The Dark Knight Rises What should the final scene of the trilogy be?

I don't mind as long as it involves one if not all of these three things:
Batman,
Gordon,
Bat-signal.

A rooftop scene where Batman appears behind Gordon. The Dark Knight wants to introduce his new partener Robin. The problem is,the Boy Wonder crash lands thru the Bat-Signal...

Batman: Am I going to walk around and rip your ------- lights down, in the middle of an introduction? Then why the ---- are you walking right through? Ah-da-da-dah, like this in the background. What the ---- is it with you? What don't you ------- understand? You got any ------- idea about, hey, it's ------- distracting having somebody crashing the the bat signal in the middle of the ------- meeting? Give me a ------- answer! What don't you get about it?

Robin: I was looking at the light.

Batman: Ohhhhh, goooood for you. And how was it? I hope it was ------- good, because it's useless now, isn't it?

Robin: OK.

Batman: ----- sake man, you're amateur. Gordon, you got ------- something to say to this prick?

Gordon: I didn't see it happen.

Batman: Well, somebody should be ------- watching and keeping an eye on him.

Gordon: Fair enough.

Batman: It's the second time that he doesn't give a ---- about what is going on in front of the Commishiner, all right? I'm trying to ------- do an introduction here, and I am going "Why the ---- is Robin crashing in there? What is he doing there?" Do you understand my mind is not in the meeting,if you're doing that?

Robin: I absolutely apologise. I'm sorry, I did not mean anything by it.

Batman: Stay off the -------roof man. For ----- sake. Alright, let's go again.

Gordon: Let's just take a minute.

Batman: Let's not take a ------- minute, let's go again.
Batman: I'm going to ------- kick your ------- ass if you don't shut up for a second! All right?

Unknown voices: Batman,Batman. It's cool.

Batman: I'm going to go... Do you want me to ------- go trash your lights?
Do you want me to ------- trash 'em? Then why are you trashing my introducing you?

Robin:: I'm not trying to trash your intro.

Batman: You are trashing my intro
!
Robin: Batman, I was only...

Batman: You do it one more ------- time and I ain't walking on this roof if you're still hired. I'm ------- serious. You're a nice guy. You're a nice guy, but that don't ------- cut it when you're ------- around like this on roof.

Originally I had wanted a Batman: Dead End final scene, but that of course would undermine the theme of Batman rising. While I do agree with all who suggest a final scene between Gordon and Batman (I suggested one such scene myself a few pages ago), I'm really hoping the dialogue gets to the heart of the matter and firms up the theme. By film's end Gotham "wreckage" should be on par, perhaps probably worse, that N.O. after Katrina. It should be clear to us all that the city HAS to be rebuilt in some form. In addition, and probably the most crucial piece to the ending, The Batman's return should acknowledged and discussed, and Batman assures Gordon he is in it for the long haul...and he's not assuring Gordon in order to regain faith and trust, rather he is doing so because after suffering a back break and seeing his city destroyed, he still remains as hopeful as he did when he first started this journey. Remember, in Begins he told Gordon, "we CAN bring Gotham back." How powerful would it be to hear him reiterate those words after enduring hell?

Up until now, even with the best intentions Bruce was not ready for any of this, partly because he neverly truly understood the far reaching implications of his actions, let alone all of the variables that exist beyond his understanding of the criminal world. He is riddled with doubt and insecurity (understandably so) as he proceeds with a mission that seems more prepared for him than he for it. And as Ra's told him in Begins, "death does not wait...". Bruce is now keenly aware of what his life has become and he is now fully ready to embrace it and actually become the symbol he intended.

Flashback to the future. With Bruce Wayne as a retired Batman chilling out in Venice with Alfred. Gotham regards Batman as the legend who brought back the city from the hands of Bane and the hope makes Gotham a better place for the time being...

Then, 15 years later a The Dark Knight Returns inspired movie from Nolan with Bale! :D

Ra's al Ghul, Thomas and Martha Wayne, and Rachel, all appear as ghosts, à la end of Return of the Jedi, while Bruce burns his cowl in a bonfire.

exactly then years later thomas can be replaced digitally with hayden christensen :oldrazz:

Batman, in suit, sitting on a toilet. He looks like he's been crying, his black eye makeup running down his face. He's cries into a digital receiver "Alfred, help me" and then growls "the darrrrrrrk knight. the daaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrkkkkkkkkkkkk knight" between sobs.

Batman and Gordon are on the rooftop with the bat signal. Now, refurbished and repaired, the signal represents Batman's rise from the ashes of imminent destruction with Gotham.

Gordon stands watchful, staring off into the distance at Gotham. The city, crippled but intact, begs for Batman's aid...even if it cannot embrace the bat.

A knock on the signal, replicating the scene from Batman Begins. The figure is Batman, cape wrapped around his body, representing his final transformation into the symbol he has striven to control, and flowing in the wind.

"You're late."

"Busy day. I see you've made some improvements."

Epic conversation ensues...

A hand is seen flipping a switch. The sky is lit up with the bat signal. All over the city, people stop and stare up in silence.

Batman standing up from his crouching position on top of a steep building, like a watchful protector. Signifying that he has risen - not just over the course of the film but literally in this scene. The end title card statement confirms it. Expressing that this is his City, and he’ll always be there to take on challengers. An immovable force standing firm, much like the last shot from the BTAS opening credits.

After developing a mutual respect for each other throughout the movie, by the end you can cut the tension between Batman and Bane with a knife. As they wrestle and rub against each other for the final battle Batman finds himself on top of Bane pinning his arms behind his head. The hulking Bane assumes submissive body language with his back and neck arched, pressing into Batmans waist. The look into each others eyes. Both still breathing heavily from the fight. Batman takes off Banes mask and it's just as he thought. His lips are amazing. Batman now bursting with desire presses him lips onto Banes. Bane does not reject.
After a long passionate kiss Batman lifts his head and says while looking into Banes eyes, "I finally found someone who understands me."

Bane now with tears in his eyes, "You..... complete ME."

Cue music

Ewww.

That's something straight out of a Schumacher Batman film. Change Bane with Catwoman and eliminate "hulking" and then we'll talk.

would be funny if at the end of TDKR they find a riddle lol

Bane screaming "I'm innocent Batman!" or something like like he does in the comic. "Chase me no more!"

I would like to see something like this at the end of the movie.

Gordon and Batman are on the roof of police headquarters, as the batsignal shines bright in the night sky. Gotham City's skyline is filled with smoldering buildings from the latest attack by the LOS. There are construction workers at many sites working around the clock to rebuild the city.

Gordon: You saved us all, but at what cost?

Batman: Gotham will rise from these ashes and be better than ever, but there is more work to do.

Gordon: So does that mean you are back for good?

Batman: I will be there when I am needed. But I can help in other ways.

Gordon smiles hinting to his knowledge of Batman's identity.

Gordon: You have inspired people, you know that? And not just here. There are reports from all over the country about men and women like you standing up and fighting for justice, and these are nothing like those guys we had here dressing up like you.

Gordon pulls out a folder filled with newspaper articles. You see one about a man in green with a power ring saving Coast city from destruction, one from Central City titled fastest man alive, one that talks about an Amazon princess stopping a group of terrorists. At the bottom of the stack you just see the top part of the front page of the Daily Planet, you can barely make out the word Super.

Gordon: If guys like you keep showing up at this rate, you may put guys like me out of work.

Batman: There will always be a need for men like you. I can't be everywhere at once. I know that now. I can't do this alone.

batman and Gordon look at each other with mutual respect.

Gordon's walky talky goes off.

Voice of detective: Commishoner Gordon. We just got word from Arkham The Joker has escaped with the help of his doctor, Dr. Harleen Quinzel ...

Batman and Gordon look at each other, both know they must go.

Gordon: (into his walky talky) Bullock pull the car around. i am on my way!

Gorodon turns to run down the stairs. he looks back for Batman.

Batman: Jim I never got the chance to thank you for what you have done for me.

Gordon: and you'll never have to. Now get to work, your city needs you.

Gordon runs down the stairs as Batman looks up into the sky at the batsignal before diving off the roof as his cape opens and helps him glide toward the camera..

Fade to black.

This. deffinitely.

The final scene of the movie should be Batman's grave which is built as a Batman statue for his funeral. (the body was disintergrated by Banes machine during the final battle). Then Gordon takes Blake aside and tells him that he must be the new Batman, and to protect his identity he must take the name Jean Paul Valley, He should also be more lethal to combat crime more effectively, Blake then leaves with Fox to get fitted with his new costume. As he leaves Blake says, "Ill need a partner, as Bane escalated this war so much. Theres a kid at the circus tonight I've got my eye on." Also seen walking away is Tate/Talia with a pregnant bump. "one day little Damian you will take his place". Bane himself now reformed watches the service from afar, hiding behine a tree, tears dripping down his mask. "Can you ever forgive me Batman". But then it is revealed. Banes' machine didn't kill Batman, it just shook up the atoms around him so much it transported him through space and time. Bruce is coming back.

I want the final words to be something like, "I am Batman." I thought that would be an amazing end to the trilogy.

Maybe while he's at his parents' grave...

That might happen, a scene at his parents grave, have it end how it all started.....
