I've seen a lot of discussion pertaining to Ben's Batman voice, but the way he speaks as Bruce Wayne deserves some recognition as well. Normally, Ben has a higher pitch to his voice, but, in the trailer, it comes across more gravelly and emphatic.

I found both his tone and manner of speaking, when talking to Clark, to be fantastic. The smirk response to the initial Clark question is awesome, he just seems to be boiling under the surface which is awesome.

Guys, come on, Ben is THE BATMAN, and his voice is really great too (better than Bale's)! Don't understand why all the negative criticism.

I'll just say this. In that one scene, Cavill's Clark Kent voice was far superior to Affleck's Bruce Wayne voice, both in terms of how they suit the character and also the general voice.

I remember there being talk about how Cavill may not hold up to Affleck in terms of acting, but I've gotta say Cavill was just much better in this trailer. Not just Clark Kent, but his Superman voice is so spot on.

The final part of the trailer accentuates this so much. Supes has a strong, clear, authoritative voice and then Batman has this weird "I thought she was with you" line. It just sounds abnormal, and it's only made worse when he's talking to a guy with a completely opposite, healthy sounding voice.

I really hope Ben gets his shot at a solo Batman movie... Has that been confirmed yet? I'd love to see his Bats removed from all the cartoon garbage on display in this last trailer.

...Gotta say though, I think Superman is being handled pretty spot-on.

I prefer Batman to speak like a "normal" guy, but with some bass.

It's only one scene so it's hard to really judge, but the more I watch it the more I'm left feeling like Affleck is really doing nothing particularly special in this role. It just feels like Ben Affleck as Ben Affleck.
You've been sippin' on tha hatorade for a while now, nothing new here.

I can't understand the "I see Ben Affleck" thing that some poeple have going on...I loved him in the trailer, since the moment Bruce responded to Clark at the beginning of the new trailer I was sold on Bruce voice and manerism.

I may not be an expert on all things Affleck but he seemed to act different to what I've seen of him on other movies. I see Bruce Wayne and I prefer that to Bale's exageration of public Wayne and Growling Batman...I don't think that is great acting to be honest..Bale was not bad of course but he was in no way my favororite thing of Nolan's trilogy (which I like btw).

Ben Affleck's face is just terrifying.

This is a long time coming, the majority of the people saying 'I just see Affleck' are the same people that made it clear they weren't going to give him a chance when his casting was first announced, they think talking like Affleck isn't performing well somehow confirms their previous bias.

That's true, but I think it goes both ways. Many (not all) who are pro Affleck in the role spout "HATER" as soon as someone gives a legit reason as to why they're critical.

Not all. I hated this casting. Stomped my feet and yelled at the heavens, but everything up to this past trailer had me completely buying him. Especially the comic con trailer. This past trailer with the corniness of the last line and hearing more of his Wayne came off a little cheesy, but that was the whole vibe of the trailer. I still think he'll do a good performance, but not as good as I thought he would be from all other indications. It just seems I like all the scenes with Irons who was bringing out the best in him in the other trailers.

I hated how he put his hands up for the doomsday blast. Umm how about trying to do something. Get out or something. You're Batman. Or just take the blast on. I thought this was going to be an angry ready to die Batman. He just looked like a whimp getting ready for the blast.

And he swears too! MY Batman don't swear like a trooper! :o

I hear you, but I think that's just editing for the trailer and that scene doesn't play out just like that.

I get that feeling too.... very well could've been doomsday trying to blast supes or someone else and Batman was just witnessing it. I think Batman would've attempted something if he was really about to be toast.

But seriously....he looked adorable strapped in to that chair lol

Fair, but I see way more of the "I only see Affleck" than I see people saying "Affleck is the best Batman we'll ever see". A lot of people are saying things like "Affleck is doing so well" or "Affleck really convinces as Bruce and Batman", but it doesn't seem as extreme as the counter-points where people seem to be saying it's literally only Affleck in a suit or Affleck in the bat suit doing no acting, just doing "Afflecky" stuff.

Now is it possible that Affleck is such a big name that people have trouble separating him from the role? Sure. But I think a lot of people conditioned themselves into that belief with their first reactions, the moment he was announced people said "He'll never pull it off" and most folk that are persisting with it are looking for the most far-fetched "evidence" to justify that opinion.

Honestly, and from as objective a place as I can humanly go, I think he's doing an acceptable to great job depending on which scene we're talking about. I think the scene with the little girl is well done on his part, the interaction with Lex/Clark at the party feels like what a jaded Bruce would say and do in response to a clearly leading question about Batman. Is he going to be as iconic as people perceive Conroy or Keaton to be? Possibly not, but I think he's doing a damn good job of giving a good rendition of the character. There's a range from him too, he seems prickly but aloof at the party, but quite obviously intense and animated when he talks about "Superman bringing the war to us", so people saying he's not doing much are clearly biased.

And beyond that, he looks the most like Bruce Wayne in terms of physique and resemblance as I've seen on film.

I just watched that Good Morning America video with Affleck. Is something wrong with his left eye? I noticed it on Kimmel the other day too. He just looked... strange.

Affleck's looked a bit off since all the stuff in his personal life happened, he's probably just tired as hell these days. He'll probably seem similar throughout the press for this movie.

Whatever it is, I hope it's not the Bob Costas Sochi sh**. That was horrifying.

I loved his Wayne in this trailer, and i didn't mind the last line. I have faith that it will play out better in the actual movie. But the armored suit is doing nothing for me right now. And i still can't get behind this Lex or Doomsday. They're gonna have to convince me in March with that.

I get what you're saying with the blast. It could be a different scene. But yeah, it might just be instinct. That's what any of us would do. But at the same time, the guy has missiles and s**t, so why isn't Batman going into...BATMAN mode?

Yea I think all the fears I had when Affleck was first casted are coming back. He looks alright in the suit but his mannerisms are to Afflecky and it seems like he put no effort into his voice for the Batman persona and then they just modulated it in Post but it just sounds like Ben Affleck with a modulated voice. Much like in the Avengers when they have the hulk speak after the scene with Loki.. Just awful. I mean Bale might have gone over the top with the voice in TDK and TDKRises but at least he was putting in the effort. I don't know, hopefully I'm wrong and Affleck will be great. I mean in still photos ect he looks amazing, so hopefully this trailer was just cut together by an ignoramus that picked the worst examples of Ben as bats.

Zack probably told him to lower his voice a bit and they'll just put an effect on it to make it sound mechanical. His voice for Bruce is deeper than his regular voice, probably because his natural voice is high.

I guarantee there won't be much difference in voice or his mannerisms/behavior when it comes to Bruce Wayne and Batman. Public Bruce will be smart, suave, take no **** businessman. Private Bruce will be the same minus the suave, a little more depressive and angry in front of Alfred. And then Batman will be the exact same thing as his private Bruce but with a slight mechanical touch.

I did notice how he acts in the batsuit at the end, when he's saying "oh ****" or "i thought she was with you". It's Affleck/Wayne in a suit. His eyes, not the sound of his voice but the way he says it. Just a guy in a suit.

I've always tended to dismiss the whole "I only see the actor, not the character" so-called "criticism," because it's meaningless. That happens when you cast, it just does. I don't see Iron Man, I see RDJ playing a role. I don't see Captain America, I see Chris Evans playing a role. I don't see Ra's al Ghul, I see Liam Neeson playing a role, and so on and so forth. And you know what, it doesn't bother me because that's what's happening. It's an actor playing a role, and all that I care about is do they play it well. I VERY rarely see an actor completely disappear into the role, especially in CBM's. The last one that REALLY did that was probably Heath Ledger, who was nigh unrecognizable as The Joker.

And thus far, from what I've seen of Affleck, the answer seems to be yes.
