Yeah, Man of Steel Trailer 3 is probably every bit as good as TDKR Trailer 3 and that's saying a lot for me. I definitely see a similarity between the two though, as they both start with quiet piano, and then are driven by Zimmer's swelling, continually building music until it just overflows with emotion by the end. But yeah, the tones are worlds apart.

MOS is doing wonders to sooth the pain of Nolan's Batman series being over, haha. I just feel it in the air, like the magic is about to happen all over again for Superman. And that feels so...right.

BEGINS teaser trailer is still the best. It showed us what was to come, and sums up the trilogy. Didn't give us anything either, almost was playing poker. Had lots of balls...

Absolutely. I love how it comes across as a horror thriller in the beginning. You have no idea that its a Batman flick and then BAM! they show Bats in the end. It's still one of the best trailers ever IMO.

For TDKR, my favorite is the Nokia one followed by Trailer #3.

My favorite trailer overall is still probably the first theatrical trailer to TDK. It is just a perfectly cut trailer, even if it barely shows Harvey Dent.

The MOS trailer is better than any TDKR trailer. It's on par with the December TDK trailer and the first Watchmen teaser. Fincher's Dragon Tattoo teaser beats them all though.

My two favorite trailers is the very first teaser for Batman Begins, "I found something in the darkness . . . me" and the Dark Knight Joker trailer from December 2007, "just a freak . . . like me!"


The MOS and TDKR stuff doesn't even compare to that rush I had back in 2007, seeing that trailer.

Indeed. It's refreshing to know that there is something to behold in Man of Steel after the TDKR rush.

TDK trailer with Alfred and The Joker's dialogue is excellent. It all worked a treat and garnered a lot of interest in what was to come. The MOS trailer was pretty good and I think it will be a good movie. But Batman is still more my thing. Dark, sexy and dangerous. t:

The first TDK trailer will probably be my favourite trailer of all time. The newest MOS trailer has renewed my hope in DC superhero films.

It renewed my hope for Superman. The future of the rest of DC remains to be seen. It's too bad DC doesn't have a unifying voice. WB keeps pushing Nolan to be that person but the poor soul just wants to get out of the superhero business.

I think if anything, Goyer can be the "Kevin Fiege" of DC. He's always been a good ideas man. The problem is he's so damn busy as it is, especially now with DaVinci's Demons.

I think Bruce Timm would be better suited for that "Kevin Fiege" of DC role. Especially since he step down from the DC animated scene.

It definitely renewed my hope that Superman can be done right, but I don't think anyone should go as far as given renewed hope to the future of DC films. It's as if WB can't do anything right as of late if Nolan or Goyer isn't behind a project as clearly seen by Green Lantern and Jonah Hex. The future of DC is still in trouble I'd say.

Goyer should definitely help co-write this universe(if there is one), but to take the "Kevin Feige"-like spot, I'm not quite so sure. His cons in the past still outweigh the pros.

Bruce Timm being the main guy for the expanded universe would be aces...but what are his thoughts on something grounded such as what MOS is doing?

Bruce Timm IMO needs to show me that he has the same care and passion for live action work that he does for animation. Being good at one doesn't automatically make you good at the other. He's dedicated his entire career thus far to animation, and that's his real domain. For all we know he might just be looking to continue his career in animation, only apart from DC. Although maybe he is looking to venture outside his comfort zone. I don't think he's announced his plans yet, so we shall see.

If it was a job he actually wanted, I'd be all for it...I'm just not certain he would.
