It's irrelevant now. With Spidey at their side they are gonna push as the face of Marvel again. Don't be surprised if Homecoming has a 'passing of the torch' dramatic arc in the film.

This is starting to sound like wrestling.

Take Static for example. After the massive success that character had in the last 15 years, how could he not be on DC's top ten priorities list? He went from an unknown to having a successful modern TV show, something Wonder Woman still has trouble attaining. He's been described as DC's answer to Spider-Man, which is a huge claim considering DC's main criticism being not having relatable characters.
Wait, none?
With characters like Barry Allen, Wally West, Jimmy Olsen,Richard Grayson, Tim Drake, Kyle Rayner (before the White Lantern stuff), and Clark Kent (certain iterations of him are quite relatable. Did you know that one time Superboy was his rival in love with Lois Lane? That happened long before The Amazing Spider-Man 006 showing Peter Parker on one end getting scolded by Liz Allan on the other end of the line for not being Spider-Man who phoned her).
Also, Terry McGinnis is another relatable DC character originating in the cartoons, and then moving to the comics.

How come none of these really count?

I still wish to see Iron Man get a better image in the eyes of the public.

What's so mediocre about it? I find it to be one of the better movies in that series.

Forgettable story, generic villain, and a lack of much of anything at stake in the narrative other than waiting for Banner to smash.

I liked the first act of TIH. Second was okay... Third nah.

On a recent episode of his "Really That Good" series, moviebob did a great retrospective on Superman: The Movie, though I imagine people won't like the part where he praises Hackman and knocks John Byrne Lex.

I'd share the link, but the video has cursing.

X:Men Apocalypse. To keep it short, I would give it an average rating. 50 to 60 percent.

Generic villain and performance from Oscar Isaac. The four horsemen were one-note. It was basically the evil twirling mustache group. Typical destruction fest at the end, bad CGI for the most part.

Quicksilvers moment was fun but way too convenient. Every choice that character made was convenient.

Fassbender is the greatest. The best moments for me were with Magneto, Jean Grey and Cyclops. Those two were already so much better than what we got in the original films.

Overall it added nothing new to the genre and not much to the franchise. The movie started off okay and ended well. But it was a little messy in between as far as editing/pacing goes. Entertaining time in the theater. I recommend checking it out, but it doesn't beat Days or First Class.

Thoughts on DC Rebirth?
I don't care enough to read this, but the idea sounds like the company lost confidence in the product and direction they advertised and published for last 5 years.

Thoughts on DC Rebirth?
I'll have to wait a year to give a total appraisal. It promises good things. It promises that things will go in the right direction. But DC has a talent for squandering promises.

Affleck on The Batman:

"I think what I would do, what I probably would do, is in some ways what Zack did with this movie, which is to borrow certain things from the great comic books, but create an original story around it because I wouldn't want the fans to already know the story and be familiar, but I would borrow, steal, great things that have been done before in the comics."
Newsflash Ben, that's what every director has been doing.

This reminds of this interview where Affleck is like Batman is unique because he is a relatable hero. I was like, okay Ben, Batman is far from the only relatable hero.

My friend said he thinks Donald Trump would be a great Penguin. Honestly, in an odd way I could really see it.

The [BLACKOUT]Dr. Manhattan[/BLACKOUT] thing I find questionable. There's an interesting meta commentary with it but DC's disrespect of Moore and the original over the years makes me wish they hadn't gone there. Some things are better left untouched.

The extended edition of BvS trailer left me feeling empty.
I guess that's better than feeling enraged.

Yeah, pretty much the same here.

Unless the online community gives the Rated R cut near unanimous praise I probably won't even bother picking it up. I'll just find other means of watching it.

I see the extended cut earning only 8% higher rating in positive reviews.

I pity the poor souls who are clinging to the hope this extended cut will "fix" the movie's problems.

I have little to no interest in watching a longer version of a film I didn't enjoy for the most part. Especially now that we know Jena Malone will not be playing Barbara Gordon, the only reason I was interested in the UC in the first place.

It has one problem to fix...
Show us more destruction, we didn't see enough in the theatrical release.

Wait what? She's not Barbara?

Nope.

Well, with that, there goes the one thing tempting me to take a look at the extended cut any time soon.
