I'm always intrigued when Batman is involved, but it's gonna take more than Joe Manganiello to get me into that seat on opening day/night.

I'm too much of a Batman fan, too curious to NOT be there opening weekend. That goes for Justice League too, even though I'm not excited about it. I have to see how it is and decide for myself.

Which is the best batman and joker?

If I'm pleasantly surprised by JL, then great. I've just yet to have a Snyder film exceed my expectations so it doesn't make sense to get my hopes up.

It's kind of crazy to think that this being Snyder's third DC film- this could've been the third part of a Superman trilogy. And you could've still had Wonder Woman come out this year and Affleck's Batman reboot come out next year. They definitely could've launched the DC Universe without the whole BvS and SS debacle. Sure, they made money, but I have no doubts Justice League/Batman vs Superman films with the proper setup and buildup would've performed even better and had the audience way more invested.

I did not see that actor in anything other than Spider-Man.

He was in Sabotage, which was directed by David Ayer. Terrible film too. :funny:

Is that the Arnold movie from 2014?
Didn't see it.

Yeah that's the one.

David Ayer has a very scattershot filmography, he can go from making something great like End of Watch and Fury to something like Sabotage and Suicide Squad.

Fury and End of Watch were solid for me but great is a stretch. They don't have that rewatchability factor.

Why do I get the feeling that Affleck will only use Leto in another situation where he has minimal screentime?

Can't they just reboot already and give us a Denis Villeneuve/Jake Gyllenhaal stand-alone Batman? :)

Farewell Obama. TDK, MCU, great recession and his historic win to the white house. 2008 was quite a year.

As cool as Villeneuve doing Batman would be, at this point I would rather he not squander his talents with the DCEU.

Logan is premiering at the Berlin film festival. Man, they are confident, to say the least.

Do you guys think The Batman will also debut at the Berlin film festival or Cannes?

Depends what kind of film it is. Stranger things have happened.

So I was reading about Scorsese's use of this technology in The Irishman where he's taking DeNiro (and possibly Pacino) and making them look as young as they were in the 70's or 80's. For a massive chunk of the film. In Rogue One I thought they did a good job but it's not quite there yet. If Scorsese can make this look almost real, then soon enough there will be a time where it could look phenomenal, which is mind blowing if you think of a 75 year old man realistically looking like he's 45 years younger.

My question is this. In 10 years do you think we can see one of the Nolan brothers taking on this technology to make Bale, Oldman and possibly Caine/Freeman look...15 or 20 years younger for a new Batman prequel?

My interest in this goes beyond The Dark Knight Trilogy as I see Hollywood trying to make older actors or even dead actors young again in their new films. As long as it doesn't take me out of the movie too much, then it could be really interesting. Risky, but interesting.
