Didn't what? And I don't know about everywhere else but X1 has never been sold out in any shops I've looked at. When you have a very similar competitor in a market where purchases are made years apart being massively oversubscribed and sold out by a long way means you've underpriced as you could still have sold out for $10 extra per unit for eg and more likely in the PS4's case $50 or even $100 extra. After the initial demand/supply mismatch after the 1st 10m or so consoles they could move to $400 and still maintain their competitive position having banked an extra billion or half billion dollars (a massive amount to a company that is Sony's (current) size).but they didn't though. they just stayed sold out just like every new console does at the beginning of a generation. as far as sony pricing the Ps4 way cheaper than they needed to, essentially the Ps4 and the xbone are the same, the Ps4 has slightly better hardware that equates to overall 50% more raw computing power, but if the difference was that drastic we would see bigger differences in practice.
Most multiplat games run better on the Ps4 but lately with the parity issues and what not things are much more even, and Ps4 exclusives (aside from what we've seen in the Uc4 trailer) don't look substantially better than xbone exclusives.
ah, i don't even know why i'm rambling about this crap now
However the MCC does I don't see its impact being anywhere near that of Halo 5 next year. IF it lives up to all the potential, I think it will be by far the biggest system mover of this gen so far.I think Halo will sell Xboes (the Beta for 5 alone will) and I believe GTAV will sell better on the One. PS4 bundle or not. Destiny was more or less marketed as a Sony game... And the single game by itself sold more on the One.

However if they are more interested in taking sales from potential X1 owners on the fence that's a different strategy...chasing market share and rank ahead of profit. Sony's strategy has cost them profit margin on every console sold and if they could have supplied more during the initial period they might have been able to take full advantage but as it stands those who couldn't get hold of them due to supply reasons now face a situation where the competitior has had time to respond and the decision to go PS4 is not as clearcut as it was at that time.
Yeah I was saying I thought they went with too competitive a launch price. At $450 for eg I think they would have still totally sold out. Once the supply shortages were gone they could drop to $400 (or even lower if they wanted to compete harder with the extra breathing room the earlier proift would have given them). In the US yes they were probably all about the install base over profit as they wanted to be no.1 there as well as everywhere else this gen. But I don't know if Sony the company can afford to sacrifice that much profit so readily when the cash could be needed at any time to shore up other divisions. Now is the time when they actually do need to be competitive on price (rather than launch).they didn't raise the price because their stock was low. and i think at this point they are interested in getting as many consumers as possible and that includes swaying potention xbone owners. so hey iceman, wat do you think will happen this christmas?
Good point actually. The only reason I (and many others) bought Bulletstorm was for the Gears 3 beta. Although I liked the game anyway, just would never have paid full price for it.No, but I think a LOT of people will buy an Xbox for the beta that comes out just after Christmas. Crackdown only sold because of the Halo 3 beta. Sure it was a fun game but NO ONE bought it because they wanted to play Crackdown. I was working at gamestop at the time, lol
I'd just keep it on instant on. I don't think Energy Saving will do much saving of energy to make it matter...
How are you liking the interface X Knight?
I love it a lot more then the 360 interface, it's hard to even navigate on my 360 anymore, since i'm so used to my X1
I like it overall. takes a bit to get used to it, but it's not so bad. I don't seem to have a hard time navigating to where I want to go.
I've had a few "hiccups" or freezes, but so far nothing major.
of course, I haven't really gone in and used a whole lot of features yet. actual gaming will start Tues.
but, on the surface level, I do like the interface.
That's good to hear. Glad we got an another member on team Xbone.
Watch out for that gloss finish btw on the top and front, you will scratch it by even thinking about it. Even microfibre scratches it.
Also, what are you getting on tuesday? I'm getting Dragon Age and GTA 5, all of course for the bone.
t:really??
idk......I guess I just prefer if I'm not using a machine to just turn it off.....lol.
I've had mine on instant on since launch. It just sleeps but downloads patches and updates without you having to do it.. And with all the patches incoming....
i think the placement of the ds4's triggers are a little too slanted. the xbone controller is superior in every way except i think its bumpers suck.I'm pretty content with the Xbone controller. Though I do wish it had a headphone jack.
I always liked the Xbox 360 controller, so it didn't feel like a big upgrade like going from the DS3 to DS4.
The DS4 is probably the best controller I ever played with. Such an improvement in every way, except for the battery. That was really a problem.
