I wonder when will they reveal the date for the new X-Men movie.
Probably 2019 or 2020 at this point

The general audience doesn't give a damn about the original cast coming back other than Hugh Jackman. These are iconic characters that can be played by any actor and the audience will go see it as long as the writing, acting and characterizations are on point.
It's time to move on - let the newer, young cast breath some much needed life into this franchise from here instead of moving backwards. Move on, drop Singer and get a new creative team for the next movie.

I'm desagree about the new teen versions,People aren't tired because of the new characters and they aren't tired because of the new young actors either. People are tired because we've gotten the same storylines, character beats, character focus etc. repeated over and over, there was nothing new in Apocalypse. So your idea of putting new energy into this franchise is to bring back the original cast that hasn't led a movie together since 2006?! LOLOL
In fact, the younger characters are the ones getting the most consistent praise. Why? Because they are exactly what this franchise needs. Turner, McPhee, Sheridan and Shipp - they injected something new, young, fresh, fun and a little playful to a franchise that has been a little dour and stuck in a rut. There's excitement there with them because it's a chance to do something new with those characters that's radically different from what we've gotten before.
We're only going to get that though if we get a new creative team. These actors and those characters have so much potential for story to tell.
I'm desagree about the new teen versions,
they lack the charisma of the original cast.
I mean, regardless of public opinion, at this point it's pretty obvious the OT cast is done due to how explicitly they've dated all of the characters. They're not going to do a movie where Deadpool teams up with senior citizens. It's time to let go of the past and embrace the...hm...past?
don't you all think it's time for the x-men movies to rest for a while?
It wasn't a flop just its not performing to its best, Which is not because of the new cast as was stated before that's for other reasons entirely as to why the movie is doing what it is. It has ZERO to do with the OT not being present contrary as to what you and psylockecolossus may think. If it was an overall good movie and the characters were utilized correctly it would have certainly done leaps and bounds better, let's not reach here.

lol I love it ^That's just an impossible claim to make. First Class experienced a massive boost when the OG cast came aboard for DOFP, and ticket sales took a dip when they left for Apocalypse. Correlation isn't causation in every case but this shouldn't be immediately dismissed.
I don't understand your posts sometimes. You're championing Bryan Singer before the film, saying it'll make tons of money and I know you love the X-Men Franchise.
Now you've been saying Singer needs to go and the X-Men need a rest?
It's cool you feel this way, just wondering where the complete 180 degree change of opinion came from?
I don't entirely agree. I think the original team would have done better here and in some markets, but I don't think the box office drop is all due to the First Class crew. Sequels are falling in general. Stark Trek did 257, then STID did similarly to DOFP, 228. Box Office Pro sees Star Trek Beyond making 159M. We'll have to see how Star Trek Beyond does, but the fall seems to suggest broad forces at play. Sequels have fallen across the board.
"Before we blame franchise fatigue as the catalyst for paltry Memorial Day openings, we need to also acknowledge the overall downward trend in openings for sequels this year. It’s been rampant across all genres including Ride Along 2, The Divergent Series: Allegiant." --Deadline
That stuff seems to imply that while the OT may have done better, other things are happening too, and a sequel with them would have faced those difficulties as well.
If Fox made a sequel with the OT with little Wolverine that had mixed/weak review, so-so WOM, and a drop off like other franchises, they might have concluded that the OT is not the way to go. I would also imagine that the press might have been down on the choice to use the OT if they did X5 instead of XMA and it had mixed reviews. With Alice, TMNT, etc, X-Men might not have gotten much scrutiny.
But, using the OT to mixed reception after DOFP may have also affect how people see the franchise's future. That is bad now. Lots of calls for change, and change needs to happen. But notices have been positive for the young X-Men characters. If it had been weakly reviewed with subpar WOM, people might be even more down on the franchise and future installments. Given the last movie with the OT alone was X3, headlining another poorly received team movie may have tainted them.
Shed a tear for what X4 could have been.
The young, at the time, cast would have taken over.
The old ones would be mentoring. Storm in charge of the school with Beast popping in from time to time.
Wolverine would obviously be mia.
The "cure" is apparently temporary. Maybe throw in a plot point in which it somehow enhanced them.
