The Dark Knight Rises You Have My Permission To Lounge - Part 9

Really? Even back then people thought the transfer was flawed. And nobody I read has ever called it reference quality.

While this is just one review... I do remember quite a few more like it.

The picture appears rich and deep, giving the illusion that one could step into the screen and rappel with them. Though these examples feature the extraordinary IMAX sequences, the 2.4:1 sequences often have this effect as well. Above all, the tremendous definition and delineation within dark areas of the screen push the picture of The Dark Knight all the way to reference quality.

Did any of you manage to finish the Catwoman DLC mission in Arkham Knight? That bit with electricity and the herd of robots in the elevator is damn near impossible.

Just gonna time those reversals.

Okay, TDK in 4K is ****ing glorious. Almost like watching it for the first time. The colors are so vibrant and the picture is so crisp that it's unreal. I can't wait to watch the other two films like this.

There aren’t a lot of reviews out, but the ones I’ve read of Batman Begins were underwhelming. Apparently it’s so much of a step down from the TDK transfer people think it’s an upconvert from the BluRay. Nolan mentioned he was personally handling the 4K revisions, so this may just be a result of either poor management or subpar film (is that even possible for the modern day?).

Ah well. I guess if I had to pick one out of the trilogy, it would be TDK. I’m curious how TDKR matches up, still haven’t seen word on that yet.

I ordered only TDK trilogy and Dunkirk. But they say Inception is also a great-looking UHD. 35mm stuff surpasses Interstellar, TDK and TDKR. 65mm material looks great too. Of course, the best looking release is Dunkirk. Mostly because of the film stock used.

This Batman mega fan calls himself "a bit of a geek," but everyone else calls him senator - as in US Senator Patrick Leahy, a veteran Democratic lawmaker.

The 77-year-old Leahy is such a fan of the Caped Crusader that he has made cameo appearances in five Batman movies, including "Batman Forever" (1995), Christopher Nolan’s "Dark Knight" (2008), and most recently in "Batman vs Superman" (2016).

Leahy’s most notable screen appearance was in "The Dark Knight." In one memorable scene, he comes face to face with The Joker, as portrayed by the late Heath Ledger, who won a posthumous Oscar for the role.

Ledger threatens the shaken Leahy with a knife at his face, and then violently throws him towards a henchman.

The scene, shot more than a dozen times by the meticulous Nolan, was especially grueling for Leahy, who was knocked around several times.

Leahy had introduced himself as "Patrick of Vermont," so the Australian-born Ledger had no idea who he was throwing around.

Actor Michael Caine, who was also in the movie, only told Ledger after the film was wrapped.

"I’m not sure someone can come to the US and throw a US senator around," Leahy remembered the British actor as saying jokingly to Ledger.

"I didn’t know that!" Ledger replied. "I’m here on a visa. Am I going to get into any trouble?"

Where was he in Batman Forever? I know Batman & Robin.

He was one of the neon-painted gang members in BF.

Merry Christmas guys. 8 minutes left here.

Though traditionally it lasts until January 7th, but still.

I remember when he mentioned that his wife thought his Batman voice cost him his initial Batman audition....

EDIT: .....which he talks about in that podcast.

"Welcome to the club, mate". I didn't find Tom Hardy's Bane voice to be much different from his normal voice.

LOL what? That's not his accent or how he pronounces...anything.

Great Bale interview, thanks for posting. Gotta love that guy.
