If you had told me two weeks ago that it'd be doing this well I wouldn't've believed you. Now I'm not all to surprised given how many of my friends have seen it and how many are saying that they're definitely gonna see it again when they have the chance.
What're the chances of this doing avatar numbers domestically? Marvel Studios deserves nothing less.

Go back 5 years. Its pretty amazing what Marvel has accomplished in that time span. Kevin Feige has done a fantastic job and should get props from everybody.

He hired joss whedon. He gave him the freedom to rewrite penn's lame ass script. He kept disney at bay. Hes an actual fan of marvel comics. The guy has had to make some compromises like any movie exec, and im2 did kinda suck, but yeah he deserves major props. He will be handsomely rewarded.

it's a pity he wasn't the producer of SM3

Lol is this Germany in 1941? I'll post whatever the hell I want. And to be clear, I wasn't defending "Nolan's honor" just refuting this ridiculous notion that Nolan is ashamed of the comic roots of the character. And the irony is that you guys were the ones talking about Nolan on the avengers board. If your gonna bring it up and spout nonsense that isn't remotely true then be prepared to discuss it. I liked the avengers and simply came here to say so. It's funny every time I visit here people are going out of their way to bash the batman films. I sense an inferiority complex.

just adding my 2 cents... Nolan did not want to catch 100% of batman's roots in his movies, but he did had a great unique vision that was widely recognized...
But wat Joss Whedon did here was pure fan service and a great hold of an ensemble cast
oh and btw avengers 200$mill opening weekend :wow:

Agreed, Fiege is the man. Never understood why people give him crap, he's pretty much the reason we have five fantastic films that truly have that Marvel feel to them.

I've enjoyed nolan's batman but I'll be glad to see the back of him so we can get a batman that is closer to the comics and have his full range of villians not just the villians that fit within a realistic world.

I enjoyed ruffalo(sp) HULK but I would have preferred norton for continuity (plus I'm a norton fan), but other than that fiege did good.

That's all what the Batman fans want. Paul Dini and Bruce Timm NEED to be involved with Batman's reboot and more than that, the DC Movieverse itself.

Oh, I disagree. The only Marvel movie I never did see, until the Marathon, was TIH, and it was because I just do not like Norton. He just oozes "little prick" everywhere, and I simply cannot see him as a good guy/role model in any movie. I'm definitely looking forward to Bourne Legacy, where Jeremy Renner/Hawkeye might have a chance to beat the crap out of him.

Having Mark Ruffalo play Bruce was the best decision that twirped fans this movie did. He's just a much more likable guy.

Green: The Avengers
Yellow: OW record

The "told you so" feeling is a very good feeling to have, yes indeed.

There's no way in hell TDKR is beating 200m opening weekend.

The question is more if TDKR can top TDK's adjusted OW gross($172M). If it can(and I'm not entirely sure about that) then it could possibly challenge TA for record # of tickets sold(TDKR would need to exceed $175-180M to do that).

Disney made a deal with the theatre chains it seems, maybe a slightly bigger cut of the Avengers ticket money for an extra screen for John Carter?
It's because of all the drive-in double features that pop up in the midwest, this week it was a TA/JC double feature. Wouldn't be surprised if people just went to watch TA and left before JC started :hehe:

Anyone who saw the Avengers trailers?

the trailers confirmed that it would go over 1Billion....
but i though it would take some time to get the GA to get movin...boy was i wrong
