It's The Hollywood Reporter that is making the claims but also stating Nolan is refusing to budge.

He has no reason to when it'll eventually be mixed better. It's actually pretty cool-sounding, and will be even moreso when mixed clearer.

from that angle we r basically looking dead on at the side of the blade on the left, and also it could be hidden in the upper left lobster tail section at that angle

We see the green blade but not the red blade.

This won't let me sleep! :woot:

I agree, in truth after a few watches I could make everything out in the prologue, and it was clear in the line in the trailer.

Yes, right! They are long blades that criss-cross.

But what do you all think about the lack of blades on the left? I keep asking. :woot:
Are those the supposed rotors? Those just look like hydraulics for the arms and wings of The Lobster.

Using "Kaman 4-blade teetering rotors" installed upsidedown:

You know, I think this thing might be my favourite Batman vehicle on film.

The Batwing looks almost empty inside. You can even see through it.

And that's not very efficient aerodynamically. There must be a purpose for such a strange design.

Yeah, but it looks like it needs some space up there for the rotors to get some air intake. That was my biggest concern about the prop aspects, but seeing that is actually kind of comforting in that department. Adds a bit more 'functional legitimacy' to it, if you will.

I like it a lot, but I really do love The Tumbler. It's such a beast of a car.

The Lobster could be better, but it'll be hard to top The Tumbler.

The key will be the scenes with it, which have been great so far in other movies with the other vehicles. Seriously...what would someone think of the Millenium Falcon as a design if they never saw it in its scenes? :O

No argument there.

The lobster's like a big looming preying mantis. It's has such an unusual beauty about it that interests me.

Actually looks quite comic-inspired to me, as did the BatPod.

I think it's already pretty clear by now that it's a hovercraft-type vehicle with rotors underneath, but some turbine thrust involved as well. It's like a hybrid. :D

:funny:

Now I see them! lol, God I love this machine. :O

Never seen this angle before, the details are amazing.

Is there a link to a credible source that says WB have put pressure on Nolan to alter Bane's voice?

So looking forward to the Bluray release "extras" showcasing the construction design, visual and special effects on this new vehicle!!

I think one of the key elements of the Batwing's use in the film for me will be whether or not it is a utility vehicle or just a "crazy flying machine" to add to the blockbuster value of The Dark Knight Rises.

One of the reasons I liked the Tumbler so much was that it was an incarnation of the batmobile that made sense - it seemed like a rugged, useful vehicle that fulfilled all Batman's requirements - it was fast, maneuverable and incredibly tough. Nothing about it's design felt like a gimmick - even the batpod shooting out of the front felt right. Other versions of the batmobile have been too much like slightly zany sports cars that were over stylised and wouldn't have lasted through the kind of punishment Batman puts it through in the Nolan films.

The Batwing will need to retain this for me - if it starts to feel like it's inclusion is a result of the team wanting a "bigger, better, more badass" feel for TDK, I think it will lose credibility. That said, the batpods inclusion was well integrated into the plot of the film and set up the amazing truck scene, so I don't think this will be the case.

On a practical level, it could simply boil down to Batman being outgunned - 1 tumbler vs Bane's 3+ tumblers.

Batman will need a vehicle with a bigger advantage, and the Batwing provides that.

I think its awesome that this movie will have use of ALL 3 Bat vehicles - Batmobile, Batpod & Batplane... this is gna be so bad arse!!
