I don't see a reason to. To re-revisit The Dark Knight Returns, and bring Bruce out of retirement....again?

Honestly, i think it would have worked in 15/20 years if Ledger was alive. But not so much now. No Joker (unless Nolan warms up to the idea of recasting since the character would be so much older), no Superman, no brief Two-Face appearance.

How would they construct a story? I guess the difference would be that the film wouldn't begin with a brooding Bruce in Gotham, looking to die in the cowl. It would probably start with him in another country, older, happier, and something brings him back. Blake's death during "duty". The future of the symbol being in jeopardy and a nutcase on the loose. Which would only work if Joker was present and say a young Dick Grayson was being mentored by Blake, but is now left alone due to his death, so Bruce has to make everything right.

That's the only way i can ever see it happening. Fan-fiction or reality.

No. And how would that even make sense? Inception came before. Nolan mainly works one film at a time. After TDK he was able to make Inception the way he wanted. After Inception's success which surprised the studio, he was able to do what he wanted with the third Batman or anything else for that matter. He didn't have to make a third Batman. Only did it because he was excited to end Bruce's story. If it was another movie in a long-lasting universe, he would have passed on it im sure.

Lol, nah I gave up posting on SHH! for Lent. I'm raised Catholic but far from strictly observant...my girlfriend gave up chocolate and wanted me to give up something to join her. It was a little personal challenge.

Technically I broke it for a few posts in the Misc. TV section to talk about the How I Met Your Mother ending while the topic was hot, haha. But yeah, the TDKR boards were where I spent most of my time so I consider it mostly a success.

Also, I heard milost got banned and was discovered by the mods to be a previously banned user. Oops!

Well the Batfleck rumours indicate a semi-retired Batman. Even if that whole retirment thibg was done 4 years ago as long as it's good and they do it differently I couldn't give a hoot.
