It's astounding to think the DCEU made a balls up of two of their biggest villains in one year.

I'm honestly afraid to see what kind of crappy contemporary twists/new takes they come up for other villains. most notably the rest of Batman's rogue gallery.

Wow, I thought you'd love it AnneFan :sly:
I wanted to like it, but I was let down. This funky fan isn't a sheep. I'll blast a movie if I don't like it. I can either be your best friend or your worst enemy. :toth

I know we are entitled to different opinions, but I have to disagree with that. I hated Batman v Superman. It is without a doubt one of the worst superhero movies of all time.
You don't need to include superhero in that.

Joker....oh man they butchered my beloved Joker. He was reduced to a pitiful love sick puppy. How can the Joker be in a movie and not get any memorable or menacing moments? How does that happen? Only the DCEU could manage that. I could even tolerate him being utterly pointless to the story if what we did see of him was memorable and good, regardless of relevance to the story. But no.
What about his toys?
Was that scene in the movie?

I have an idea:

Take Penguin from Gotham, give him sharp teeth and the hands of Batman Return's Penguin, and turn him to a nice umbrella merchant, strong armed by Tony Zucco.

DC will continue no matter what. I believe in the DCCU and Zac Snyder. 3 great films in and counting.

All the praise you shower BvS with makes me want to go stronger in defending Judge Dredd as an underrated movie.

Please don't say that again.

What is your favorite rendition of Batman's cape?

Something I'm noticing...with BvS I felt like I walked out more mixed and got more disgusted with the movie the more I thought about it. With Suicide Squad I walked out of the movie pretty disgusted, but now that I've had a little time to cool down I feel like my thoughts are evening out a bit. I think it's because I know there are some good performances and fun moments there, and I'll go on record of saying the scene in the bar was more effective and felt more like an actual movie than any single scene in BvS. But the music, choppy editing, lame villain and paper thin story really made it hard for me to settle in and enjoy the ride. Especially knowing that a movie like this should'be been so much easier to enjoy and just screams "too many cooks in the kitchen".

With lowered expectations, I think I'll watch this again when it comes on VOD and see how I feel.

My favourite Joker's are

1. Ledger
2. Hamill
3. Emerson

It is not surprising to see Ledger and Hamill making up the top two, with Ledger winning.

I have no memory of Emerson's Joker.

I rank my top 3 like this:
1. Dimaggio
2. Hamill (40s-50)
3. Ledger
4. Bennet
5. Hamill (older)
6. Nicholson

DC had the balls to botch up two of their best heroes, is it surprising that they botched two of their best villains?

Their top tier villain is a bit of a surprise, since he had a properly seasoned filmmaker to handle his character.

I hate to see Batman kill, but I wouldn't mind if he decimated Jared Leto's Joker

The scene that line was from was there, but that bit was cut out.

Well General Zod was ok. Pales in comparison to Terence Stamp's Zod, but he was at least decent and not an embarrassment to his comic book counterpart like Luthor and Joker were to theirs.

And people say Marvel has a villain problem. :csad:

Say what you will about Marvel's villain short comings, they never did a big disservice to any huge popular villains like the DCEU have.

So in a way, it was shameless marketing.
Not cute.

Red Skull is not very popular, but he's important to the lore of Captain America, and they skimmed over him.
