I wouldn't say I prefer the outlandish fantasy of his stories, but I don't need all the unnecessary details about how he fights crime, his inner monologuing while inspecting crime scenes; takes away from the story at hand honestly.

You know, I wouldn't mind a sorta, surreal nightmarish "fairytale" Batman movie. Maybe with Scarecrow (done properly) or Mad Hatter as villains. More focus on the mythological aspects of the character, rather than the whole crime procedural angle.

It'd be interesting to see Del Toro or Cuaron's take.

Didn't the Burton films do that already? Also, I don't think "nightmarish fairy tale" works particularly well for Batman.

Yea, more of a middle ground between Burton and Nolan.

Some of my favourite Batman stories have been in that style, like Morrison's Arkham Asylum GN. Morrison's run in general has a lot of surreal, mythological elements.

****, i'd be happy with a straight up adaptation of Arkham Asylum by Del Toro or Cuaron. Delves into the psychology and mythology of Batman rather than the actual crime fighting aspect. And would make for some lush visuals.

Speaking of which, I'd love to see Morrison's Arkham Asylum: A Serious House On Serious Earth adapted to the screen as a psychological thriller, perhaps in the vein of Shutter Island. It's one of my favorite Batman stories and resonates with me on a personal level. I only hope that a film adaptation could retain its psychological insight into Batman, and the way it creates unease and uncertainty about Batman's sanity.

Yea that's what i mean, that story is great and could make for a really cool film.

At the very least, I'd love to have an animated film adaptation of Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth. Talk about the ultimate acid trip.

I'd love an animated Gaslight film myself.

Batman tackling the world's most notorious, dangerous and/or brilliant serial killers across history like Jack The Ripper, Vlad Tepes, The Zodiac Killer, etc has always attracted me so F**KING much.

Hell, I'd love a video game adaptation. It could be a great psychological horror game a la the Condemned series or Eternal Darkness.

Depends on the Box Office, obviously. Sony wrapped up Spider Man with tons of free cash, they waited what, 2 years! We're going to see a New Batman film starring Robert Pattinson in 2014.

It was 5 years. :o

When you haven't had a new Bat film in 3 years, it seems like everything else comes out faster.v :(

Whenever they do it, they need to include Harley Quinn, IMO. (big surprise, I guess haha.)

I can't believe she was left out of TDK, honestly. There was so much potential for her, even if her role wasn't so large.

They'd recast the Joker, obviously and it can be done and eventually will be done. I know Nolan despised Harley and it's why she wasn't in any of the films (so I read) but get a ner director...:woot:

I just don't want to wait so long. ASAP, please!

I remember reading of characters he wouldn't want to use, but I don't remember him despising any character, Harley Quinn or anyone else.

He never said he despised anybody, i never even read him saying anything about harley

5 years

2012- Dark Knight Rises

2013- Man of Steel

2015/2016- Man of Steel sequel

2017- New Batman

2018/2019- Justice League movie introducing Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash and reintroducing Green Lantern.

I think they should make a Flash movie before Justice League.

What rock have you been living under?

He and I have been living under the same one apparently cause I never heard any **** like that either. I mean is there a link to a story where he states this somewhere or something? I'm not even a Harley Quinn fan at all but considering how many modern fans who swear by Nolan's movies only really know BTAS & love that stupid character I just can't see Nolan saying something like that.
