Geez, and here I always believed that studios were stingy with giving out money. Apparently it dont take much to convince the execs to spend a boat load.

Suicide squad could be a surprise hit like guardians of the galaxy

Yeeeaah... but you shouldn't really budget a movie on the off-chance that it's a surprise hit. They should have given it a Deadpool sized budget, but I'm not sure that would have even covered the cast.

WB banked on BVS being a success no matter what and now they're paying the price for it - literally. If it wasn't for Deadpool's success Fox would be in a similar position.

That's an exaggeration.

I now believe that this movie will not reach to 600M.

Best case now is 550M.

EXACTLY from at what point of time in the comics? Storm has ranged from everything between a zero-personality sap and Claremonts weird bondage/dominated Mistress. Personally I love the 90s animated speech giving version; she was awesome then.

I think this is one of the biggest issues the movies will always have; everyone's got such strong connections to different time periods of the comics/media that everyone seems to has such strong ideas of what they think the movie should be. IF the film doesn't match whatever ideal they've made up over the years in their head people will always be disappointed.

Even if they added "Comic accurate costumes" they'd be the wrong costumes to a lot of people.

I disagree Storm indeed has a personality and characteristics that define her and that most stand out with fans. Regardless of the many writers who dropped the ball with her afterwards. Claremont did wonders with Storm in no way was she a dominatrix. The people wouldn't be disappointed if she or the other were represented correctly and yes there is a correct way, because I can't go to much on the Apocalypse version because it was so small but in OT that was just like a completely different version of a woman with whit hair who conjured the elements. I'm hoping in the future they continue to get these character stats correct.

Clearly you're not Warner Brothers, since they restructured how they produce their DC movies after it's performance.

Did I say I was WB regardless it's not bad enough for a meltdown. Those still are good numbers may not be great but yes there good. If they hated it so much they would have fired the director which isn't happening. Of course there is always room to grow with these franchises and to make a better movie next time from mistakes.

From what I understood from the BvS sub-forum, Snyder is so tight with a contract, that even if they wanted to, they can't fire him. Because they have to pay him either way.

At least he is not a total imbecile where it counts.

That must be nice he found a sure fire way to get paid regardless he left no loopholes open, wow.

If it finishes below $600m everyone in the poll will have been wrong. :woot:

And I thought it would at least make 600 million ww guess I was wrong.

The fact that the poll started on $600m says a lot about how expectations for blockbuster movies have changed over the years too.

Worldwide, DOFP is the only X-Men movie to have broken past $500m so none of the others at all would have made the cut. Even with ticket inflation taken into account, none of the other movies reach $600mil

How about a Storm movie? Directed by someone who is passionate and whose vision is to bring the character exactly as it is in the comics to the screen.

They'd have a female-led solo film which for an IP ripe with great female characters have been non-existent. Plus they'd redeem themselves in the eyes of Storm fans (if they get it right).

I don't get a feeling Shipp was disliked in the role, more like Storm didn't linger in people's minds post-viewing, which is the filmmakers fault. Getting her white hair from Apocalypse (regardless if he "advanced" her mutation) is pretty much beyond repair though...

I have to ask, why is it beyond repair? Her white hair came when her powers developed more. Apoc just sped up that process and that's why her hair turned white pretty much instantly. All that future development was simply done in a few moments.

Yeah Storm always had white hair in the comics. Now one might argue this is not the comics but just to be clear.

In fact her hair and eye color are more magically based than genetically.
