Crowd Reports!!!

Just like what many people probably already said in this thread, my whole theater clapped when Superman broke Zod's neck. They also clapped as the movie ended.

I also LOVED at a dude in front of me was geeking out when Jor-El summoned that Kryptonian beast.

Seen the film twice so far, and each screening was pretty crowded. During the film itself, I don't recall much reactions outside of the one jerk finding his truck destroyed following the confrontation at the bar, and the "I just think he's kinda hot." line, which both times got alot of laughs. However, both showings ended with a pretty good applause.

UK theater so NOTHING

Quiet coming in.
Film starts.
Odd bit of laughter.
Everyone walks out quietly.
Boringggg.

Saw it earlier today in IMAX 2D. Great crowd of at least 300. Sold out. And like the previous two screenings I had, they reacted to all the right moments. However, there were a bunch of cheers during the final battle between Zod and Superman. There were legit gasps when
Zod offed Superman.
The final five minutes ended with a large standing ovation.

UK theatres.... :funny:
When I watched the Avengers, TASM and TDKR there was silence.

10 PM Navy Pier IMAX showing yesterday.

HUGE crowd. All 440 seats were filled.

Crowd laughed, clapped, cheered at the appropriate parts
Including Zod's death.

Round of applause.

The crowd was pretty mellow, though they did laugh a few times. I heard a few sobs near the ending. That ending scene is PERFECT :)

The GA wouldn't say "couldn't capture the magic of S:TM"
Most of the GA want an action movie and they have gotten it. :funny:
That guy is hilarious...

So, you represent all of GA now? You know what they would or would not say?

Most of my friends have seen it already... and except for a very minority few who simply loved it, the majority thought it was just ok, more like a 'meh'... and they thought it didn't have the 'magic'... it was not 'fun and entertaining... too brooding and dark'...

And no, most people aren't into movies 'just for action'... they want to be entertained...

Even the critics who loved the movie said it was missing that all important ingredient.. 'magic'... (they may use different words to describe it)

So, stop being nasty towards anyone who disagree with you...

There was no "magic" when Superman first appeared in the suit.

Nice try General Zod's #1 fan....we know what REALLY happened.

:oldrazz: *Places head in shame in denial* Plus, I'm more of Team Faora lol.

And I said this in the "Little Things You Appreciated/Loved" thread so I figure I'd put it here(INB4 that's what she said jokes).

My IMAX showing today had some people on their feet when Zod got attacked by Supes after he threatened Martha. I just get goosebumps thinking about it.

I thought there were several magical moments. Young kent with the blanket, the part where Superman is first shown with heat vision, the angry Reeve face as he charges toward Lois, pretty much any other scene with Pa Kent.

Special mention goes to: DO NOT THREATEN MY MOTEHR!

I thought him flying for the first time was really exciting. Not entirely magical, but close.

I mean more specifically when the ship opened to reveal him wearing the suit for the first time. I really did not like Jor-El's info to Clark so when it cuts to him wearing it I just didn't feel it. What I thought was an awesome shot in the trailer didn't effect me the same way in the movie.

Saw it for the fourth time.

I enjoyed it even more.

Thursday, friday, saturday, could you believe the public reaction gets more enthusiastic as time passes since the day the film hit theatres around here?

I was kinda surprised when I saw it the second time and the theater laughed when Superman snapped Zod's neck. I obviously knew it was coming the second time, but I remember watching it the first time an that moment seemed to drag out for a long time, but in a good way because it was a tense moment. But it really shocked me, whereas the most reaction I heard the second time was someone saying "You can snap an alien's neck? Now I've seen everything."

Morbid bastards.

:hehe:

A Dad and his 2 sons were to my left. Dad said "oh S**T", the kid next to me gasped. I said "DAMN" aloud, but at the end of the movie there was applause sprinkled throughout. I think there was a lone "woo!" as well lol.

I hate to say this , but I saw little boys in the row in front of me reenacting the neck snap ( not on each other) . Several people said oh **** and damn. Internally I was thinking , "good job Superman".

Lemme guess...they LOVE the Twilight series though, right?

No idea. Another female friend thought that it was sequel of SR. She was disappointed when I told her it was a reboot. She likes routh a lot I guess.

I think what was worse was in the scene where the boys drag Clark out of the car and try to fight him, the guy sitting next to me in my first viewing (who was very obnoxious throughout the whole film) said "Man, if that was me, I would've just squeezed those kids necks with my hands. Imagine that, seeing blood and guts pop all over the screen! It'd be awesome!"

my theater was pretty full.

don't know how many people that is, but it was pretty much filled up.

my crowd laughed at the appropriate times. like the truck on a pole scene and the "he's kind of hot" line.

the "I was raised in Kansas" line got cheers and applause. that really made us Kansans proud!!!

at the end of the film, there was some applause, and I don't think I've ever heard that before!!!

and when Superman snapped Zod's neck, the lady next us gasped and said "but Superman doesn't kill!"

I do think my crowd was into the movie. and I hope they enjoyed it. they certainly weren't a "dead"/silent crowd.
