The Dark Knight Rises What should the final scene of the trilogy be?

its gonna end with batman heading to metropolis to meet with superman

If this were a Marvel film I could see a reference to something like this shown post-credits...but I can't imagine Nolan doing it.

I don't think that would work too well. Alluding to the existence of a being whose very existence would change the world as we know it without any build-up would be jarring in any other capacity than a fan wank. Marvel can do this because they designed the MCU with their other characters existing within the single universe from its inception. The Nolanverse was explicitly designed excluding the other DC characters, so such a reference would be contradictory to its design and really add nothing to the story.

Agreed.

Bruce as an old man lies in bed....his eyes gently close.

Gordon and Batman on a rooftop.

Gordon: You've defeated Joker, and you've defeated Bane, but what about escalation?

Batman: Escalation? You mean it gets even worse?

Gordon: You get a Tumbler, they get several Tumblers. You get a Batpod, they steal it. And now you've got a puzzle-piece Batsuit... [pulls out photo] take this guy. Total wack-job. Calls himself "Crazy Quilt."

Batman: That's it, I'm retiring.

Amazing! :woot:

I want them somehow to use the words, "Everything is going to be all right", from Gordon the night of the Wayne's murder to be used in the final scene as a way to let Gordon in on Batman's identity while foreshadowing any new "threat" Gotham may face, will be overcome.

I like this idea, or some version of a conversation between Gordon and Batman that alludes to Gordon knowing who he is, and shows how great their friendship has evolved by facing these threats together.

I think it should be just like the Sopranos ending, and just cut right before something or other, just as a big **** you to all the speculation. :oldrazz:

Gordon: I never said "thank you"...they're going to make more sequels.

Batman: "You'll never have to...because I'm not coming back." (Christian Bale pulls off his cowl and walks off the set)

I remember after Batman Begins was released, someone suggested that everyone who died in the course of the trilogy take a bow, à la the original ending of American Psycho.

I have a feeling that may be done DURING the movie, when Gordon is in bed and is talking to Bruce/Batman and says "the Batman must come back" and you hear the reply "what if he can't?". I think during that conversation or briefly before it, Gordon finds out who Batman is.

I just hope and pray they don't do the SHIELD/Government agency that knows everything angle. They did it in the 2nd Zorro film and basically we're like "yeah we've known you been Zorro, and allowed you to do it".

He's wearing a ski mask.

I'd love the iconic scene where Batman chooses to take his mask off and show Gordon who he really is (because he trusts Gordon), and Gordon refuses to look. He tells Batman to put the mask back on. :hrt:
Such a great moment where we see how special this relationship is.

The plot of TDKR is wrapped up, we think we're ready for credits, when suddenly:

SIX MONTHS LATER

flashes on the screen for a brief moment.

We open with a shot of an old tall brick apartment building in Gotham City.

CUT TO:

THE JOKER, from a distance, facing away from camera, as we look below to see him running down flight after flight of stairs, laughing maniacally as a fire alarm is sounding.

We pan up to: A NAKED BRUCE WAYNE wielding A CHAINSAW. WAYNE makes visual contact with THE JOKER, steadily aims the chainsaw and suddenly DROPS the chainsaw down the middle of the stairwell, where IT LANDS DIRECTLY ONTO THE JOKER'S UPPER BODY, MESSILY KILLING HIM.

FLASH CUT TO A GRINNING, HOPPING, FIST-PUMPING, CHEERING Bruce Wayne at the top of the stairs.

CREDITS.

;)

VOICE OVER: Ra's: You have to be come...MORE than just a man...in the mind of your opponent.

I think the final scene should be Batman stalking a random mob boss, then when he drops down, the mob boss is like 'Do you know who I am? Who the Hell do you think you are? Then just 'I'm Batman' and the cape engulfs the scream as you hear the mob boss screaming.

End!

batman should be shot and killed to show that you can't take the law into your own hands. life lesson exit, lol.

After developing a mutual respect for each other throughout the movie, by the end you can cut the tension between Batman and Bane with a knife. As they wrestle and rub against each other for the final battle Batman finds himself on top of Bane pinning his arms behind his head. The hulking Bane assumes submissive body language with his back and neck arched, pressing into Batmans waist. The look into each others eyes. Both still breathing heavily from the fight. Batman takes off Banes mask and it's just as he thought. His lips are amazing. Batman now bursting with desire presses him lips onto Banes. Bane does not reject.
After a long passionate kiss Batman lifts his head and says while looking into Banes eyes, "I finally found someone who understands me."

Bane now with tears in his eyes, "You..... complete ME."

Cue music

Selina, don't just stare at it--eat it.

A Christopher Nolan film

The final scene should be set in space, and have the camera pan across the Earth's horizon whilst the sun slowly emerges from behind it. Batman flies into view, looking down at the Earth, and then slowly grins as he flies towards - and beyond - the camera. Cut to the music.

What, it's been done before?!? Sorry :(
