Were Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch ever called... Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch? I refuse to watch that movie more than once, but I am genuinely curious.

Unless I'm forgetting something, no. Marvel can call them by Wanda and Pietro, Fox can call them Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, hence why he's Peter in Days of Future Past.

Tony did refer to Wanda as a little witch. But that's it.

Wait they aren't allowed to call them Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in Disney? That seems hard to believe. I know they cannot use the word mutant, but that is an odd one.

That's what I recall reading, and considering they didn't use their superhero names in AOU and Fox changed Quicksilver's first name, I think it doesn't seem out of the question. Don't remember where I read it though, probably sometime in the AOU lead up or Days of Future Past's release. Maybe I'm wrong though, but I recall hearing that was the case. Maybe I'm mixing it up with the word mutant on the things that are arbitrarily wrapped up in this. But in any case, I do recall noticing that they weren't called either superhero name in the movie.

The airport sequence is shot in IMAX, 17 minutes long, and contains -- by the admission of most that have seen it -- the best superhero action ever. Looks like I'm booking my Imax ticket, which I was gonna forgo previously.

Definitely curious to see what the new digital Arri IMAX camera footage looks like. I'm guessing the trailers have held back a lot if the sequence is that long.

Hard to **** up a scene featuring Vision, Scarlet Witch, Spider-man, Iron Man, Ant-Man and Black Panther fighting each other. The diverse power sets! Anybody with even a bit of imagination would be like a kid in a candy store.

After the f*** up that is BvS, I won't think it's hard to do.

Some people are surprised that Marvel seems to have handled Spider-men well. Really? After how well they've done with their B and C listers, you think Marvel will **** up their flagship character? What are they, WB?

If there's one thing Marvel has done consistently well it's the heroes. I never had any fears for Spidey on that score.

Apparently Peter Parker is relentlessly geeky in this. Finally! No more James Dean Peter.

Oh and Tom Holland is supposedly phenomenal.

Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon is Marvel's doing, season 1 for the most part displayed an immature delinquent in tights. Season 2 had that problem to a lesser degree.
I guess that is where the concern originated?
And he's not popular with most of the fans of the marriage in comics nowadays.

Then again, Marvel's animation treatment for the characters in the recent batch of shows is not good, the movies are handled better.

Marvel animation has nothing to do with the guys running the MCU. That's good.

Just like Bruce TImm has nothing to do with the DCEU. That's bad.

A lot of hype for Tom Holland's Spidey, people saying he's the best ever.

I am so psyched to see him in the role. I haven't loved a Spider-Man movie thoroughly in 12 years.

James Gunn says Spidey is his favorite character in Civil War. He's an honest dude: he openly loved Ant-Man, but didn't really say anything when Ultron came out. Somebody also asked him on Facebook about getting to see Marvel movies so early and he said there were a couple of them they wouldn't have wanted to see before release, lol.

People keep stressing that the film is serious and emotional while retaining the fun factor. A crafty balancing act. Imagine that! A film doesn't have to be one relentless tone against another.

Even No Country For Old Men had this.

When I think of Spider-man 2 I feel all warm and fuzzy. I wanna cheer Spidey again and not roll my eyes at his villains. Please Marvel/Sony, give us good Spidey movies after Civil War.

Spider-man 2 is amazing. The moment when MJ sees that Peter is Spidey gets me every time.

Spider-Man was on his way to ending up like Superman. Great first two movies, then a downward spiral that got worse and worse with each movie.

Spider-Man 3 freakin' broke my heart, lol.

Even if Spidey is done justice in Civil War I'm still not holding my breath on the solo film. Rumors of Peter's best friend being an Asian character for the sake of being "PC" doesn't sit well with me. Even the rumored John Hughes tone has me a little concerned.

I am so jazzed for Civil War. I do feel bad for DC/Warner, though. They're probably about to get clowned even more next month. But they did bring it all on themselves by putting all their chips on Snyder.

Well that was pretty blunt, JackWhite! You drunkposting?

I feel the same as you about WB right now Brother Jack. I feel kinda bad for them, but I always thought it was highly questionable to make Snyder "the guy".

Spider-Man 3...you know, it's funny...like everyone else I was beyond hyped for it to be this epic, dark masterpiece, but when I actually saw it for the first time...by the time we arrived at the (first) dance sequence, my brain switched gears and fully accepted that it was just a dumb, silly movie and I rolled with it. I seriously lost my sh** in the theater and could not stop laughing. I still think the movie has some camp/humor value despite being a big mess. If nothing else, it provided some great memes.
