So, you can actually stream games you buy from the Xbox store to anything with the app? That is pretty cool sounding. Not something I personally would use, but still, pretty interesting stuff.
did they say or show if Windows 10 will bring a new UI to the X1?
There wont be a new UI for the X1 until MS changes all of the UI's for all their devices. They are going for one unified look across all their platforms.
so, presumably, when Windows 10 is released, then the X1 UI will be changed to reflect the new Windows 10 look, right?
I'd assume that's what will happen, especially if they want one unified look across platforms.
and hopefully, integration of Windows 10 into the X1 will go beyond just looks and actually improve the functionality of the UI as a whole.
well, from what I've seen of 10, it does seem they are moving away from the "tile centric" format of 8.
that being said, I didn't all that mind the tile format of X1's UI. I'd rather them, say, speed up the install times, than change the UI, if I had to choose priorities of what to fix.
Yea, if one goes, they'll all go to an extent. This "One" title they are labeling everything has a meaning.
Love of potential in all this, hope they can make it work.
Oh boy, here we go again.![]()

While the hologram things looks and sounds cool on paper, I am kind of getting Kinect flashbacks in the sense that a lot of insanely, sci-fi like ideas were presented, but never really panned out. Like that AI thing that was shown in the earlier stages, with the boy responding (allegedly) totally unscripted responses. Kinect is a pretty nifty device, but I don't think a lot of the promises about it really panned out. So, I'll put this as a wait and see what it ends up actually looking like. I'm not sure the practical uses of it, either, really.
Like what?
I'm not 100% sure I would call those practical exactly, since most of that is kind of high-end stuff outside being walked through fixing something (which kind of sounds like a horrible idea), but actually, yeah, a lot of that good thinking, though.
