6.15 Freak - Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

Well... I pretty much love every episode that has TW in it ;) but "Freak" had some really great moments...

Lex is getting SCARY evil. I almost wanted to hide my eyes when he got mad at the Dr.... and the way he lied to Lana... seriously creepy!

I loved the scene in which a "freaked" out Chloe told Clark she felt like a ticking time-bomb and he put his arm around her and said, then consider me your bomb squad. So sweet.

Lana has been more and more her "likeable" self in these past few episodes too. She's wising up. (Ever since she went all mushy over Lex it's been hard not to view her as tainted, so this is a good thing.) I loved it when I realized that she was trying to help Tobias in an effort to protect Clark. When she said you're going to hurt someone who saves lives everyday... and it was even cooler that Clark knows why she did it. And wow, she actually confronted him about the bullet. And they talked. Great stuff.

I agree, I really rreally hope they stick to cannon for the last episode. He takes lana in his arms on a flight, explains everything, and say goodbye.
Screw seeing him in the tights, Thats the ending I want.

John Brynes Man of steel isn't even cannon anymore.

Anyone else think her power, might be being in the right place at the right time?
Kinda a psychic source?
I mean she has stumbled onto more freaks than luthor has, and hes been trying.

Super-good-timing, aka. Coincidence Magnet. That would make as much sense as Super-hacking... more, really.

i was having an arguement about the last episode about how Clark lies, and i was asked to give proof. well he lied in this one, Chloe asked why he was staring at her and he said "nothing im just relieved." and if the arguement was whether or not red krypotnite clark lies, well didnt he lie while macking up lois? she asked if he likes her or something, and he said something like yes

Well... now that's the advantage of having NO idea what "cannon" is when it comes to Superman. I can enjoy a good story without expectations... :yay:

Now if this was Spider-Man... :cwink:

I don't think that was a lie, the Red K just made it so he could voice deep hidden feelings for Lois.

The lieing on Clark's part doesn't bother me, because he does it to protect others. My one major gripe in this episode is that Clark stole, and for some reason that bugged me...but it was made up for by how he stole.

Priceless...:woot:

Its funny becasue the last few seasons, and the way lana was acting I really hoped they wouldn't do that, but lately, it feels like she deserves it.

the word is "canon" you knuckleheads ;) not cannon. unless of course you're talking about this:

Not disclosing the full truth does not necessarily mean that you are lying. Lying is saying something that is totally not true.

In this case, I'm sure he was relieved that she was okay, just because he didnt add "and oh by the way I think you might be a meteor freak" doesnt equate to him being a liar. It was more like Clark trying to spare Chloe what might be a painful truth.

Sorry to play the Devil's advocate...but there is such thing as a lie of omission.

But I do agree with your point....Clark not telling everything up front is his way of protecting his friends and is something that can be looked past. Heck, if you want to make a point of this, his not telling everyone that he is Superman....he lies constantly.

he may also not have wanted to say it in front of anyone else. I believe jimmy was there at the time

You are right. There is such a thing as a lie by omission, but that wasnt the case here. Clark was protecting Chloe, or as a Hulk said, was waiting until Jimmy left the room so he could share his thoughts in confidence with her.

A lie of omission would be someone who subverts the truth for their own cause. That's where the difference lies between Clark and Lex.

Clark lies to protect others
Lex lies to protect himself

great episode... i just watched it. the only thing i didn't like was blind guy's mtv hair. i kind of wanted to punch him, because you know, being blind, he probably had to either try really hard to get his hair like that, or ask somebody to do it up like that for him.

oh well, either way, great episode.

I actually agree with you....I was just being technical.:csad:

Wow. It's about time Lex officially started killing people. I've been waiting for this since forever.

Lana and Clark are talking again! Without angst! SWEET!
