The Dark Knight Rises You Have My Permission To Lounge - Part 5

I don't have any collectible, personally I have no use for them.

Pretty much the way I am. A few years ago, and after a couple of weeks of agonizing over it, I pulled the trigger on the Batman TDKR Hot Toys figure... Then woke up in the middle of the night and thought "Why the hell am I spending hundreds of dollars on a toy?!" and jumped over to my lap top and cancelled it. I appreciate the hell out of seeing other peoples collections, but it's just not something I see use in myself-- Plus, if I ever did get into it, I know I'd turn into a freakin' completionist and think "Well, if I get Batman, I really should get Joker... And Bane... And Catwoman... and if I get all them, I should really get the equivalents from the Burton series... Definitely going to need some Superman and Star Wars stuff---" and then I'm broke as **** with a room full of things that just look pretty.

You spared yourself a lot of agony.

Very nice collections Joker and Kane. I am a comic reader and collector (I have so many it is embarrassing) and I buy the movies (live-action and animated), TV shows (Arrow, The Flash, BTAS and Teen Titans) and video games too. I do not collect action figures or models, but there have been some in a store that I have been very tempted to buy. One is a Joker action figure from the story Death of the Family, with his leather-face look that I really like (I was surprised to see you had that one Joker, as I thought you did not like that look). The other one is Scarecrow from Arkham Knight, which looks great.

Man you dudes really don't have a lot in your collections. Joker I thought you have way more than that but you have some really kick ass Joker figures/statues that I would love to have.
Quite small comic movie collections but not bad though.

We're not posting our entire comic book movie collections. Just our Batman stuff. From what I can see with Kane's he just showed his DC shelf. I am assuming he has more CB movies than those.

I've got a lot more comic book movies. The Raimi Spider-Man trilogy, the X-Men movies (my favs I bought on blu-ray as you can see in one of my pics), the MCU movies, Blade movies, Hellboy, Deadpool, Donner Superman movies etc.

I will upload my collection soon. I have an entire room just dedicated to Batman merchandise.
My fiance is letting us get the 1960s Batmobile for our wedding car with a Batman themed wedding.
I've been into Batman since 3 years old. Burton 89 is what got me into it. I have a $**,000 plus Batman collection. Pretty much every present I get is Batman related. My fiance and I sleep in a Batman themed bedroom.
I have a separate batman dvd/blu-ray collection that needs it's own section.

I would expect nothing less from you :cwink:

I actually can't wait to see it. It sounds really impressive.

It's at the very end. I got the gift box edition.

Thanks Slade. The Death of the Family Joker look I am not a huge fan of, but its a notable part of his CBM history so I went and bought it.

There's a few others I didn't snap pics of. I have the Hush Joker and Harley figurines, too. I ordered DKR Joker figure off ebay last night. I'll snap some pics of them when it arrives.

I look forward to seeing them. Are you going to get the Endgame Joker action figure? Joker's look in Endgame is my favourite look of his, but I do not like the action figure.

No, the face looks crappy. The Endgame look is great, but they made a balls up of the facial design on that figure.

Wow. I don't think I've seen your entire collection of Joker items before. That is amazing! I love how each one triggers a memory for me. I don't have many 'official" items, but ha, you know of my other stuff.

That's me pretty much. It's cool if other people can do it, but not only do i not give a damn about toys and collecting comics, but if i did, i would be extremely obsessive about it, i'm sure.

I have one hot toy (MK 3 Iron Man). But I haven't had the urge to buy another one again.

I'd say I'm both a comics and movies fan, and when it comes to Batman I generally consider myself a pretty well-rounded in terms of all the various Batman media I've enjoyed over the years. Like most people around my age, my introduction to the character was through the Burton movies and TAS in the 90s. I collected some comics in the 90s, and I remember first becoming more aware of the comics world when the Death of Superman arc happened. Overall though, I was never a voracious comic book reader growing up. I didn't really have any friends who were super into comics so I didn't have anyone to show me the ropes, and it can be a bit of a confusing world to step into. But through the movies, TV, video games, toys, Halloween costumes, you name it...Batman has always been a very major part of my life. Around 2003 when Batman Begins was announced, in my hype for the movie I started diving more into comics and started out by reading all the classics that I knew were the must-reads: Year One, DKR, TLH, AA etc. I've popped in and out over the years when it comes to the monthly titles. I would never claim to be the foremost authority when it comes to every nook and cranny of the comics' history, but between all the DCAU stuff I've consumed, all of the comics I've now read, and good ol' wiki dives, I feel fairly secure about my level of Bat-knowledge.

Overall I appreciate the comics and films for very different reasons. To me, as the source material the comics are a obviously the first and essential part of the lore-building. The reason people even care in the first place when Batman first shows up on TV or in the movies is the fact that he's coming from this rich source material that's just filled with gems. So you've got to respect all of that as a fan and realize that a movie adaptation's job first and foremost is to honor that iconography. Personally speaking though, nothing compares to the actualy experience of seeing a Batman movie. Some of my fondest childhood memories are associated with that. Burton's visuals and Elfman's music were a powerful combination and I was spellbound by it all. Same goes for the top notch animation of TAS and Shirley Walker's incredible music. So the visual/audio component has always been really powerful to me and it's probably impacted my life more than I even realize in terms of what I've pursued with my career as well as my personal passion projects.

I've never been much of a collector in terms of statues and figures...but I do hope one day, once I've got a little more disposable income to spruce up my studio/mancave with some more nerdy swag like that. For now though this is my modest collection of Bat-movies/comics. I've got a box full of random 90s Batman comics too, but didn't feel like taking those out of the attic. :oldrazz:

Thanks mate.

Your collectables put us all to shame.

Nice

Does my heart good to see people owning the 1966 Batman movie. Pure West. That art of The Dark Knight trilogy book is fantastic. I have it myself, too.

I have big Batman, James Bond and Star Wars collections. I actually need to buy two new sets of shelves. :funny:

I'm not comfortable posting a photo here, but if some users want to see something send me a PM.

And just what the hell is "something"?! :ninja:

I'm curious why that is? Its not the kind of photo people can use against you in a personal way. Its just collectibles you own.

I got a pretty decent comic collection, but my prized possession is still my Absolute version of DC New Frontier

Fantastic artist. Such a great unique style.

i know it would have been very unlikely, but a DCEU with New Frontier as an inspiration would be so cool.

Too bad, cause it used the public distrust of powered people and costumed figures far better than Zack Snyder's "art"
