What tension does that elicit? Even the latest trailer makes it clear that Batman is the loser. Supes is just humoring the poor guy. "If I wanted it, you would be dead already".

It doesn't really make anything clear about the Bats and Supes fight. He could be saying that in the first seconds of the fight after he knocks Batman down a few times. We don't know how the fight progresses, what tricks Batman has up his sleeve (I'm sure he has many), or whether or not he eventually gains the upper hand. We also don't know how exactly the fight ends.

One thing that I am thankful for in terms of the marketing of this film is that they've really held back on giving much away about their big fight, which is sure to be a fairly lengthy and awesome sequence. We've barely seen any of their fight, outside of a few shots. We obviously know they won't kill each other, but no one thought that would be the case, and there's still a lot to enjoy in the theater watching the film itself.

Fantastic. :funny:

It's not just that line, Alfred reminds him that it's suicide; Zack Snyder himself said the exoskeleton is only to stall, not win. Everything points to Batman losing by a landslide. Superman was pleading Batman to 'stay down!', meaning the battle was likely going on for a while, also denoting annoyance by Supes in the same way a tiger is annoyed by a persistent bug: the charade was about to be over.

And I doubt any tricks Batman has up his sleeve would aid any more than add to the aforementioned annoyance. Also, the very nature of Batman's beef with Supes points to this bout being a losing one for him. Because Batman is prepared to kill Superman. If he got the upper hand as you claim, why is Superman alive? Don't tell me Superman reasons for his life. Only a dominating victory by Superman will snap Batman out of his xenophobia.

I believe in the comics Batman almost always uses the kryptonite he keeps on him to take down Superman if need be.

I don't believe Kryptonite will be introduced into this universe (yet at least), so I can't see Batman doing anything that could put Superman down for any real extended period?

And it's also been confirmed that Batman's armour is laced with it, as well as his spear.

That doesn't change anything. A weak Superman is still too much for Batman. Otherwise Snyder would not say that the exosuit is only for stalling and survival.

I didn't say it did, I said that there's Kryptonite in this universe and that Batman will use it.

So i was talking to a friend of mine, and he's pretty annoyed that they ruined the final act with the reveal of Doomsday and the Trinity teaming up. It ruins the stakes of the Batman/Superman fight because they both look kinda happy (joking around), healthy, fresh and ready to go at the end there. So we know that Superman doesn't injure Batman real bad or Bats doesn't take Superman down with kryptonite, causing serious injuries, even if temporary. It just ruins the 'title', and makes it more about the 'Dawn of Justice' part of it all. As in, "how are they going to defeat this giant creature?". Now, that's the only suspenseful thing, and it's quite a boring question if you ask me.

I am still pretty confident Snyder will go all out on the final battle and make it a challenge for the Trinity (and Aquaman) to take down Doomsday. Unlike the Chitaury and Ultron drones, Loki/Ultron in Avengers.

I was looking forward to seeing a superhero movie about two heroes fighting, where there isn't really a badguy, just as it was in the climax of Dark Knight Returns. A battle of ideology rather than good vs. evil. Throwing Doomsday and the trinity in there muddles and upends that idea. Oh well.

But think of the unending destruction and CGI and fighting at the last 45 minutes of the movie. It's gonna be so exciting.

Lol poor Zack. Seems like the nicest most genuine dude, but he does make himself an easy target sometimes too. But hey, you know he loves what he does so you can't call him inauthentic.

Just because they are getting along at the end doesn't mean they don't **** each other up in their fight.

Lex ****ed Superman up in SR pretty bad with the kryptonite but superman recovered quickly. So Batman may do something similar and Superman recovers before the final act. And there is no way Batman was ever going to have a heart attack or end up with a broken back or similar injury in this film. Your friend was expecting too much. Batman was never going to be injured that severely by Superman.

He puts passion into it. I imagine his sets are pretty fun. Press too. But most of the time, im not sure if he knows what he's doing. He does action for the sake of action, not to push the characters forward. Something George Miller did very well in Fury Road. Something Nolan focuses on, even if the actual action ends up being rougher than the slick fights that we get with Zack.

He also uses handheld for scenes when it doesn't make a lick of sense to do so. Nolan for example uses it for thematic purposes. You can see him using it as a way to show a group of people/guests caught off guard. It shows unpredictability. Then he moves away from handheld when it's not needed. Snyder is only using it for a cool factor. It's like he's in college and always making his first shorts, doing it because it's "a cool shot". The most baffling was when he did that closeup + quick shots of the coffee being poured and the door knob after the door is shut. Like...what? :funny:

He doesn't understand why the great filmmakers do these types of shots. It's like he's just trying to imitate them nowadays to compensate or something. It's kinda funny and cute.

That part was not my friend, that was me adding my own two cents to what he saying.

That's the problem, we should expect a lot from a movie. Rules should be broken these days, and everyone is starting to play it really safe ever since Marvel started delivering Avengers movies. All the studios care about now is making bank on the superhero teams, setting up Justice League, being true to the comics. It's not about offering something different.

Why can't Batman be injured, have a heart attack, or Superman gets injured? Why not? Im pretty sure i know the reason, and it has to do with the 'Dawn of Justice' part. They needed to get the Trinity in there to team-up so they can sell the toys, set up the big superhero team-up. Why else? It tosses away the importance of "Batman vs Superman" and the questions "who would come out on top? will somebody die? will one of them be thrown in the hospital?". Then suddenly we see Batman and Superman friends, making jokes, forming a team. It's like "K. Tension..all gone now..".

It turns this movie into a trailer for Justice League.

Nobody needs to break any rules because people are ok with watching the same movie over and over again. That's why studios rarely break rules. They don't need to take that risk. People aren't demanding it. You go over the BvS boarda and you will see that 99% of the fans are perfectly ok with getting the type of movie we have been getting until now.

Yup. And it's quite sad. Hey, there's a part of me that's thinking "Batman and Superman is enough for me to buy a ticket and be entertained", but at the same time i want to see something different from the Marvel movies. It's not just darker visuals or the odd serious scene. I mean story, the way they form the Justice League, use of villain. I want some rules to be broken instead of a repeat. Ill be happy if i walk out of this movie like wow, they fooled us with the marketing.

Which movie was this?

So Snyder did something different with his camera work in a few shots in Man of Steel. He did something different and still copped it from fans.
