It was bit of a comic-relief moment, so Affleck was obviously leaning in that with his performance. But I didn't see it as awkward.

I didn't like the use of that music beat with the zoom at end personally. I liked their joke together though, it kind of reminded me of the good moments between Anakin and Obi Wan in SW teaming up

All the reactions I have seen range from a scoff/huff to full blown laughter. I thought it was funny, not as funny as the "psychotic" line but still funny and it is a clear indication of their relationship and the reactions all these characters have to each other.
Every time one of them meets someone else whether its WW, Aquaman etc. All their reactions will be "WTF who r u?"

You can't get everything you want in a film adaption of some other form of media. There are just times you have to accept what you are given and judge just that. There is far too much about the characters as individuals that won't fit in a solo movie let alone a team up fiom.

I'd argue that Batman's detective skills/intelligence is even more important to highlight in this ensemble. It's what sets him apart from the rest of the league. What else makes Batman special?

There is no physical attribute he has that Superman, WW, and the other don't already have (in an exponentially greater level).

Being cool and angsty is not enough, and I hope Snyder/Terrio/Affleck keep that in mind.

But yeah, I definitely want to see Batman as the detective of the group, the brains.

If he's been around for as long as they claim, then he'll definitely be the old, experienced, grizzly general of the group. Ben's interpretation already seems like the familiar cunning fox from the comics and he'll have to be in order to battle Superman, let alone any other great threat with the intention to kill him.

Okay, this really belongs in Rumors and Speculations, and I have pitched the idea there and in this thread. But I'm thinking it very possible that we'll see Batman both being surveiled by the government as a potential threat to Waller's program, and Bats spying on the government in return (Jena Malone's Oracle playing a key role in that). And on this basis, there is reason to conjecture from a Snyder quote,

"So their relationship is very contentious. What Superman sees as Batman’s limits, Batman sees as Superman trying to control him, acting like an absolute dictator."

that Superman might be setting limits on Batman because the government asks him to (he does in TDRK). And as we know, Clark expresses to Perry White that

"This Bat-vigilante's like a one-man reign of terror."

and as Clark tells Bruce to his face

"Civil liberties are being trampled upon in your city. People living in fear. He [Batman] thinks he's above the law."

So when we see Clark and Bruce at the party what I'm imagining is that the government (perhaps at Amanda Waller's request) has been spying on Bruce for some time, and knows he is Batman; and they asked Superman to reign him in. And Bruce (Batman is always thinking several moves ahead) has surveiled the government enough to know that Superman is Clark Kent. Batman has become very bitter toward corruption in government, sees the military-industrial complex as one of the biggest threats there is to society, and is contemptuous of the younger, green, naive Superman as a kind of lapdog of the government. Even though in reality Superman probably knows better than to trust them either--it's an uneasy alliance he has formed with them. But for Superman to have left the scout ship in the government's hands is the sort of monumental error in judgment that would fuel Batman's contempt.

For all we know, prior to the party scene Batman and Superman may already have had the run-in in which Superman destroys the Batmobile and rips the doors off. I.e., he delivering a message to Batman about his vigilantism.

Anyway, the point of this exposition is that Batman's detective work and spying is key.

But what we're actually gonna get in this movie is anyone's guess. I do expect, though, that because Batman is being introduced to the DCEU that he'll get more slightly screen time than Superman.
