I was thinking the same, but then not so sure because of Clark's not knowing about Bruce at the beginning. Maybe he just x-ray visioned through the mask and wasn't aware what Bruce Wayne looks like until he spots him at that event.

His questioning of who that was is the one thing that pops that balloon, but the dialog is TOO spot on. It's Clark trying to make his points all logical and civil and Bruce just being an angry jerk that none the less has some accurate points about the objectivity of the Planet and Clark's role there. I kind of hope Bruce points out that Clark in a way is helping to shape his own public image in an underhanded manner in a way.

Clark definitely doesn't know Bruce's identity. He asked the photograph who is that.

As for Lex, it seems that he knows Clark, even though Clark meets Lex for the first time. Also, notice the wink at Bruce from Lex.

I think that the question is a problem in that scenario but... The dialog was TOO one nose. It's Clark trying to reason with a man that at the moment is fueled by irrational hatred or anger. That's me.

Again, I don't think Clark knows Bruce's identity. We know he was investigating batman in Gotham, so he probably just wants to know most famous Gothamite's opinion. Lex and Bruce do seem to know who Clark is. Not sure why Bruce revealed his cards like that though.

Hmm... dammit, I'm not sure what to think. I'll have to rewatch it few more times.

I think Bruce and Lex are oblivious to Lex as a threat. They don't suspect him of being anything more than a sarcastic, smarmy jackass. His true danger is hidden from them due to their conflict blinding them. I think for sure they have clashed at least once in costume by then.

I posted that before I saw your post (I was typing). This is a following one:

Meaning, I'm sure something happens under the surface in that scene, but not sure exactly what anymore... it could be read the way you describe it.

I get the sense that Bruce is already aware of Clark's identity. He's deliberately trying to get under his skin w/ the "freak" comment. Clark, however, doesn't appear to know about Bruce yet.

See, I think he knows given the manner and content of what he's asking. He's trying to reason with Bruce, similar to his "If I wanted you dead" line. He's asking how Bruce justifies the methods and manner of operation. Bruce is throwing some angry hypocrisy back in Clark's face, with a big side of sarcasm. I reads to much like they both know to me.

You could be right, and I agree that it seems like they both know about each other based on their behavior. What throws me off is how Clark initially didn't seem to know who Bruce was, as demonstrated by him asking a fellow reporter. Maybe he was just maintaining a front, but that seems unlikely to me.

Yeah, Ben really seems to have nailed everything except the voice IMO.

Wait a minute, Affleck did mention a certain "Thomas Crown Affair" moment at Lex's party when two characters interact, both knowing each other's identities, but not straight out saying that they do. The way it was written had us all assume he was talking about Bruce and Diana, but could it be he talked about Bruce and Clark?

I'll try to find the article where this was mentioned.

Hmmm you may be on to something there. Although in the article they were talking about this photo which is a different scene.

Yeah, I think it refers to Bruce and Diana. There was a rumour Wonder Woman could end with
Bruce meeting Diana, a flashback of sorts which would 'lead in' to the events of BvS.
But we'll see.

Yeah, it was about Wondy:

"Batman and Wonder Woman have a meeting of alter-egos as Bruce Wayne and Diana Prince parry and flirt at a high-society function. “I love the fact that there was this Thomas Crowne Affair, Bond-y sexy scene that they wrote about two people who are pretending to be two different people who each know the secrets of the other person,” says Ben Affleck."

Then it appears that everyone knows everyone's identity. :funny:

And I wanted a Bond-y, sexy scene between Clark and Bruce. :csad:

It is interesting to note how that final "Is she with you moment" does sort of decrease the idea that Bruce knows Diana and her secret from way back or something

My guess is that he'll notice her on few occasions (possibly being around Lex) and would suspect there is more than meets the eye with her, maybe even learn a part of her plans (he is the detective after all), but won't really know who is she exactly or where she's from. He might start to suspect that she is working with Supes at one point.

Yeah I think he will know who she is, but he probably thinks she is on Superman's side.

Also I gotta say…let's not take teh scruffy for granted. It's the first for a live action Batman and Affleck rocks it.
