So when does it finally get released in Japan?

August 17th. Not exactly sure why they get it so late while the rest of Far East Asia got it around the same time we did in the US.

Today or tommorrow it will hit 607... thats where i thought it would cap when it had its monster opening... I was wrong Im sticking with it ending around 620-625, but if it fades in the 615-620 range there will be no shame there... maybe when someone develops holographic theaters it will be rereleased and knock titanic off...

Based off of tasm box office performance I think Japan can only offer 15-20 million to avengers international box office

Sometime in August. I'm pleased for Spiderman's opening success, but to say that it beat TA for the biggest opening in Asia is suspect, when you consider that TA has yet to debut in Japan. Although by only 10% is very good; imagine if Japan had opened at the same time. I'm just saying.

For Japan it could be due to scheduling, theater booking, or even Japanese holidays.

It's amazing that TA can surpass movies that opened more than a month after its premiere. Hopefully there's enough gas in the tank for it to cross the 650 mil milestone.

Yup. Still is in the top ten as others drop out. It would make sense IMO some theaters to shift screens over to TA from those making less.

remember movies are limited by the amount of theater space to carry them. As more recent blockbusters come out the available viewing for TA will dwindle reducing the likelyhood of moviegoers choising it even if they want to see it... if it only has two showings a day someone may not wish to wait a long time to see it... the next few weeks it could see a dramatic drop....

The movie is only playing in 2 theathers in Charlotte now with only like 2 or 4 showings a day. Really curbed my ability to see it.

It's still playing in 5 theaters(well pre-4th anyway, haven't looked again), several times a day around here.

I'd really, really love for it to top Titanic(incl the3-D #s) at this point but know that is a pipe dream. Heck $500 million was a pipe dream so who knows, who knows?!!

Still in 5 theaters within 18 miles if me more outside but didn't bother to count. It's showing about 4 times at a couple of em and 1-2 times at the others.

Yeah, the largest theatre in Michigan has one regular and one 3D showings with only two times each. I paid to see it on July 4th and there were only 5 seats left and it was packed for the matinee. Why is anyone limiting the showings that much?

Maybe it's the 100 degree heat but I wasn't expecting a packed house on a holiday.

A brief bump of about 30-32% is what I'm seeing for about $718K on Wednesday.

What's really impressive is that it's now being shown in just 1300 theaters. TDK at this time still had 2100 theaters but was pulling only $300K.

Yes this was my one fear... that TA would get slowly knocked out of theaters by other new movies while it was still drawing well. Its also why I think they can and should rerelease it in august regardless of whether they add footage or not....
