The Dark Knight Rises You Have My Permission To Lounge - Part 6

Remember when we were all excited about the Gotham city we thought we were gonna get when the airlines commercial got our hopes up? It had axis chemicals and everything. The actual Gotham was just nondescript lines of black buildings. Just like Metropolis.

Forgive me. Metropolis had the world's largest toilet for birds. The superman statue.
That commercial made Gotham look perfect. Ugh Snyder. Gotham looked like a different part of Metropolis.

Finally got to show the family BvS. Even though i didn't like the film i felt they as fellow Batman and Superman fans had a right to make their own mind and I hoped they would like it. Plus it was my first time seeing the extended cut so I hoped for the best. Unfortunately even with certain plot holes filled in I still dislike that movie, and they did too. I'm just trying to find something to like about the movie besides nice visuals from time to time, and I can't find anything. Had to watch The Dark Knight Trilogy to get my mind off of it. It just hurts.

Looks awful. Apparently all the action is gonna take place in doors. The world's greatest superheroes, allergic to the outdoors?

Aquaman looks cool. But Flash and Cyborg look awful. Cyborg looks like something Michael Bay designed. Flash looks like Iron Man.

Gal Gadot looks bored as ****.

Batman looks ridiculous.

What's with Snyder's robo fetish?

I really dislike Batman's Owlman costume.

Not seeing the appeal in the pic either. Superman being in so little of the first Justice League is a massive turnoff. Gal looks strange, Flash looks like a garbage can and it looks like they want to have their cake and eat it too with Batman's armored mix with BvS look.

Are they walking out of a shipping container? WTF.

Picking this from the 'Cinematic Civil War' thread

With Superman (Henry Cavill) having laid down his life for Earth, Batman (Ben Affleck) and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) recruit a superteam to take on a new threat to civilization in Justice League. “It was all about the filling-out of this massive comic-book pantheon with the biggest and coolest heroes we could,” director Zack Snyder says of his group, which includes seafaring warrior Aquaman (Jason Momoa), speedy Flash (Ezra Miller) and high-tech Cyborg (Ray Fisher). Fans are getting a big character arc for Wonder Woman in 2017, beginning with her solo movie set during World War I. In it, she finds “humanity isn’t always the most kind and awesome thing,” says Snyder, also a producer on Wonder Woman. “It has its moments, but it can be brutal, and her coming to terms with that dichotomy is what we come to learn about her. And in Justice League, she’s fully evolved into someone who’s embraced mankind, partly through Superman’s sacrifice. She’s like, ‘All right, I’ve got to pick it up.’"
She entered the scene of the battle without any hint of inspiration from Superman, and now it's Superman taking that risk that made her try to be helpful? That doesn't match.

He considers Cyborg to be cooler than a plethora of more interesting characters.
Can't agree with him on that one.

Ugh. This movie still feels like pure Snyder. If you thought the teaser was stripped down, well, so was Man Of Steel's teaser. Wait until the first big trailer, all the Zack goodness will be present, and then we will have no doubts that we're getting another Snyderfest.

I mean Aquaman looks cool, but just remember that slow-motion scene in the trailer with his tank top and bottle of alcohol.

I can't even pretend to be upset about the direction Justice League is taking because I also can't pretend to have any excitement for it.

I feel like this movie is just there. It WILL be pure Snyder stylistically, but the tone will be lighter and they're gonna try to have more humor...I think you pretty much know based off of that alone whether the movie is going to appeal to you or not.

Btw cool find with that art shauner. I'd love to have those on my wall some day.

Jett says he's heard bad things about JL. But the question is are the voices in his head or legit scoops?

As easy as it is to believe hearing bad things about JL, if it's from Jett then take it with a pinch of salt.

Jett, despite his controversial reputation, does have few pretty reliable sources in Burbank dating back a long time. It's really more a question of how close are his trusted sources to the project at the moment.

I will say, I always recall that back in 2010 on his forums he kept dropping pretty blatant hints that Bane was going to be the new villain when every clickbait movie site on the net was chasing down Riddler/Hugo Strange rumors. Nobody bought it, and I laughed it off thinking there was no way. Was pretty shocked when that turned out to be true. And those were already the days when he was considered a hack/has been, etc.

A scooper is only as good as his sources, and sources aren't usually 100%, so you always have to take stuff with a grain of salt but I also kinda doubt he's just making stuff up randomly or reporting what NamelessScooper734 emails him.

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile.

If Letoker can go from what he was in SS to a character that you can compare to TDK Joker without laughing, then that would be quite the turnaround.

Gonna be rather difficult. There are some creepy elements to Letoker that have potential, but they also need to tone down some of the stupid elements.

Heath Joker is like a fine wine, just gets better with age. Still hard to believe it's Heath Ledger in that performance.

With the way JL is shaping up, I might just skip it entirely. Especially with inflated ticket prices thanks to 3D.

I would need to see another trailer before I make that decision, but yeah, right now I'm not all that bothered about JL.

I'm very indifferent to the whole thing, which is crazy. However, I'll still be there opening night. Such is the life of a fanboy.

I long ago made the decision to skip it. There's no point in going to see something I'm 99% likely to hate.

I'm hoping word of mouth is positive, but I'm just done giving Snyder chance after chance.

Affleck's solo Batman film, while it doesn't excite me, still has me very much intrigued.
