not true IMO. after the movie is out a lot people come to the sections to talk about the movie. people a lot of times ignore the bat boards because the movie is not out yet.

what is happening with TDKR is very strange and extreme. after BB was out the bat boards were full for months. and it was the same with TDK. TDKR is the last batman movie from Nolan and its very empty.

i think .......that noone cares because the movie didnt suprise them like BB and TDK. they like the movie but nothing more.

I doubt its that. For BB and TDK it was likely people saying "I loved how it ended I hope in the next one Nolan....." you could say that as it was very likely there would be another. With TDKR there is no point as you know you wont see anymore. It's only so long you can speculate about a JGL film as it is very unlikely there will be one.

I'm torn with what time was better: the post-BB or post-TDK one. I just remembered how excited I was when I saw the Joker card at the end of BB but there was more uncertainty back then on whether there will be a sequel. The post-TDK time was great in the sense that we're enjoying talking about the movie, the B.O. success, the Oscar potential, etc. while knowing that we still have another movie to go. Yeah, there was a chance that Nolan could say no to a 3rd movie but it's almost a given that he will.

I guess the post-TDKR time is good too especially for those looking forward to a new non-Nolan take.

Could be or maybe now that the trilogy is finished people are realising it really is all over and there are no surprises left, nothing more to speculate on.

I think there are are a lot that love this movie and a fair share that dont, not sure I've read much that says they like it but thats it, certainly getting more love than Begins from what I've read and heard, but thats just my small sample of the net.

I don't know if that's the reason or not as to why this forum has died down (even some of the die hard regulars like Boom, Rag, and Nev are not around any more or hardly ever post), but having been here for both BB and TDK, I can confirm the forums for them were busy for weeks after they came out.

Let-down after the hype leading in...but not decidedly love or hatred. Kinda' 'there' in comparison to the other two movies. And now it's all over, so time to move on.

For me, it was "post-BB" hands down. Speculating on The Joker was so much fun.

Post-TDK was different, in that I was a bit let down with TDK, and we also had no idea who would be in the new movie. Also, it was basically just "BB sucks while TDK rules" talk. If you said one thing bad about TDK, you were basically ostracized from the forum.

Yeah I wouldn't say that it's because people didn't care. Mainly because that isn't true. The number who like it is far greater than the people who didn't.

I still think the period leading up to the release of The Dark Knight was the best time on the bat-boards...

It was crazy but it was fun.

The Dark Knight Rises never reached those heights but it still had something special about it. Probably because we knew it was the last time.

I remember panicking over the possibility that there won't be a sequel after BB. I mean, it was so damn good (still is my undisputed favorite in the trilogy) that it MUST have a sequel and it NEEDS to have the Joker. You can't just tease that! :woot:

And it now it feels like the reverse in these last several months.

I think it's because everything has been said about this film and the trilogy as a whole. There's nothing to speculate about except the 2015/2016 reboot.

Yeah plus I think we can't really talk about the loose ends in TDKR that we want to be addressed in the next film since we're not getting another one (Nolan-verse).

Sad to see the board slow down now...

But thats the way it goes. Everything, apart from the tragedy, turned out very well for the film.
Yeah ,I noticed that too.
When I woke up yesterday there were only 2 page to this thread ,
When I went to bed, hours later, it was unchanged .
I was surprised and, more than a bit saddened .
We need some baseless unsubstaniated rumors about the reboot to get us going again!:oldrazz:

Oh, if you guys wanna start talking about the reboot, just go into the DC movie section. We've been speculating and talking about stuff we would like to see for awhile, now.

Yeah, still a few more things to look forward to. Blu Ray/DVD release, Trilogy Box Set release (hopefully with loads of never before seen extras *crosses fingers*),
Nolan isn't known for that, but I'm hoping we get enough extras to make the box set worth a purchase.

I'm probably getting it regardless because I know my family will be stupid enough to buy me TDKR for Christmas like they did with TDK. I got BB for pennies on BR because of a huge bundle I purchased off of WB's shop site. When will my family learn to either not buy me anything, or just give me money.

You mean weeks?

Nah, months. I remember when I first joined in 09, BB wasn't talked about so highly after TDK came out in the Batbaords. I didn't went to the Batboards for a while until late 2010/early 2011 for TDKR and suddenly not a lot of people think of TDK so highly. It's just odd to me because I love both almost equally.

But it won't be Nolan so we may as well take it to the DC Movies forum for now...

There's still some life in this forum but it died down much quicker than I expected.

For me it's hard to choose. I liked BB more for it's story, but TDK was the better movie. TDKR, I am not quite sure where it fits as I love it, but haven't yet seen it enough to place where I like it.

You will probably change your mind which you like the most several times over after repeat viewing's, thats the way it goes sometimes, if all three are of a similar level to you its gonna make it harder to choose one of the other two.

Begins I had to watch several times to grow on me. Each to their own I guess.

I remember not going on any forums between Begins and Dark Knight but a lot of speculation amongst my friends about the Joker. I didnt know if they would do a sequel. I figured it could go either way.

We still have some stuff to look forward to over the next several months with TDKR, like Blu-ray and boxsets or whatever so it'll be fine. But after that, it's all about the reboot. I think the forums gonna be buzzing pretty hard. A lot of "Nolans trilogy is the best and can't be topped, this reboot is gonna blow" but those people will still be curious enough to go on the hype everyday for news. Then a lot of Nolan haters coming out of the woodwork.

What will be weird, is when this section of the hype is abandoned for a new one that's centered around the reboot. It's gonna feel weird not talking about a Nolan Bat-movie.

Hopefully they announce the actor next year for Batman, so the buzz comes back.

Duuude....the day they get rid of each of the BB, TDK and TDKR sub-forums and consolidate everything under "Misc. Batfilms" will be a sad day indeed.

Talk about full circle :csad:

My brother had to watch BB a second time because he didn't like the first viewing. He actually thinks TDKR is an awful movie, worst film of the year according to him (although he loved Hardy's performance). I think he's being extremely harsh due to his obsession with Ledger, and the pedestal he puts TDK on.

If my financial situation wasn't such a wreck, I would have seen it two other times by now (three viewings in theater for each Nolan Batman film). Hopefully, I'll be able to watch it again, as I've read from other posters that it gets better after a second viewing.

Oh man it's gonna be strange as hell. So sad. That's when it's gonna hit us hahaha, it's only over when the sub-forums are gone!

Yeah it did for me. I just didn't quite get Begins the first time, it wasn't till I watched it on dvd that I understood the angle Nolan was getting for (or maybe the Schumacher years just made me flat out distrust any Batman film).

Yeah TDK blew me away and I was extremely sceptical about a follow up getting anywhere near to it, thought it would just be a flop or just "meh", I couldn't see it getting anywhere near the same level but I was surprised that TDKR got so close to it, yeah I would still argue TDK is better but I'm just so glad I love all three in the trilogy now.

Shame your brother doesnt like it, he aint alone to be fair, but everyone has their own view right and its mostly being well received:yay:
