...went to see it with my gf on saturday night. surprised that people still clap at the end. the place was crowded yet not full, perfectly normal for a 9:20pm show, considering most people go out at saturday night to dance and have a few drinks.

...I pay more attention to details everytime I see it. this was my 4th time. hope to catch it again.

...the end as always strikes me, the best of the trilogy IMO.

...I'm gonna miss this batman...

not true IMO. after the movie is out a lot people come to the sections to talk about the movie. people a lot of times ignore the bat boards because the movie is not out yet.

what is happening with TDKR is very strange and extreme. after BB was out the bat boards were full for months. and it was the same with TDK. TDKR is the last batman movie from Nolan and its very empty.

i think .......that noone cares because the movie didnt suprise them like BB and TDK. they like the movie but nothing more.

I havent been coming here as much, because the nitpicking was getting on my nerves. The movie has flaws, but some were just being anal about it.

Begins blew my MIND when i saw it in June 05. Saw that movie 4 more times with my friends. It was like a revelation when it came out. I heard NOTHING about this movie, i was quite dettached from Batman at that point and it just came out of nowhere. It was like "NOW THIS is my Batman!".

This trilogy will always be my Batman. But im super psyched about the reboot, because i have a belief that they'll go in a more Arkham City visual tone. The only way ill be let down is if they get a director or cast a bunch of actors that are jokes to me. Or if they rush into the villains that Nolan has used too soon, instead of jumping into the other characters first.

Yeah, I will certainly give the next Batman film a chance but I have a feeling it may take something special to overtake or equal this trilogy for me, just hope they go in a different direction and keep things interesting.

I really wish Rhona Mitra would have landed Talia.

Damn Nolan for preferring familiar actors :argh:

About the forum dying. Yeah, like others said, the trilogy is over now, so there's nothing we can really speculate about in a sequel, and many (like myself) were disappointed in the movie, so Oscar chances are slim, meaning, no discussion there.

All we can really do is post reviews of the movie (which we've all pretty much done already) point out flaws or find hidden things we didn't notice the first time around.

Other than that.. Yeah, I don't think I have any real incentive to post here anymore. I'm not leaving entirely, just.. won't be around as much.

There will probably be a surge in posts once the DVD/Blu-Ray is announced.

Wasnt a massive fan of her in the Underworld film she did but looks good in a catsuit I'll giver her that.

I really hope WB and Nolan surprises us with somewhat of a extended cut for the DVD/Bluray.

Ya it's all i ask for. A different direction. One thing ill say, is they always manage (so far) to move Batman on film in a forward direction. Ever since Batman 89' it's been moving in a different direction with each film, even if the same director is attached. So that's all i care about. Please don't bite Nolans style & please don't return to Burtons or Shumachers!

Whether people like it or not, taking the franchise in a more comic accurate tone (this is why i say Arkham City) and mixing it with Justice League..it's something that we haven't seen yet. And i think that's all that matters.

Yeah it deserves something special for its trilogy release, I'm hoping for a nice 6 disc special or something:woot:

Nice tin box too, engraved with bat sign :batty:

Same here! I was never really that big into Batman as a kid. I liked Forever, watched B:Beyond and B:TAS occasionally. But wasn't that muchi not the character.

I saw BB on a whim back in '05 and said to myself as the lights went down: "This better not suck." Still remembering how awful Batman & Robin was.

The beginning with the bats and the well had me thinking: "Hey this movie might actually be pretty cool.."

Then Bruce woke up in the prison and he walks to the main yard with Hans epic score playing and Wally's beautiful cinematography. At that point I was like: "Damn!"

I became so engrossed in Bruce's story that I completely forgot it was a Batman movie. I just wanted to see where the character went next.

Then Oldman and Caine came along, giving two great performances that nearly stole the show from Bale.

The subway fight at the end was amazing, and I kinda already knew about The Joker reference at the end, but still, it was really cool.

The only complaint I had was how little Scarecrow the movie had. (He was really the only reason I saw the movie in the first place. The idea of a guy who plays on people's fears sounded badass and scary)

An Arkham City-esque film would be stupidly awesome! Those games just hit everything perfectly (other than Bane). I still feel a detective thriller would be great to see (a route I suggested if WB were ever gonna go down the JGl route).

However, I really do just have this huge feeling that because Nolan's were verging on a 15 and very adult that WB are gonna go back to the strict kid-friendly route.

Do you mean Arkham City the game or is there a comic book named the same?

Something I've been thinking about which although small, would make TDKR better for me, is that if they replaced the special forces crew with just ordinary citizens of Gotham who have formed a rebellion against Bane.

It gives us a chance to see how the people of Gotham have reacted to Bane's occupation, even if they do get taken down it will still give us an indication that the people are doing something and not just staying indoors.

Yeah maybe, I see your point of getting across the fact Batman has inspired people to act but wouldn't Merc's V Civilians be a bit of a slaughter compared against trained police men?

The special forces were slaughtered anyway when they left the Wayne Enterprises shelter.

It could have just been a small group and they could have been slaughtered straight away but it would still have shown that the civillians were still doing something. In the film it just comes across that they were sat indoors for five months.

Which doesn't work well when the point of Batman is to inspire people.

Yeah we dont really get to see them much is true, but if everyone got the extra bits they wanted in this film it would have been about 9 hours long:woot:

We just got the flashes of people living in groups in shelters and the cops underground I spose, I see where your coming from.

Yeah its my main complaint about the film that we see practically zero of how the civillians are coping (alongside the final battle being quite underwhelimng). We have a quick montage and we see the orphans and WE employees in shelter.

I don't want to see how every civillian is coping but just seeing a few civillians begin an uprising against Bane or attempt an attack on him. Or/And seeing a few people looking up to the Batsymbol and being inspired to do something (as cheesy as that sounds it is still something) or seeing people leaves there houses and join the police and Batman at war. Just little things like that adds detail to the film and something and kept but feel was touched upon in the first draft of the script or if a two-parter was made.

LOL oh B & R was the damn nightmare that made me abandon Batman til 2005. At least now i enjoy it as a comedy/spoof but not so much back then. And i wasn't too fond of Forever either (besides Carrey), i was waaaay too used to Keaton being Batman.

Exactly, everything except for stupid Bane. He was horrible in that game ahah.

The detective route is what ive also been suggesting, and i think it can work with JGL or the first movie of the reboot. Perfect for Riddler. Even with the visual Arkham City style to it.

Well, in the mind of the average Gothamite, if they tried to rebel against Bane, the trigger-man would detonate the bomb. It's complicated when not only do you not know who to go after, but the main guy that you can go after is a psycho terrorist willing to die for his cause. Not to mention he has an army of thousands that's growing by the day. Any meager uprising would have only served to make the average Gothamites look helpless and pathetic, so it's the same end result.

However, I definitely would've enjoyed seeing some regular people back up the police in the final battle, since that's an "everything comes down to this" kind of situation. It could have definitely been done, but for whatever reason it wasn't. Maybe to give the police a moment of glory for a change.

Yeah I dont like the idea of it being split in two but there was so much in this film perhaps it could have pulled it off in a satisfactory way, I'm sort of torn over the idea of it. There's so much Nolan crammed into this one its fit to burst at the seams. I'm very happy with what we got but damn you just always want that bit more, sign of a good story teller I guess:woot:

Here's hoping for an extended cut, but dont have high hopes:csad:

If you could all keep one actor from this trilogy for the reboot... who would it be?

Murphy as Scarecrow. As the only actor to play a Bat-villain in multiple films, it would honestly feel weird to see someone else in that role! Plus, he had three appearances and it still feels like we only got a small taste of the character.
