I'm on episode 9 of DD and enjoying it, but felt I was much more invested in Season 1 for some reason.

I think I enjoyed S2 more, but not by much. Both are ridiculously amazing seasons.

If I had to rate them:

S1: 9/10
S2: 9.2/10

Im on episode 3 season 1, im iffy on it right now, but i can sense it's going to pick up.

I can't wait to lurk in the bats/supes threads. I dont necessarily trust the RT critics with this movie. Maybe they have an issue with Snyder. But i've been hearing (add Jett to this list) that's it's just OK. That the Batman parts are great, and Affleck nails it, but that he's unlikeable for most of it and reaaally dark. Im not sure if i mind that right now to be honest. If he has an arc.

Im hearing the "dawn of justice" parts seem forced in there (opposite of what Shape said). And that it's a mess besides some solid performances/visuals.

My curiosity got the better of me. I just poked my head into the Rotten Tomatoes thread. I saw an ocean of all capital letter posts, Marvel bias accusations, heaps of eye rolling smileys, I even saw some moderators involved backing the side of the critics.

Im interested in the mixed feelings about the inclusion of Wonder Woman/JL nuggets. Seems like some people loved that, thought it was organic. Some think it's really forced and takes away from the movie.

IF Zack can't get this right, making a mess out of a simple Batman/Superman story, then what kind of a friggin mess will Justice League be? Holy ****.

I wouldn't be surprised if i walk out of the cinema liking the movie or finding it average. I dont want to think about hating it. Im seeing it Saturday i think. I don't have tickets yet. But ill give this movie the benefit of the doubt and assume the critics are exaggerating. If they can sit there and kiss Marvels ass almost every time, then maybe just maybe they don't know what the hell they're talking about with DC characters. Maybe they're sick of darkness in superhero movies. I tend to love that style. Or could it be that Snyder doesn't know how to craft a good story with proper character development?? Man, at least this is interesting! Makes me excited to see it.

Here's something from one review.

There are a few brilliantly realized moments, the acting is mostly strong despite the weak script (Affleck and Cavill are both superb—Affleck unexpectedly so), and there's enough mythic raw material sunk deep in every scene that you can piece together a classic in your mind if you're feeling charitable; but if you aren't, “Batman v. Superman” will seem like a missed opportunity. At times it might make you long for Christopher Nolan's delicate touch. Those last four words have never appeared side-by-side before. Life’s funny that way.

It's not as hokey of a Superman and i prefer that, but at the same time, is it a more grown up version? I dont think so. I think he's a little too mopey and feeling sorry for himself from what ive seen so far. Instead of getting on with it and realizing he's a god who can save everyone. Who cares about winning people over? Who cares about "belonging". At least he has Lois now. "First world, white, God problems". I understand why Bruce is serious more than Clark.

It would be nice if this movie has some fun moments between Clark and Lois. Maybe Shape can answer that if he hasn't already.

If BvS was originally imagined at being 3 hours or longer, then I think that could be the main reason for the 'choppy' feel some are talking about.

LOL at that Snyder quote. He probably thinks mature equals mopey, brooding and always serious all the time. That's a very adolescent perspective at looking at maturity.

Grant Morrison's All Star Superman is a lot more mature than the MOS version, yet he has a smile on his face even as he learns that he is dying.

One consistent thread I've been noticing from the reviews: that it's seemingly oppressively dark. So much so that it sucks the very fun out of the movie.

One wonders if all the comic books Snyder has ever read are Garth Ennis War books. I mean, every single Batman or Superman, or team up books I've read are fun. Sure they can be dark, they can be dramatic, even poignant, but for God's sake, these characters are also supposed to be fun to experience. I wonder if Snyder misses this element completely.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Snyder got into comics as a teen with Heavy Metal comics, and then the staples like DKR and Watchmen... All dark stuff. I've never heard him say anything about lighter ones, or Superman comics in particular outside of things like "He's killed in the canon" and "All-Star Superman was the BIG Superman, and we're not doing that one" or something.

PS. I'm looking at the RT thread, but not reading reviews themselves... Which is easy, because it's mostly people *****ing about each other and critics themselves than discussing the content of the reviews.

And apparently most are saying that Lex's motivations are not explained very well. He's just there, and acts evil towards everything. I hope that's b.s. I dont want two villains in this movie being random and poorly done.

Yeah i have a feeling pacing issues have everything to do with this cut.
