Considering the huge unfair backlash thanks to the closed minded hard core fans of the original "classic masterpiece", it's no surprising. It may turn out an amazing movie, its destiny is already decided. I hope those haters are now satisfied, they did an excellent job ruining the chances of this promising looking movie.

To be quite honest what film released in february ever has much faith from the studio in it? That's usually why those films are released in feb, which is sort of a dumping ground between the post awards season and the start of the spring movie season.

the story will be good. by all the leaked info we know that the story will be interesting. so what? soooo what? this is not a book where its all about the story. if i read the story i have everything i need. the movie needs to be a good movie.
like my problem with Planet Apes prequel. its a bad edited bad made movie with a good story and good performance from WETA and Serkins. Franco is insuliting boring. ohh and Lithgow was good. so what? so what?
the robocop movie to be good needs to be a good edited movie with good acting and good action on top on good story. the suit looks lazy and boring. it looks like a black futuristic suit that every kid with zbrush and 3ds max has modeled for the last 8 years.

If this film truly has been dumped by the studio February release date and lack of publicity "could" be read as indications of this...

Then I think we can blame an average script (read it) poor design work (seen it) and studio interference (JP talked of it)

In my opinion it probably won't be the fault of the director, or cast - who seem to have the best intentions.

I'll still be going to see it on opening night as I am a fan of the "Original Masterpiece" which I have loved since its original release.

If the studio screw this up, by watering it down and making it a bland, Robocop in name only (RINO) then it is their own greedy fault & although I have no desire to see any artistic endeavour fail (unless it is truly evil!) then I won't shed a tear. This is a story than can be retold but it must respect the original work and not belittle it.

Indeed. Movies usually get rated by them about two weeks before the US release. Trailers, however, are often rated rather last minute. They're often released online the same day as the rating, but up to a week. Two weeks in more rare cases. However, these are just trends, not rules. It could come out in December if they decided.

I don't see any big Sony/Columbia/MGM pictures coming out that soon for it to be obviously attached to, but Riddick seems like the best candidate for a theatrical release in the next two weeks.

I pray this trailer wows me.

I want this movie to appeal to me, at the very least, in the same way Dredd and the original RoboCop does, ultra violence or not.

Also, I really do hope Cain shows up in the sequel, should one get made. Or at least throw in a reference to Nuke.

Ahh good ol Nuke, that whole generic drug thing was such a product of the late 80's and I loved it, remembering the "ssssssss" sound it made when they shot it up haha

its not about dark colors. its about pure black color. there is no interesting breakup. you add brighter and darker colors so that in distance shots you have interesting shapes moving. concept artist and designers spend months on designs that work in close ups and in wide shots.

its a heavy robot. yet the colors and material looks like light plastic. and it looks clean. it looks to clean for a robot who walks outside on the street.

I actually pondered the same thing when I first saw the reveal of the black suit, personally I'm more excited to see the other prototype versions of the suit, I'm not a hater of the new suit I just don't particularly like it much.

Hopes for a sequel are dead, and the way the end of the script sounded was interesting but I hope this film kinda stay solo and I'm a complete supporter of it.

I'd love a RoboCop sequel to NOT go into the direction of RoboCop or a clone of him being evil and they fight. I don't know what else there is to do, but that's just my take.
