Yup. If you asked Whedon to expand on his comments he would probably mention Donner & Singer as well, but I think it was obvious he is just trying to put a damper on the inevitable 'my d##ks bigger than your d##k' stuff Marvel & DC fans can get involved in.

It think it goes more like "my favorite comic cook company's dick is bigger than your favorite company's dick". :oldrazz:

Lol, true. In fact it's worse than that. It's more like "Their **** is bigger than those other guys.'" It's like in football: "Hey, we won!!!" "No, dude, THE PLAYERS won, you were just watching." :cwink:

I don't know if the lack of mentioning Singer was intentional or not. If it was, it probably has something to do with the fact that Singer slaughtered his script. He doesn't take to kindly to that. Hear some of the comments he has to say about Donald Sutherland and his work on the Buffy movie.

Castiel loves you guys for helping to make this movie a success

I hate that people forget that Steven Norrington's "Blade" preceded that film by two whole years.

Blade is a little different, he's never portrayed as a 'superhero'. Its never a 'superhero' movie in the same way others were. Its a vamp horror based on a comic. That isn't to say it didn't give people more confidence when approaching comic book material just like Men in Black but there is a difference between Blade the vampire and X Men.

Hmm, could end up with $270-275M DOM going into this weekend and that's better than my initial prediction Sunday night of it being around $260-265M. It should at the very least be at $365M by weekend's end and very possibly as much as $380M. Looks like the fastest to a billion record of 19 days will at least get another member besides Avatar & HP8.

Wow! That bolded part is especially...bold. :word:

It's true. Bay would do a better job on an Avengers sequel then Singer. I'm not saying I want him I was saying I'd take him over Singer. That's how much i dislike this man's directing skills for movies of this genre.

Blade is a anti hero and his own film gave way to more comic films from Marvel.

Blade 1&2 are awesome, Blade 3 sucked donkey balls. Ryan Reynolds is poison to comic book films.

What did you think of X2?

It will be nothing less than monumental for The Avengers to join this exclusive 1 billion club. Once this has been accomplished, I hope they will have a shot for 2 billion milestone.

Personally, I was hoping Ryan Reynolds would have some success in CBM because he is an actual comic fan in real life, and maybe it had influenced ScarJo, his ex-wife, to take on the BW role. But none of his CB movies have panned out (Blade 3, XMO, and GL). If he plays Deadpool, a character that will be extremely difficult to be adapted for big screen, I don't think the chances are high for that movie to succeed, either.

Ryan Reynolds and Mark Steven Johnson are proof that just because you are a comic book fan doesn't mean you automatically know how to make a good comic book movie.

Personally TA shows even more the flaws in the X-Men movies. They're both team films but one seems balanced with regards to it's characters and the other is tremendously lopsided. And don't even get me started on the FF films.

Well, Reynold doesn't make movies, only stars in them. However, MSJ does and he is solely responsible for Daredevil's failure as a movie.

The one thing I'm worried about hurting it's chances is the other two films truly had 19 days, where as Avengers will only be at 10-11 days in the states at the 19 day mark, which hurts it's chances a bit. Still, even with this handicap, it can happen!

So how are definite is $500 M domestic now, all of my analyst buddies?

Daredevil and Ghost Rider.

Well, after the second week this movie will be more than halfway to 500 mil domestically, so I believe it will definitely happen. It might have to crawl its way to the finish line, but it will get there.

It's about halfway there now. A 17.5M tuesday puts it at 244M DOM. It'll be nearly 75% of the way there after next weekend. $500M was pretty much a certainty by last Sunday. $600M is the one it may just crawl to.

You mean Wolverine and the Xmen, where the team leader known as Cyke disappears for most of the movie. It was entertaining, better then X1. Singer had zero balance of the characters. It's supposed to be a team movie and it wasn't. I'm 50/50. It was a good movie but not a good Xmen movie. James Marsden probably shot his scenes in a day or two and his lines was on one sheet. I just don't have the love for Singer that so many. it's my opinion. I just don't see these great films. He made entertaining Xfilms that didn't suck. People complain about the F4 films and rightly so but at least Story developed all the characters enough where their lines and screen time was pretty even.
