Chapter 43 - “It's Coming” – Discussion Thread 11/17/08

Well she has no one or any where to go and HRG wasn't there when she needed him.

She had Claire and Peter. And she was basically accepted into the Bennett household for a brief moment in time. No reason for her to go attacking HRG in the next episode.

ok, so i guess I'm caught up now, but geez.... they took away peter's powers??? Thats stupid... And sylar and arthur are like uber powerful (well until next week). So even if they get repowered, we won't get to see Peter vs Sylar 3. whats the point of watching then?

I think they've fought a bit more than 3 times. I'm sure Pete'll get his powers back after the eclipse anyway.

Except that they all are supposed to lose there powers.

Because he felt so bad after killing Papa Walker.... or Charlie... or attempting to kill Peter.... or Isaac..... or attempting to kill Peter again.... or Ted....

Hey, you're the one saying those killings had depth not me. :)

Um. You have no idea what I just said... do you?

You suggested that the turn around wasn't just a product of this season and it was starting way back in season one... and I brought up all the times that say it wasn't.... and wasn't even in the cards.

I truly don't think that Sylar wanted to kill but did because he felt he had no choice at all, as far as he knew he couldnt stop it so he chose to just do what he felt and the urge to do. Now he doesnt want to do that because he feels that he can control it and wants no more innocents to die because of him. He never really liked the killing he just wanted the power. So its not that hard to see him make this sudden of the turn.

Of course... he hated killing Ted so much, it's not like he hung out on top of a building to practice the power with a huge smirk on his face.

How can Claire or Peter relate to Elle:huh: Elle hates Claire because Claire has what Elle always wanted, a loving family. Peter has nothing in common with Elle either.

Um no, I didn't suggest it, someone else did. I overlooked what could of been that product from previous seasons.....

I said that the fact that it was there could support anyone who feels it wasn't rushed.... :)

I for one do feel it was rushed, but I like the character better this way. That's all I've been saying. :D

Great episode...except Hiro is donnnneee. Get rid of him :cmad:

Oh and Sylar having the same powers as Peter is pretty lame

What was the whole point of sending Hiro to Africa? I thought his character was actually going to progress and become bad ass future hiro but they make him into a ten year old? What? Seriously...you just seriously wasted TWO episodes to tell us stuff we could of figured out.

2 weeks. 2 weeks and NOTHING has happened. C'mon, man.

I'm still holding out hope that this will get better. I really hope so.

What I did like;
The whole Matt/Angela/Papa Petterilli/Daphne scene. Well shot and edited
The ending scene was good. Nice seeing the sides setup. Even though the good side is way weak.
....and thats it.

I hope next week turns out better. *crosses fingers*

Could someone explain the catalyst thing real quick? I wasn't really paying attention at that point. Is she a catalyst for all powers?

I'm watching it now and ... wow, way to cheaply copy Watchmen in the beginning scene??

Yeah I said Watchmen as soon as I saw it too. Did they film this episode before the Watchmen trailer came out? Haven't these episodes been done for quite a while?

And the further neutering of Sylar continues. Now, instead of having to take powers by cutting off the top of a person's head, he can now, like former President Bill Clinton, feel another person's pain. Oh, and let's have the literal sparks fly between him and Elle, complete with each of them bathed in sweat and Zachario Quinto shirtless to get the female viewer all hot and heavy. :whatever: Even so, the way that "therapy session" was shot, especially the backlit of Sylar as he's being zapped was incredible...although very, very reminiscent of Watchmen.

Oh, and while we're at it, let's make Hiro even more annoying by giving him the brain of a 10 year old kid. Sure, it's funny seeing Ando teach Hiro how to use his powers, not to mention Hiro's reaction to the comics ("Captain America dead! Spider-Man reveals his secret identity! Hulk is red! What on Earth is going on?!") but you can be sure this gimmick will get old real fast.

Oh, and Tracy decides to work for Arthur, and Daphne switches sides, and MohinDUH! now feels sorry for experimenting on people. It's all about shifting alligences, i.e. character inconsistency.

Still, there was some good moments. Peter, for once, actually used his head to defeat the bad guys, so there are assets of him not having powers that he can be dependant upon and still come off as a hero. And the scene in which Matt is in Angela's mind and discovering the truth about Daphne has that touch of the surreal.

Oh well, at least we get two episodes worth of nobody having powers.

I pretty much refuse to believe that it's just a coincidence haha

Maybe their twins... wat I wanna know is wat happened to sylars "figuring out how things work" ability?

They referenced Watchmen twice! Once, with Sylar being scorched, and twice, with Hiro throwing his arms up in glee: "I did it!"

Aside from that, I'm happy with the direction of this season. Interested to find out where this Sylar and Elle relationship may head.

It just depends on when this episode was shot. We know Watchmen didn't copy Heroes so...I doubt this is a coincidence either but wouldn't that be crazy if it was? If someone could find out the shooting date???

Of course... he hated killing Ted so much, it's not like he hung out on top of a building to practice the power with a huge smirk on his face.

LOL. He also hated killing an innocent little girl's parents, then coming back to kill her. That probably just broke his heart.

This season has gone downhill. the first 4 eps were great, then it started getting sloppy. I'm glad the writers were fired becasue they were making it up as they went along.

Heroes is good, but it's not even close to being on par with Lost. Lost is the best show ever created. 1/21/09
