I was pretty firmly against the idea of lenses being used in live action for a long time, but I've come around on the idea and think they could work if done properly.
I wouldn't want them to be something that's permanently positioned over his eyes, but rather something that can be retracted into the mask when they're not needed.
This could work IMO if they went with a mask similar to the one in Arkham city(Which I hope they do anyway...with or without the lenses) rather than the traditional black eye makeup look
See how the eye holes are just about the size of his actual eyes?
I can easily see lenses sliding down from inside the mask whenever he needs them for either tactical(Heat/night vision) or theatric reasons.
The main reason the daredevil mask failed IMO is because they were actual physical and permanently positioned lenses that were installed in the mask that had to look a certain way,but also reduce the actors field of vision as little as possible,so they were a little big and made him look bug eyed..
This wouldn't really be a problem if the lenses were CG and used only when necessary.
I don't know..
Just my two cents.
I don't really give a **** either way.

Just think it would be incredibly cool if it were pulled off successfully.
