600 M seems a little much imo. I could see it crawling past $550 though.
It's about halfway there now. A 17.5M tuesday puts it at 244M DOM. It'll be nearly 75% of the way there after next weekend. $500M was pretty much a certainty by last Sunday. $600M is the one it may just crawl to.
I'm holding out hope that TA will make a 100 mil its second weekend. Keeping fingers crossed.

Although I said TA may crawl to 500M, I think it really depends on its legs and this weekend's gross will give us a better picture on what kind of box office it will generate in the end. If TA can make 100 mil or more in its second weekend, I think 500 mil is not just possible, but 600 mil is within reach.
500 million is a lock. You are probably looking at 580-620. 650-700 is not completely out of the question if the rest of the movies this month stagnate.
Chris Hemsworth in back-to-back-to-back with "Cabin in the Woods", "The Avengers", and "Snow White & The Hunstaman".Yeah I would be shocked to see 700M, but I think 600 is very doable, considering other than Prometheus there is literally nothing worth watching between now and when TASM and Brave open.
Snow White could be good. I'm torn on that one. It may totally suck.
Personally TA shows even more the flaws in the X-Men movies. They're both team films but one seems balanced with regards to it's characters and the other is tremendously lopsided. And don't even get me started on the FF films.
I like X2 (far more than the other X-films) but I agree Avengers has shown that you can give sufficient time to all the team members and the film does not suffer as a result. In fact it vastly improves because of it.You mean Wolverine and the Xmen, where the team leader known as Cyke disappears for most of the movie. It was entertaining, better then X1. Singer had zero balance of the characters. It's supposed to be a team movie and it wasn't. I'm 50/50. It was a good movie but not a good Xmen movie. James Marsden probably shot his scenes in a day or two and his lines was on one sheet. I just don't have the love for Singer that so many. it's my opinion. I just don't see these great films. He made entertaining Xfilms that didn't suck. People complain about the F4 films and rightly so but at least Story developed all the characters enough where their lines and screen time was pretty even.
im wondering if ticket sales will start dropping this week/weekend? anyways, it's made more than enough to warrant a sequel.
I'll be watching Snow White after that recent trailer. I've watched everything Pixar in the past but not convinced on Brave yet. Anything getting a view in the next couple of months has to justify not going to seeing Avengers even more times!Yeah I would be shocked to see 700M, but I think 600 is very doable, considering other than Prometheus there is literally nothing worth watching between now and when TASM and Brave open.

This is a good year for Odinson.
But try and see The Avengers again before Snow White.![]()

Who cares if The Avengers makes 600M or 700M domestically, either one would be mind blowing.![]()
Well, Potter 8 had 169 mil OW, which was the old record holder so anything after that is gravy, but I love how The Avengers not just broke the record but destroyed it completely with 207 mil OW. So for me, the higher it is the better it is, and if it can make 700 mil domestic I'll be ecstatic & over-the-moon about it.![]()
With you on that as well. Changing/limiting the role of the established leader is a big disservice to the fans even if it makes the film better (which it didn't). Some things should just be kept the same as the source material even if it's difficult to do (which in this case I see no reason why it would be). Imagine Cyke giving out the orders to the team like Cap did in NYC.More than that, it allowed the characters to be who they truly are. The Avengers wasn't afraid to make the straight-laced hero the leader of the group, like X2 was with Cyclops. The characters in The Avengers stayed in their own swim lane and it was all the better for it.
Would be very happy with that! Most up to date analysis (courtesy of BoxOffice.com Baumer):

Yeah but honestly I'm over the moon happy now, especially after people were saying it's gonna do "IM numbers".![]()
