The Dark Knight Rises You Have My Permission To Lounge - Part 7

It's more notable in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight Rises than it is in The Dark Knight.

To each his own - the way he gets his info from that bullet/fingerprint is kind of bs, but I always enjoyed the sequence where Bruce drive his motorbike to the parade based on his findings. He's also the one who has the idea to cross-reference addresses.

He can also identify members of the GPD from a distance in the sequence where he saves Coleman Reese's life. Both of those stand out to me, even if they're not necessarily flashy.

Plus he's doing his homework on Harvey, plus he's organising and analyzing Lau and his business dealings, plus he supplied the GCPD with the marked bills as part of his ongoing war on the mob, plus he researched (at some stage) Joker's henchmen (the guy Harvey kidnapped) etc etc.

The people who say Bruce wasn't as smart as Batfleck or that he barely did detective work compared to blah blah...come aaaahhhn! Pay attention yuh turkeys!

The assertion that Batman doesn't do detective stuff in TDKT is just objectively wrong. He does detective work in each film. Some of it is fairly subtle, though. Woven into the story without necessarily drawing a lot of attention to itself.

Time for that gold under the end of Tim Burton's rainbow; BATMAN FOREVER.

I still hate the Elliot Goldenthal theme.

The focus on nipples, ass shot, and crotch shot, is not as strong as it is for one character in Batman & Robin, but it's still unnecessary.

Not sure why he needed to stop walking for a zooming shot on his face after the batmobile was fully ready for him to enter, buuut we got that for such spectacular dialogue:
Alfred: "Can I persuade you to take a sandwich with you, sir?"
Batman: "I'll get drive through"

Why focus on the batmobile wheel? And why does it have a bat logo on it?
I'll take a guess that it's for when Jason Todd wants to steal tires, he can brag about the batmobile tires and sell them for a higher price.

SPECTATORS, lots and lots of them under a building to witness a high rise robbery inside a high floor in a closed building. Does that happen in real life? We didn't have a robbery of such kind in my country, so I wouldn't know.

What's up with Tommy Lee Jones being very whispery in his first scene? Is this their idea of throwing away the notion that he will ham it up later? DUDE.

Batman swings down, he was high enough to enter the building from the roof, but he has to swing down to make an entrance, just so we get a character introduction for Dr. Chase Meridian, I guess.

Shot: Nothing alien beside the window.
Next shot: A wrecking ball suddenly wrecks the wall.

Did Harvey really have need for a hostage? I guess that works for trapping him in the vault.

One of the producers is Peter MacGregor-Scott, did Akiva Goldsman choose his name to use to name lung cancer in Batman & Robin?
I blame Matthew Patrick for me saying it's lung cancer.

What's up with all the Tron Legacy lights on the machine guns? I know these two films are neon light shows, but this far?

I actually love how Batman took down the henchman with blades, and the combat sequence is cool.

Someone as prepared as Batman wasn't ready for a vault trap, and prioritized taking the tape off the guard's mouth before anything else.

Why is the vault door with an automated lock?

Acid in the vault raises a few questions:
When did they get acid?
Why did they bring in acid?
Didn't it burn the hands of anyone carrying and pouring it?
How did it not lose temperature and remained boiled?
When and how did they pour it in every drawer in the vault?
How did the security guard know it's boiling? It doesn't look that way.
How did the security guard know it's acid?

*sigh*
I'm not even 10 minutes in, and I have this much to say.

This movie raises a variable of questions per minute, and a good amount of LOLs to follow.

No one is professional enough to check for fingerprints, or the corpse of the security guard(s) taking care of watching the murder take place on camera?
Cops in this world designed by a couple of big Batman fans are terrible.

And one pattern I have to mention in this series of films is this:
Girlfriends knows Bruce Wayne is Batman, goes away between movies and is never heard from again. That kinda includes Barbra not Gordon who is not a girlfriend but won't return cause series ended with FIRE.

The chimney in Wayne Manor has statues on its sides, with what looks like nippled elbows.
What's with all the statue fascination in these movies? This was quite an obsession Joel Schumacher had at the day, I'm glad we didn't get Year One of rubber nipples and statues everywhere.

I wanted to stop asking questions, but this chimney obliged me to comment.

With all the explosions, bullets, fire, etc... the costume of Batman resisted numerous times, Riddler's tiny incendiary explosives render them irreparable.

Aziz is on his own planet right now

boy is on that psychedelic schumacher high

You are welcome to join me in the glory of watching Batman & Robin for a glorious commentary session later.

This is easily one of the greatest tracks ever made for a movie.

Aziz, why the hate for the Goldenthal theme in BF? That's my fav. :(

I don't like the new Batman suit in that JL poster. Looks odd.

I associated it with headache for a long while, still do, even more than all the neon lights and purple mix in those movie.
It's like a weird mix of the Elfman and the 66 themes, a mix that should make it instantly appealing, but ends up being the opposite.
