Chapter 7: "Out of Time" Discussion 11/5/07

they're not gonna pull a "he had the virus" out of their asses. It'd make no sense. Sylar couldn't fire the bullets back as fast as a gun.

They've never actually said how he died, and seeing as how they like to put a twist on some things everyone once in a while its very possible he died in some other way than bullets or he may not be dead at all because the preview said something like "what happened to DL." not how did he die.

There are more subtle ways to deal with it than bringing the story line to a halt right as the show builds up momentum.

it's not at a halt. I'm sure everything we're seeing now will be reflected in the episode.

I like this show and all, but I'm getting pissed at the blatant plagiarism in the storylines.

last year it was watchmen, this year is magneto's driving force in the x-men movies, what's next?

This was never an issue for me. I could care less personally.

Um, do you ever not complain? I have not once seen you say anything positive about the show. Seriously, take a deep breath, realize the writers' intentions. I think it's quite cool how they build up tension and leave it as a cliffhanger. It's nothing new. It's worke din the past for various tv shows, movie, books, etc. It'll work now. Shut up.

Matt: Complain complain complain even when the show is picking up

Excuse me, when have I ever been anything but polite to either of you? Are you really that insecure in your tastes that my stating an opinion, positive or negative calls for you to be rude?

I mean, really, is Abaddon the only one in this forum who knows how to hold a polite debate?

So are we assume that after Adam fell of the ledge with Hiro's dad; that he just got up and walked away?

Potentionally. However Maury seems to be doing the grunt work, so possibly Maury made an illusion that made kaito fall. And if Monroe was locked up by the company, would Kaito have suspected Monroe, as he has motive to kill them. And Kaito clearly said "out of all of them I never expected you" or something along those lines.

I'm not calling myself rude, Matt. It's just that you were the very one wishing the pacing would pick up and we start to get answers and well next episode looks to provide answers and this week picked up the pace.

Damn Hiro made me cry tonight. :(

Perhaps. Never-the-less, it feels tedious and unnecessary this time around.

You can view and download the commercial for next week's "Four Months Ago" here

I totally agree with your complaint about the pacing

I said very clearly that I feel the pacing picked up. And now they are bringing it to a halt again to back track when most of the questions presented this season (as opposed to last season) can be shown through plot and dialogue in the current time the show is set.

I hardly think that critique warrants your rude response.

Now we are seeing the biggest problem with Heroes. The story finally picks up after over a quarter of a season. We get a geniunely interesting episode with some pay off towards the end and a huge lead in for the next episode. But opps, the next episode isn't chronologically next and now they have to do a "four months ago" episode. Do we really need to know? Couldn't it have been pieced together what happened to Sylar and Peter through the season? Couldn't we have just assumed DL died from his gun shot wound?

Call me impatient all you want. The writers for this show are horrible at pacing a story line.
Matt... I like you man, but ****

The story is building up so smoothly and it's supposed to be this way. The writers are supposed to tell you a story and they are doing their job in a great manner, if you ask me. Chronology is not a rule, but a tool for the writer, the same goes with Deus Ex Machina. If you know what you are doing and if you know how to use that tool at your advantage you can have a clever way of storytelling that is quite out of the norm. Heroes is never on the norm. It's a series about Superheroes.

You should jump in and watch The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya... it's an anime but then again it's not just cartoons for kids and that anime has built a great cult in the genre... All of the episodes are messed up but the story still flows naturally... same with the movie Memento... if you know what you are doing you could have great pieces like Stardust (uses a lot of Deus Ex Machina) or you could have ****ty ones like Harry Potter and the Deadly Hollows (the same as Stardust, but done in a crappy way)

I don't post here much but the past few episodes have been dragging to me. I don't have much faith either for the season of this show hence this writer's strike.

I find the parallelisms to X-Men annoying and kind of frustrating that no one who watched this at school sees it except you guys.

Are we really going to play "The artistic value of this show is so much higher than everything else that it excuses bad pacing" card?

Okay in all seriousness im just telling you what i think and im not trying to be rude but, when it all comes down to it were all really excited for this show and are for the most part enjoying the show and enjoying talking about here but everytime a episode comes out your as negative and a sort of buzzkill. Im not trying to be rude and you are entitled to your own opinion but come on its getting a little old if you dont like the show then dont watch it.
