BvS Ben Affleck IS Batman - Part 16

I think the first Batman scene should have him save the day from a minor threat with only one witty line of dialog. I honestly think that physical believably does have a big impact on how a Batman is perceived.

Watching the animated version of TDKReturns last night, I think Ben can incorporate that brutal, no nonsense type of Batman. Break bones now, think later type of guy.

I'm not even a fan of Affleck but what exactly was bad about his acting in that Gone Girl trailer because I didn't see this terrible acting?

I don't see it either. I thought the trailer was very intriguing and looks like a very good movie. I don't see bad acting anywhere.

Affleck plays a lot of stupid characters it's true, but in real life he's quite intelligent. Him and Matt Damon are both highly intelligent people. Ben can play this smart.

Think about these few points, and yes, I am quite versed in fitness and body composition.


- Hugh Jackman is shorter than Ben, and he's also nowhere near as big as some of you have him out to be. Yes, he's ripped, but think of it as a UFC fighter. What you see on weigh ins and what a fighter normally weighs (we call this their walking weight) are two vastly different things. For Hugh (and Cavill for that matter), those 30 second shirtless scenes are after weeks of dieting down, cutting any water retaining out of their diet, and getting as much water out of their system as possible, much like a bodybuilder before a show. So, in essence, the Cavill and Hugh on the shirtless scenes are likely at least 10-15 lbs less in water weight than what they'd normally carry around in the rest of the picture. Conversely, any scenes where they need to fill out their suit or what have you, they'd bulk and drink a ton of water beforehand. Take that and add the magic of camera angles and editing and you have two very lean actors who appear massive because of the type of training they are doing, and the vascularity/definition brought out by doing these weigh in/bodybuidling show steps. The Cavill and Jackman in the shirtless scenes probably weigh a lot less than many of you think, specifically because the illusion that having the added definition and the right muscle tone in the right places affords you.

- Ben is bulking up and has been. If he needs any scenes shirtless or whatever, he will do the same thing Cavill and Hugh have done to prep for the scene. There's a big difference in 225 lbs and 190 lbs in terms of proportion in their respective heights, body type etc.

Technically if we're talking about guys in their mid 50's who are still huge and ripped, the only one who comes to mind is the Ultimate Warrior(RIP)..but methinks he didn't get that huge physique at his age without a little help...

^ agreed. the near psychotic batman only worked for the dark knight returns because he was old and bitter in that story.
doesn't work for a batman who is in his 30s-40s. he may be pretty paranoid, but he's still noble, not some bitter ahole.

I hope they pull the better parts of the character without going completely nuts with it. We saw intimidation scenes in BB, but I feel that it's an area that's relatively untouched as of late. There are a ton of ways to make you want to believe that criminals are fearful of him instead of just implying that they're fearful of him just because that's what you do in those movies.

With the rumor of Batman being a myth/legend in this film, I think we'll see him intimidate some criminals.

Haha, thanks. I've been thinking about adding a few more "No!"/scream scenes from various comic book/popular culture films to my avatar. Hmm, unless I find a screaming Ben Affleck gif around...maybe I'll add that instead.

Batman vs. Superman Exclusive Cast Party Photos And Report on DETROIT!!!


You may have heard recently that the actors, actresses, and the cast and crew of the untitled Man of Steel sequel are soon to be approaching on Michigan to begin filming, but now we have photographic proof that they’re in Detroit. Above and below are some photos that were taken on Saturday, May 10 outside of the oldest continuously operated bowling alley in the country, the Garden Bowl in downtown Detroit, where several celebrities attended a Batman Vs. Superman cast party.
Some of the faces I recognized were Patrick Tatopoulos (the Production Designer), Henry Cavill (Superman/ Clark Kent) arriving with Gina Carano, and Zack Snyder (Director). The Michigan based band Mustard Plug was playing a show upstairs from the cast and crew’s party, so it was hard to make it through the crowd that showed for that, but I do believe I also saw Gal Gadot (Diana Prince/ Wonder Woman).

While everyone was hesitant to answer any questions, it was easily noticeable how excited everyone was to be a part of the film. Tatopoulos actually stopped and chatted with me for a bit, and was a blast to talk with — even if he couldn’t really say too many details about the film. Snyder and Cavill were also happy to stop for a picture or two before leaving the bowling alley.
Batman Vs. Superman is scheduled to open in movie theaters on May 6, 2016.

a safe bet would be that you'll find one after bvs came out;-)
