While I DID in fact witness a brief interview with Christopher Nolan related to his latest film INCEPTION - he DID let a few details slip about his 3rd Batman film. Not the title, however. I am pleased to inform you that "Purge of the Dark Knight" will not be the title - so you can rest easy. I was ecstatic of the news/details Nolan revealed today during an interview I attended at a company that will remain annonymous as well as my position. It's safe to say I was successfull with stirring up some action on these message boards. I cannot offer you a source as it was a live/in person offering from Mr. Nolan - take what you will I have nothing to gain here.

Here are the TRUE details about the third Batman film from Nolan himself:

Joker will make an appearance from "behind the walls." (Nolan's words) and that his presence will be greatly felt throughout the course of the film. A voice actor with "exceptional" similiarities to the tone and voice of Ledger's Joker has already been tested and cast.

There will be no love interest for Bruce Wayne.

Nolan's last words were exactly as followed -
"Where the last film portrayed a great detail of tragedy and mental stamina, the third will, or should be perceived as a foreboding act that The Dark Knight had just begun to explore."

Pure comedy gold right there.

I will admit, the first 30-40 minutes of The Dark Knight after the opening bank robbery was very inspirational (kudos to crimefighting, lock the bad guys up, Gotham City will purge all evil with Dent, Batman, and the cops). However, as soon as the news televised The Joker's interrogation with Bryan Douglas (fake Batman), the tone of the movie immediately changed for me. It got darker and darker as the movie went on.

How on Earth can the next Batman movie be anymore foreboding than the last 2 hours of The Dark Knight? Rachael's dead, Dent's dead, Batman is on the run, Joker is still alive but locked up. I can be wrong, but I personally can not see any other villian in the Batman mythos being more foreboding than The Joker. Maybe he is ordering hits and causing chaos behind bars with the help of others??!!!?!!!???? Uh no thanks, I have already seen Law Abiding Citizen and I thought it sucked.

The Brothers' Nolan and David Goyer needed that extra year to make the story even better than TDK since Ledger passed away. I'm sure other villains will be in the film and the role of The Joker might even be given to another actor (as you so claim). I just hope the story will be even better and put a nice capper on Nolan's Batman trilogy; if he wants to.

Nolan has managed to find a voice actor who can do an exact mimic of Heath's voice:
(a) Like that's a challenge, there'd be about a billion.
(b) Said voice actor would not even be needed until late 2011 or early 2012. If The Joker is not seen, the voice would just be added in post production.

Like I said, WB mandates a love interest because they believe it attracts the female crowd. And the third thing isn't even a coherent sentence. FAIL on every single level, unfortunately for him.

I still have to say that my favorite possible title is Black Dawn.

Since this will be the last film in Nolan's trilogy and TDK you had the line "the night is just darkness before the dawn," I think it would tie it all together nicely. The third film, I think, will be about Batman clearing his name and reestablishing his image as a hero, while ridding the city of its greatest threat. In the end, he'll be triumphant, and while Gotham is never going to be perfect... whatever Batman accomplishes in this film will be monumental and the "dawn" of a safer age in Gotham.

Also, its a nice nod to fans of Batman: Year One.
