I'll put it this way:

It's like painting a masterpiece and basing that on another painting. The second painting doesn't come out as well, but still resembles the other portrait. Is the next step to go back and redo the masterpiece?

I know it's a big problem. I think after the back story and everything was done in Batman they should just hire Bale to fill the role and make him get back into the action. I know right now they're ruling that out, but really if they want JL to be a success they need someone like Bale in the cast to do Batman justice. I feel like there was just so much development in TDK Trilogy to have to rehash it all again. It would be better to take advantage of it and move forward.

No thanks with Bale... Yes he was a good Brace Wayne but i hated his Batman voice. Also I'm sure WB wants a Batman more like the comics to team up with superman.

Nolan's Batman will get some serious backlash too once the reboot comes along. It already started when TDKR came out.

I guess Batman will return to having more humor so the critics will be happy. ;)

Good luck recasting The Joker. I can't imagine that.

Rebooting Batman is a bad idea IMO. They'll never match Nolan in people's minds. It will be a disaster.

They're gonna have to if they want to build a cinematic DCU.

Critics will appreciate the Batman reboot if the movie is good. But the aggressive Nolan fans will have a crazy backlash, even the movie is as good or better than one of the installments in the trilogy.
See. Just a mere mention of it triggers several responses.:woot:

is he on RT?

does anybody know of critics who reviewed MoS and are allowed to put their review on RT but didnt upload it yet?

Get real. These movies employ HUNDREDS of people. So, don't watch. Nobody really cares.

This is what has always bugged me about culture snobs who say "blockbusters are just wasted money!" - a big-budget film employs SO MANY people. It's all jobs, jobs, jobs.

Criticizing it being a summer blockbuster movie, a reboot, an origin movie, Clark being too serious, not having a full blown relationship with Lois.

Blah, I'm curious if the movie didn't end on an upbeat enough to make people realize this movie is meant to lead up to the Superman everyone knows.

Right on..

Plus, it's illogical to say that if they had stopped making all those blockbusters, they would have the money to cure cancer....

First of all, if they had poured that money into curing cancer, they'll have no cure for cancer, then they would have run out of money, end of story...

When a movie succeed, they take that money and make another... and that's how it goes on...

Just watched the movie here in the Philippines. WOW. Feel free to ask any questions. :3

I dunno?

It appears that another top critic will be giving MOS a somewhat positive review. From James Berardinelli's twitter page:

In 2013, steel is stronger than iron, but only by the tiniest of margins...

:whatever:

Actually James B is the only reviewer I check on a weekly basis.

He has pretty good taste in films and Ive seen ALOT of great movies based on his recommendation. I dont always agree with him, but I always check out his reviews.

He loves genre films, and enjoyed Iron man 3 quite a bit, so you should consider his comments to be very positive. His review isnt up yet though.

How did you like the movie? was the complaints from critics anything to worry?

is she on RT? i bet they will make this B- Review a rotten
The reviewers themselves decide if it's fresh or rotten. I don't think she's on there though.

Rotten Tomatoes is owned by Warner Bros by the way. Time to start the paranoid conspiracy theories!

I'm still a little confused how the film has an average score of 7/10 on RT yet the meter is only at 68%.

Grace Randolph...urgh, Marvel fangirl.

Harry Knowles (aka one of the worst reviewers in the world) has just called this "the best superhero movie he's ever seen"...he's usually pretty hyperbolic like that, but considering his love for what the MCU is doing, that's a pretty huge statement even from him.

sry you guys are right. The critics decide if its fresh or rotten. Forgot for a second.

waiting so many years for a great superman movie and then about 3 years for them to film and release MoS it hurts a little reading these negative reviews. But the positive ones and all the trailers and tv spots make me happy again :)

Well, actually I've always been hoping that this would be a one-shot for Zack Snyder, with a possible sequel attracting better talent. But who knows, maybe he'll prove me wrong and I'll like this enough to want him back in the director's chair.
