Lol...

Let’s get this out of the way: the action scenes in this movie are very, very good. Every single fight between Superman and the Kryptonian Faora is brutal and that final fight with Zod is so intense it might grow hair on your chest.

:funny: Awesome

It appears that another top critic will be giving MOS a somewhat positive review. From James Berardinelli's twitter page:

In 2013, steel is stronger than iron, but only by the tiniest of margins...

:whatever:

Snippet from a fan review:

In 2006 Warner Brothers release Superman Return which resulted in disappointing box office records and disgruntled fans. Trust me when I say that Man of Steel is the Superman film we have been waiting for. It's the perfect combination of sci-fi, action, love and comic book lore. Where others have failed, Zack Snyder and his creative team have gotten it right. The result is not only the greatest Superman film ever to grace the screen but is now arguably one of the best superhero movies of all time.

Says the big spoiler is "Highly Controversial." Her theater applauded with only one person saying the spoiler was out of line.

Rex Reed had a rant on how the budget could have went to help combat cancer.... but with that logic.. you can say that with EVERY movie! :o

just with "every movie" ? you could say that about everything.

I could say : stop paying for TV or internet and donate your money to cure cancer....!

to athletes ... donate half your millions to cure cancer etc.

Thats no small feat considering IM has had 3 films, 4 if you count avengers, within the last few years.
RDJ has a built in fanbase and is practically critic proof.

Get real. These movies employ HUNDREDS of people. So, don't watch. Nobody really cares.

This is all I need to hear... :woot:

Some of us knew, or strongly suspected, that this film would be more like BB than TdK. A reboot always has trouble with fans of the previous films.
We'll get our TDK with the sequel.
This is a story they had to tell to get things moving.

Something fans dissapointed in the reaction should remember...

I was again recently watching a recording of the revised AFI greatest 100 American movies programme the organisation put out in 2007 and it's always forgotten that there are films on there contemporary audiences loved on release that got, for want of a better description, mixed to negative reviews from critics. BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID, FORREST GUMP, TITANIC, STAR WARS: A NEW HOPE not to mention a movie neither critics or mass audiences liked/loved on release in BLADE RUNNER were all represented.

I saw both GUMP and TITANIC respectively in the cinema 'back in the day(s)' after I'd read reviews for both that were far worse than any negatives being thrown at MOS and I sure as hell didn't let the pans cloud my enjoyment of both those movies. Nor should anyone here worried allow some of the reviews cloud their anticipation of MOS. So what if it's not getting TDK or even BB level reviews?

I checked and saw that Berardinelli gave IM III a pretty positive review (3 stars) :yay:. Perhaps its possible that MOS could still climb into the 70s with the RT rating and get certified fresh. *fingers crossed*.

Now we are talking... I'm sure MOS will have it's flaw and may not be a masterpiece but as long as Superman is Superman like in the comics and not Donnar's version and not a stalking father, or casing love... We have our-self the modern superman movie we all have been waiting for.

You know that's exactly what we're going to do now, right?

I thought about that. "Whatever you do, do not look down..." "Shrek...I'm lookin' down!"

It's pretty much what you'd expect over there.

Yeah. Just wait until they reboot Batman, it will make all this seem like a gathering of folks singing Kumbaya.

Rebooting Batman is a bad idea IMO. They'll never match Nolan in people's minds. It will be a disaster.

They're gonna have to if they want to build a cinematic DCU.

Have to admit, from the early, ecstatic screening reactions I was expecting the score to be a lot higher than this.

But still, I think it's enough that the Superman fans and scifi nerds seem to be liking it. And huge, action-heavy summer movies never seem to score that high with the critics anyway, so that's nothing new (the first Transformers was a HUGE audience pleaser, and it only got a 57%).

Yeah, I mean is it a surprise that Snyder seemingly made a movie for the fans?

I know it's a big problem. I think after the back story and everything was done in Batman they should just hire Bale to fill the role and make him get back into the action. I know right now they're ruling that out, but really if they want JL to be a success they need someone like Bale in the cast to do Batman justice. I feel like there was just so much development in TDK Trilogy to have to rehash it all again. It would be better to take advantage of it and move forward.

Critics will appreciate the Batman reboot if the movie is good. But the aggressive Nolan fans will have a crazy backlash, even the movie is as good or better than one of the installments in the trilogy.

Lets cross that bridge when we actually get to it. Need to get other characters right first before we even revisit Batman.

Nolan's Batman will get some serious backlash too once the reboot comes along. It already started when TDKR came out.
