movies to come out of this Snyderverse.

Wonder Woman could be fantastic if they don't do dumb **** but now im not so sure. Especially with this + other rumors of a controlled (Bizarro-esque) Superman being the villain in Batman vs Superman.

I would love to skip all this nonsense and get to the Batfleck/Red Hood/Joker movie.

I'm already wary of the 'Snyderverse' after Man of Steel. It's one of the reasons why I am not at all excited for BvsS. I didn't hear the Bizarro controlled Superman rumor though. How much credibility has that got, or is it in the same vein as Letoker being Jason Todd?

It's more credible than the Joker being Todd or Affleck isn't playing Bruce rumors. I heard from somewhere that Doomsday is not even the villain in Batman vs Superman, and that they're doing their own take on Bizarro. If it's true, it wouldn't surprise me now that i think about the trailer. Maybe Superman is controlled and infected, and he really is the one trying to zap batman in that one shot. Maybe it's a dumb Superman vs Batman/Wonder Woman finale, with the destruction turned up to 11.

This Pine rumor is really bad though if it comes true.

My excitement for these team-ups are gone. But my excitement will never leave when it comes to a Batman movie. Directed by Affleck, it could be money. As long as they ground it more than the Snyder stuff, and keep the heroes away from the story.

To speak to what you guys were talking about a few days ago...

sadly, the current ISIS situation does remind me a lot of the LOS 2.0. Any form of extremism and jihadists are all equally evil wastes of oxygen, but what we're seeing from ISIS now feels like a new level or barbarism and viciousness in their tactics, yet still sophisticated. It's absolutely bone-chilling and devastating, and I can only hope the types of apocalyptic scenarios we see in movies like TDKR remain cautionary fiction, and the world is able to band together to defeat these sons of b***hes.

The only ray of light in this situation is that time and time again, these tragedies prove that "a hero can be anyone". Like the guy who saved the pregnant lady who was hanging for dear life from the window after trying to flea the Bataclan. Or just read this survivor's account. It's absolutely bone-chilling, but at the same time it really does give you faith in humanity. I'm sure there are countless stories like this.

I know this isn't really the thread for it, but meh...we've been using this thread for general discussion for a while. Stay safe everyone.

How does Zod's blood end up making bizarro Henry Cavil?

I'm willing to bet good money via Paypal that the villain or threat of BvS is not "dumb Superman" or a mind-controlled Superman.

I'd be shocked if the Trevor thing was true, considering it comes from the guy who said Karen Fukuhara was going to be Plastique, Jim Parrack's Deathstroke and Ike Barinholtz was Hugo Strange. Him saying it is almost more support that it's not true.

I love the soundtrack to this trilogy.
Why do we Fall is terrific with the scene it was on

0:28-1:29 is the part where I adored this theme.

In regards to the ISIS attack being similar to Bane's, I think it shows yet again what I've pointed out several times - Gotham City is the embodiment of all the atrocities that exist here in the real world, even moreso than Marvel's New York.

I would argue it's one of the top reasons for Batman's popularity. I only wish more writers would realize that and take advantage of it.

Well, Marvel's New York has quite a bit of range. It can go from the fantastical, over the top war zone of Loki's attempted takeover, or the down and dirty, gritty sex trafficking rings of Hell's Kitchen.

They're already stuffing the Superman sequel with other heroes, so it wouldn't be a shock if Batman's first solo in the DCU features another DC hero or two. They're determined to try and keep up with the Marvel competition. Emphasis on the word try. So far they only have MOS to show for it, and it's a weak start.

I was referring more to social commentary potential. Gotham City very much outclasses Marvel's New York in that department IMO.

Even in the case of something like Daredevil, you still have more boundaries to work around since Hell's Kitchen is real. With Gotham you can exaggerate more the degree of a real life problem as part of your overall point.

I see. But Marvel's Hell's Kitchen is nothing like the gentrified, sanitized Hell's Kitchen of real life. Apparently the attack on New York left it just as gritty and crime infested as Miller's 80's Hell's Kitchen.

What about Marvel's Washington? They had some social commentary in TWS, and I imagine, more to come in Civil War as well.

That's kinda the problem with it. You either have to suspend your disbelief or contrive a reason for why things are the way they are. You don't have that with Gotham City.

My go-to example is always Year One. Miller created a world where the problems in our own existed to such extremes that there was no way anyone could argue against the importance of Batman. If he depicted New York in that light people would feel he was exaggerating the extent of the problems to justify vigilantism.

Excuse me, jihadists are not monsters, cause jihad is pulling the effort to fend off the terror caused by vile assailants.
What ISIS and AlQaeda do is not being jihadists, they just use the word to justify their terrorism and gain sympathizers and supporters they don't deserve.

Between Batman and the League of Shadow, Batman is the jihadist one.
