^ I Am The Knight, I would put your post in a spoiler tag too. The way you worded it kinda gives it away.

Edit: You too, Shape.

Quote of the day?

Affleck underplays the role nicely, exuding rumpled world-weariness like only a man who’s survived Gigli can

From Day 1, something was off with the BvS project. The title alone was a problem. Felt lazy. The announcement of the film felt like it came out of nowhere. When Man of Steel didn't hit a billion bucks like they hoped, I believe there was some panic and they decided to shoehorn Batman into a Superman sequel. Messy deal all the way around.

Yeah, I haven't even clicked on the spoiler tag, and I can pretty much deduce what it's about. :hehe:

And if that's the case, I have no problem with it. I never had a problem with that. Although, I know some people really do.

Im curious if Bale is going to play nice or be honest IF he didnt like it. Same with Nolan.

I think my biggest fear, and ultimate nightmare(make a Knightmare joke), is if I hate it, and Shauner ends up loving it.

Bale turned down $50m offer to be part of it. Says it all about his feelings on the project, just like when Keaton turned down $15m to be part of Batman Forever in the 1990's. Good decision by both guys. They keep their legacies without tarnishing it.

I think Batfleck will be good, but I'm apprehensive about the rest now. The overall presentation of the product. I'm thinking it may be 7/10, or possibly 8/10 for me. I think there's every chance a good movie exists, but the chocker block nature of it leaves people unsure of how to react.

Trav and Shauner must salvage a bromance. They must. :hehe:

I figure Affleck will do a good job, but unfortunately for him it's a Snyder project. Seems the rest of it is a giant mess, as usual with Zack. Kilmer was solid in Batman Forever, but he will always be the main actor associated with a downturn in the franchise. Everything around him (other than Carrey) was rubbish.

for the batman solo film i hope they use Riddler from earth 2

I think they will play nice. They're both very classy when it comes to this stuff. I think Bale might genuinely enjoy the even more extreme take on Batman since that's where he wanted to go with it, and and Snyder is Nolan's friend and colleague. I figure both will have nice things to say about Affleck and will probably be vaguely complimentary at the very least. Nolan's no dummie, he's knows that whatever he says about the movie will be headline news in the movie geek world and get him unwanted attention, so he'll be as innocuous as possible. I could see him saying something basic like "I'm so relieved that I get to watch these movies now again as a fan", similar to how Marc Webb has been reacting to the MCU Spider-Man.

And yeah you guys, I've stayed pretty spoiler clean...but I feel like I can definitely infer what you're talking about...and if it's what I think it is, it will DEFINITELY depend entirely on the execution.

LOL that would be

I thought Bale had said the 50 million rumor was false.

In regards to the spoiler, well, I edited my post, dammit.

You mean like George Lucas with Force Awakens? "I'm glad I get to watch as a fan." No one bought it from bitter old George. :woot:

Different case. People don't generally have a grudge against Nolan and Nolan isn't known to have a petulant nature. He left the franchise on good terms and completed his take on it.

If this stays rotten, this would be the first time Batman has been in a critically reviled movie since Batman and Robin.

Or so he says. People lie all the time. I'm a huge GN'R fan. Slash recently lied about his involvement with GN'R. A week later, official announcement that he was back in the band after 20+ years.

Makes all of Affleck's talk about "really wanting to be in one of these movies that works" and this being his shot at redemption for Daredevil a bit more ironic in retrospect, if the review trend continues that is.

But, if he genuinely loves the movie than I suppose that's what matters. He can at least take some comfort in the fact that he seems to be one of the most consistently praised elements.

Even if i dont like this movie, im sure it destroys any of the Shumacher movies. Those movies were prime examples, B & R especially, of the worst kind of EVERYTHING thrown into a blender. At least we'll have good suits, good fighting, some solid performances including Batman himself.

Nobody is talking about Gotham City. Does it look glorious or no?

38% now on RT. I know there's still plenty more reviews to come, but the trend it's currently at is forecasting that this could end up lower than MOS. I didn't think it possible!

Neither.

Oh well. My opinion will be the opinion that matters. :oldrazz:

At least it's getting better reviews than My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, so far.

:O
