I take it this hasn't started filming yet.

why'd you put that in quotation marks?

or he got the same subliminal message that i got, growing up; something isn't good if only minorities like it. reading Milestone is like me only posting in the Positive Thread. and you can't think of a reason why Spider-man might be instantly appealing to a minority? he is covered head to toe. he could be any color beneath the mask. it was Stan Lee who mentioned that being part of his appeal, btw. the true test would be having those Milestone characters suddenly be Marvel characters; interacting with Spider-man and Captain America/being Avengers. whenever i meet another black comic book reader, i ask them who their favorite character is. a lot of them answer with Luke Cage, Black Panther, or (lately) Blue Marvel. some of them say Spider-man too. but the could be talking about the Ultimate version, for all i know. and i'm only referencing the few that i've met.

You leave Milestone out of your freakery!

In two weeks, according to Kinberg.

What's up with the delays and Trank still keeping his Twitter account deleted? It's like Fox doesn't want people to hear anything on this project when if anything, they should be trying to win over naysayers instead of keeping everyone in the dark.

The only light you'll see is stolen from them by Marvel.

It's not a given Doom will have powers. According to reports there will be Doombots he can control with a thought. Technology wise in the real world there is already tech that can be controlled with a thought. It's rudementry control right now in that can be used to control mechanical appendages.

Other than the weird circle around their belly buttons, I like them too.

Nope, not grounded and realistic enough! :o

After their victory over the fifth member of the team, the group's military handler shows the team these sketches and proposes they wear matching form-fitting blue outfits. To which the formerly wee Ben replies, "We're not wearing blue spandex!"

HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!

Obviously not everyone read Kinberg's remarks too closely. He said that the film would have some fun in it (he mentioned Sam Raimi's Spider-Man as a tonal reference), and said it would not be like TDK or anything. He also implied that once this film sets up the science, future sequels may have the more exotic worlds that fans remember from the comics.

So if they don't have the costumes in this film, they probably will by the sequel.

A superhero film with no uniforms is a pretty dumb idea if I ever heard one.

We'll get the costumes right after we see the Hal Jordan - Sinestro showdown.

Knowing Fox they would just have the unconfirmed cast wear blue shirts with the logo on it

I love this...everyone was worrying about this movie being too dark, too much like Chronicle, not enough of the fun and visual pop from the comics. Kinberg comes out and says that's not the case, that the films will have those things, and even cites a widely-respected CBM as an example of what fans can expect.

And what do people notice? "The production schedule is too tight! That means they won't have any costumes!"

You guys just crack me up.

If you are a fan of the original comic books, and not a fan of the UFF what he said does nothing to push you into a more positive frame of mind. Soooooo, they begin thinking, well maybe it will have some of the "look" of the originals, and then you begin hearing, "grounded", no "costumes".

Not much "Fantastic" to write home about for long time fans....so not sure of your point.

Seems to me you are doing the same exact thing that you are saying others are doing, only intensely looking for something positive from what he said and not looking at what fans would like to see and hear that is definitely not in that interview.

"Let's not be so open minded our brains fall out."

Really lookin forward to the sequel where we start to see the, you know "fantastic" stuff.

Don't be greedy--don't expect a movie called Fantastic Four to be fantastic in the first movie---wait a few years after that.

Who said "no costumes"? From what I remember, the only person who said anything like that was Kate Mara, and I'm pretty sure she was kidding.

And "grounded" has been thrown around about every single superhero movie in the past few years, and can mean any number of things (in this case according to Kinberg, it's somewhere between Chronicle and Sam Raimi's Spider-Man).

I'm not trying to be dismissive, but I'm starting to feel like some people are just looking for things to hate about this production.

I think what many are doing is looking at the whole picture of what we have seen and heard, along with these new revelations and developing an opinion from that....rather than hanging on the words of Kinberg as gospel.

I for one, really don't have much of a problem if they are going a UFF route, and as far as casting, I'm just not real keen on Mara as Sue....but I certainly can understand the still negative feelings from the long time fans. We know what kind of timeline is needed for a grand CB movie...and that is not what we are hearing at the moment.
