Hulk 2 is so gonna suck if they choose the Penn script. Wanna proof? See Elektra and X3.

I don't think it's that clear cut. The director will also affect how it turns out. Some directors have turned in great films with really bad scripts. And vice versa.

But yeah I agree, Penn isn't exactly a sure thing. His pro-Bruce Jones run and tv series preferences comments give me cause for concern. :marv:
I also don't like scripts to be written well in advance of a director being signed and giving them little time to make changes prior to filming.

Can someone ask him to make sure this time we get the ACTOR that is playing Bruce Banner to also play the Hulk?? I don't want Ang Lee as the ****ing Hulk please.

I'm totally with you on this. The fact that Ang Lee insisted on being in the motion-capture suit himself shows a lack of understanding of the nature of the character.

damn , that sounds good to me. i hope they keep Hulk 12 feet tall and not tone his size down. i also hope they make Abomination taller then Hulk!
The Hulk is not & never was 12 feet tall. He's not King Kong! Your reading the wrong comic book!

Please explain why he should be bigger?

^ I think on film he'd need to be bigger than 7ft because in the comics you can say all you want but on film to be 7ft tall and way over 1000lbs he'd look like a ball. He needs a larger frame/taller. Just my opinion no need to get in a lenthy debate over this issue. Whatever happens it'll be cool.

It seems some here want to see Godzilla Vs Mothra or something like that. Super size monsters is not what the Hulk is about! Go rent those Japanese movies if thats what you want. I won't even go see it if the next movie goes that route!

I agree that the Hulk on film should be about 9 or 10 feet tall in the movie, he need to look intimidating enough for people to be scared ****less of him. At 7 foot he wouldnt be as there would be people taller than him!!!!

I'm sorry but a 6ft Hulk would scare the hell out of anybody he's 5 guys wide. You guys act like there are a zillion 7fters around. The Hulk in the 60s & 70s wasn't always bigger than the villiain. It was his strength that got stonger that made him able to beat the bigger guy. If he's bigger than everybody you lose the whole idea of "the madder Hulk gets, the stronger Hulk gets"!

Its his RAGE not his size!!!!!!!!!!

I disagree, Hulk is meant to be a monstor, and an unhuman like one at that. Even though he has human proportions (sort of), he is inhuman, so he needs to be bigger than the Undertaker!!!!!!

Well thats not the Hulk I grew up reading.

Ahhhhh someone who actually understands what The Hulk is all about. It's funny to me to hear people say 7' isn't that big anymore or Basketball players are that big. Yeah there are what, a few hundred Basketballs players in the whole world that are 7'+. 7' is still big and with The Hulks mass it monstrous. The size he was during the first Hulk-out was about right. keep him at that height.

Not completely true. Firstly it was gonna be a guy at ILM doing the mocap. Which is the standard, very few films has actors doing that work(which really only got started with the work on Gollum). Ang did it because he didn't want the action to be WWF style fighting which was the predominant thought at the time at ILM(so if Ang didn't even care, it would be WWF fight styles). It's all in the extras on the dvd(which is where this info is from, i'm not just pulling this out of my ass). They even say that usually directors don't even hang around during the effects process. Ang was there for months day after day. Which was alot more than most directors did. Apart from the fact Ang was an actor before he became a director. So it's not like some unco-spaz(like could be addressed to the ILM staffer that was gonna do it). And I seriously doubt Eric Bana would of brought more to the table. He's just an actor, has he ever demonstrated any interest in the comic beyond the usual actor "yeah i've read some issues/I was giving some material/I love it/I think its amazing"? Which is the prevailing response from all actors involved with a comic book movie.
[Ions moves from factual information and observations to supposition]

What makes you think he would of behaved more like the Hulk you(and by you I mean the cgi critics in this thread, and not Obi-ron specifically) all wanted to see? Has he demonstrated some insight into the character that would give everyone the thought he does?

I'll also say I doubt Eric will do the mocap for Hulk 2. Considering the usually 3-6 month shoot(assuming this is a big movie), do you think he's gonna leave his schedule open for another 6 months to be around to do mo cap work at ILM? With his career flourishing as it is, he's not gonna live away from his family for a half year so he can do some stuff that won't even be seen as him on screen. When he can take a break with his family and then do another movie and keep his career rolling on with some momentum.

Also while your at it, provide a quote from Eric saying he would wanna do it. I can't recall him ever saying it. I don't recall any notable actor ever doing this either.
I'm open to any factual responses to my supposition. :marv:

How is 7' "understanding what hulk is about"? Other than being sufficiently large to be called a Hulk? His personality and essense can be summed up better than his height. "Rage" yeah that's it. As long as that's there and he doesn't become evil, and hates Bruce, isn't that a better definition than just "7'"?
As for the basketball comment, that has to be a dig at me. I've said that once. Defending a 8' high Hulk opinion(back over on HM forums) ages ago.
[Ions notes that he's already said he's more than happy to keep the first Hulk out size]
Also with Eric Bana being taller than the original Banner was, why shouldn't Hulk be slightly taller than the original Hulk? So the growth ratio is the same?
Unless you wanna start a movement of opinion where we get Eric recast with someone who is more the correct height. Since that's how you come to the true essense of a character. :p
[Ions tags CJ]
Not it!
[Ions legs it out of the thread laughing his head off]

I wasn't talking about 7'. What I was getting at was that he understood that The Hulk loses his, Hulkness? when he is 15' tall. It takes away the Incredible part of him. It's not so Incredible for a 15' Hulk to destroy something. A 15' Hulk vs Juggs or Wovie! Ha not even a contest. Think about Mile Tyson. Nearly everyone he fought was taller then him. It was impressive to see Tyson 5'10" chop down guys like Bone Crusher Smith 6'4".

You're not the only one Ions who said that. If the Hulk was 8' tall durning the first Hulk out then so be it. It doesn't have to be exactely 7'. Sheeesh. But I do find it funny that people think 7' isn't that tall. If given the choise between fighting a guy that's about 6' tall and a guy that's 7' tall, who you gona pick. :D

Hulk should be 8ft tall. Thats 1ft taller than basketball player Shaquille O'Neal.
Plus that makes Jackman's wolverine almost the right size if they fight.

Just for perspective of what Hulk we mean, here's Hulk from that scene. As i've said previously. He looks pretty good there. Maybe give him abit more of an angry face(like some of the scenes during the dog fight, when he was getting really pissed off) as he does look too baby faced.

I liked this scene because it really did show how big and wide Hulk was.
