That's what I was thinking. Good to know. Thanks, Chris.

True but the Blu Ray menu will look very similar. WB has gone very basic with their menus on Blu Ray as of late. This is the new template.

Rises' Blu Ray will look very similar, if not exact.

Oh wow... didn't know that! I think the last WB Blu-ray I bought was Inception back in 2010. I know physical media is dying, but I hope they put a little effort in the menu design.

I asked WB for a review copy and they said they'd put me "on the list". If I get it early I'll let you guys know what the menu looks like.

The generic menu thing may be a new business model for WB, but when a film makes over a billion dollars it seems like an unnecessary slap in the face to the fans to put out something so generic. Here's hoping the Blu-ray will at least match the design of the previous two. At least use the right fonts...anything. lol.

Also, a nice little read on some of the parallels between A Tale of Two Cities and Rises. Definitely a lot of parallels between Sidney Carton/Charles Darnay and the Bruce Wayne of TDKR. Makes a lot of sense of why the Nolans found inspiration in this book for the conclusion of their story:

After the third TDKR poster, I probably shouldn't doubt anything anymore.

You would think they could just do some sort of copy/paste job with some of the old code from the previous 2 Blu-rays and insert the new content. That's what I hope, anyway. At least in this case it makes sense to do that.

Very good write up.

I especially liked this part:

Batman does a “far, far better thing than he has ever done” by sacrificing himself to save Gotham; but this also allows Bruce to come to “a far, far better rest than he has ever known” at last.

not surprised by the menu. BB and TDK's bluray menus arent great either (at least disc 1) the regular dvds have better menus. I was hopoing theyd make an exception for this like they did for deathly hallows but it was not to be. personally I dont need fancy menus but a menu with a video montage would have been nice.

It is heavily inspired by A Tale of Two Cities. That's probably one of the reasons why i liked it so much.

Me? I loved it. My only problem with TDKR was pacing issues but I can blame that on IMAX. The ending was a perfect way to end that series.

Why don't they include the original prologue as special feature or extras? That would be great for me, anyway :(

I didn't like it - not the voice. I know it's not a big deal but for some reason it just slaps me across the face really hard :(

I prefer the original audio for the prologue but I've come to appreciate the one in the film for how weirdly animated it is.

That's an interestingly nice way to look at it. I wish I could appreciate it that way :(

I won't be shelling out 20 bucks for this movie. When the price goes down might pick it up.

I've already spent a little over 50 bucks on this movie, i dont mind spending 20 or more for the blu-ray. Plus the box-set next summer.

I really want the original prologue to be an option. Maybe we'll get it next summer as one of the extras.

Still on the fence at the moment. This Ultimate Edition better be something pretty bloody spectacular. I want more than just a simple hour documentary and good looking box art. For one of WB's leading franchises and one of the most well recieved trilogies of all time I think it should be given a worthy release.

Anyone know if the 'Second Screen App' is also available for android phones? I know iPhones are favored but us droid people are people too sadly :-/
