I thought the lenses in TDK looked kinda cool.

*shrugs*

I thought they looked ok, a different shape would've been nice though, I'm definitely in the contacts camp though with the white eyes thing, have them be transparent when not in use.

Plus..............

Plus what? Are you seriously trying to say that we should base our expectations for an effect that could be performed in 2016 by one of the most skilled visual directors of all time on THIS???

Okay dude, we get it. You're a troll.

Thank you, will now disengage.

the lenses work only when they're expressive. They look great in stills but would get pretty dull being in one position all the time. That's a huge reason Affleck's performance in Daredevil gets knocked so hard, imo.

So if they can find a way to make that fit believably in the context of the story, it's great. If not, it's hard for me to imagine the pure glowy white look working in the world of MOS. I could see contact lenses working though.

Yeah, the white eyes... I am not sure they work in live action for a myriad of reasons. I might go with the contact lens idea. Maybe. He would at least have more expression as compared to something built into the cowl.

Agreed. I'd take no eye stuff whatsoever over static lenses. What I'm imaging is a large lens that is beneath a flexible mask, where the eye area moves along with the facial movements - ie. a surprised look with eyebrows up exposes more of the white lens. An angry squint gives us the typical downward slanting lens. etc. - the way it works in the cartoons and comics, with variable levels of luminosity to the glow effect.

Who knows if we'll ever see it. It would be a challenge for a VFX team, but not nearly an insurmountable one. I'll bet it could be done in a way that made every person who thinks the lenses are cool in the comics but doubts they could be done on screen go "holy ****in ****."

Yeah, I think the lenses are one of those things that shoud be used once or twice for some iconography shots, but not all the time. Have him wear them for night vision or something when he's in the dark, but then they vanish when the camera focuses on his face for a shot that shows his expression.

That's a very good point.

Imagine TAS Batman where the eyes were always in the same position and weren't expressive. Not so much.

And yeah, lenses on Affleck again might just bring up memories of Daredevil. Maybe it's best if we get to see his eyes this time.

Another Fleck'd sequential panel showing Batman with no eye stuff whatsoever - no lenses, no makeup. Just a human being wearing a mask.

Personally, if we're doing no lenses, I'd really prefer no makeup either. (although eye makeup is just about one of the only things I could imagine fitting into most of the absolutely ludicrous utility belts we've seen both in the comics and on screen)

A little likey this?

So I'm "trolling" cause I stated my opinion, and then backed it up by example in live action movies, and now you want me to "disengage"?

Yeah, keep making your "phenomenal" manips. Lenses for life and stuff, brahhhhh.

No, you're trolling because of your ridiculous juvenile tone. Playing the Batman-movies list game with us like we're idiots isn't stating your opinion. It's just being puerile. I'll keep making manips that I call half-assed and primitively cobbled together. Not sure where you saw that I call my own work phenomenal? I've been doing it for only a month, braaaahhhhhhh. And I didn't ask you to disengage. :) Just said that I'm done having a debate about the Batsuit with you.

They were ok for a short little scene, but if those were full time I wouldn't be hot about it.

Yeah, I'm for lenses in a couple choice scenes only. And I wouldn't throw a fit if we didn't get them in this movie. I just don't think they can or should be ruled out entirely because I'm sure Snyder could think of a way to do them. But if he doesn't...not a big deal.

No, I wasn't trolling before, but maybe I should've seen better with lenses and stuff, brahhhhh.

Agreed, it's not fit worthy. ;) Whatever they come up with, I'm sure Snyder will be trying to wow us. And he seems to know all the tricks, from practical, to in camera, to post. There has never been a time in movie making history when there were so many technical options available to make Batman as close to or as far from his comic/animated form, or an actor cast who's chin was as ideal as Batfleck's ;) I can't think of many things that could cause me to pitch a fit except for undue complication ala the puzzle-suit, or a suit of metal armor, and I doubt we're getting either of those things for the main Batsuit.

i just want to see them use only for a detective mode.

I hope they use it even when Bruce Wayne is eating cereal and reading the news paper. Just think about it, it's never been done before!

Yeah, I'm not really worried about this bat suit. I'm excited and tired of waiting. I'm almost certain it will be amazing, so I reckon I won't have much to complain about when it finally arrives. I think Snyder will feel the need to make his bat suit different than what came before and in this case, that's a good thing.
