The Dark Knight Rises What should the final scene of the trilogy be?

If this happened I think I would pretty much lose it in the theater and pass out for shock and awe. It would be incredible.

the cool thing is- it could be accomplished believably without ledger. and a great way to end- that their fight endures.

After everyone is defeated and it seems like it's the end of the movie, word breaks that the Joker has escaped from Arkham. To echo his words "we're gonna do this forever".

just thinking about it give me chills, i hope they do something like that

Start out with Batman standing over his parents grave w/o his mask on,"while some epic speech is voiced over from Gordo/Bruce", then cut to Batman standing/kneeling ontop of Wayne building, with moon in the backround and light breeze blowing his cape; then Bat Signal comes on and u see Batman give a smirk to camera and then jumps off building.

Credits role and you get a special scene..Batman arriving to the disturbance and you see an image of someone familiar and you hear him say "Lets put a smile on your Face".....end

I don't know exactly how I'd end the trilogy. But I think it should be something with Batman and Gordon, to keep the theme from the previous two films going.

Batman appears to die in Gotham. At the end, we see he's taken over the League of Shadows and retooling it to his design.

The top of Gotham MCU

Gordon standing by the bat-signal, staring off into the skyline. Without seeing or hearing anything, he turns, having "felt" his guest arrive.

Gordon: It might take years to clean up all of this mess...to help these people. FEMA, National Guard, we need everybody. They tore this city down and apart. Areas are just destitute...so much lost...I don't think the city is ready for anymore. It can't handle...

Batman: Death does not wait for you to be ready, but we stand...all of us...we still stand...we rise. We took the city back and we'll build it again...together.

Gordon smirks

Gordon: We stand, yes, and we'll build it because of you. You came back.

Batman: We were in this together...and always will be.

Honestly, I feel I missing something here. Do they shake hands? Does Batman just jump off the rooftop and fly away? I don't know...

Thanks. :) Bit inspired by the ending of DKR comic with the Sons of the Bat, cliche as the justification may sound (since it gets mentioned quite a bit).

I like this. No signal, just him watching over the city.

I would love for the ending of the trilogy to end this way.

-All the events of TDKR come to a close, Gotham is finally safe. Slow shots of the aftermath of all that has happened due to Bane and the LOS. Last shot of Batman, tired, bruised, exhausted after the final battle. Camera pans away from him and into the sky. Screen fades to black.

(If any other loose ends need to be tied, it happens at this point, similar to the scene in BB where Bruce stands over the remains of the manor with Rachel)

Screen fades back in, its night time and the first shot is of a newspaper at a newspaper stand with the headlines stating something along the lines of "1 year after [BLACKOUT]Gotham Rogues stadium Massacre. Has the city begun to recover?[/BLACKOUT]" and then maybe below that a different headline that states "Gotham crime continues to drop" (Just to allow the audience to know that a year has passed and that the condition of the city has changed to a positive thus far)

The camera starts to pan up the buildings of the city to the top of a high rise, camera swings around to the other side of the building where you see Batman perched atop, calmly surveilling the city. He has a new suit on, Its a clothed outfit, similar to the one in the picture above^. (With crime down, and the crazies no longer running the streets, he has no need for the extra armor)

Suddenly the Batsignal goes off in the far sky. Batman stands up, heroic music goes off, and he jumps off, midway through his fall, he equips his cape, it switches to glider mode and batmans last shot is as he rises in the air, past the view of the camera, and all we're left seeing is the signal in the sky.

Screen turns black and the word "The Dark knight Rises" is on the screen.

Credits roll--

Also, It'd be cool to have Gordon Narrate what the dark knight has done to Gotham, similar to how TDKR ended as all the happens, up till the point of where Batman jumps off the high rise.

I think this Would be a great way to end the trilogy, and even though I don't agree with a clothed/spandex suit in the movie-verse, It would be cool to have at least one shot of that at the end, and leave the rest of what happens thereafter to our imagination. I'm sure that would at least please the fanboys who complain about Nolan's batsuits.

Bane is dying

The snow is falling

Talia is crying

Selina says nothing

Then Batman asks Bane:

- "what is your real name?"

- " it's ..."

- " ... wait for it ..."

- "... almost there ..."

- " ... Ben ... "

something like this would be EPIC! starts at around :35

Hmm, I remember something similar in a movie I saw once. Can't put my finger on it...

Oh yeah, BATMAN!

No matter how hard Nolan tries, he'll NEVER be able to top that!

Disagree. Nolan has already topped it.
P.S.: Video Fixed

I like the idea of Bruce having a heart to heart with Selina, when over the police scanner news of the Joker's escape hits. Selina, with a sad smile, tells him to go. Last shot is of Batman, on the batpod, riding to off after him.

The lobster from hell (Batwing) does a vertical take off from the ground. We get a close up of the cockpit, Batman winks and we fade to the title card - THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. Hahaa.

This so needs to a be an alternative ending on the DVD.

The one good thing about the ending to TDK is when Gordon's kid calls out to Batman. In fact, both of Nolan's films have been variations on the end of Batman: Year One. Nothing can touch Burton because that is PURE BATMAN!

Kind of hard to take it seriously after the Joker was just shown to be a chicken and murdered. Not very Batman. :o

Not really a final scene, but I want this to happen close to the end of The Dark Knight Rises.

And don't flame me if I miss a word or anything, haha.

Batman Begins -

Gordon: "I never did thank you."

Batman: "And you'll never have to."

The Dark Knight -

Gordon: "Thank you."

Batman: "You don't have to thank me."

Gordon: "Yes I do."

The Dark Knight Rises -

I want Batman to end up thanking Gordon as I think Gordon will play a huge significance in the film as well as being a reason for why Bruce will don the suit once again and as much as it already seems like this series will be going full circle, I think Batman thanking Gordon would be a very nice touch.
