Ohhhh, I understand why they went with a new suit, because Robocop needed to turn his neck.

Depends. In Prime Directives at the end the Murphy personality comes back in full force, he's essentially Alex again at the end. We never spent enough time with Alex to see if he swears a lot.

Maybe it's his way of coming back into the human world. It's a human trait to swear so i'll swear too sort of thing.

The Iron Man armour always looks plastic in set pictures but fine on film. Hopefully this will be the case here. The teaser poster suggests this.

Yeah i did read once that the face is totally synthetic, they made it so when he looked in the mirror he would still see something even slightly recognisable, and not totally flip out.

With that idea though i'm not sure why they'd incorporate the bullet wound on his forehead?

I got to watching these videos on https://www.youtube.com/user/robocoparchive and one of them mentions a plot point written into the Robocop movies that was never really fleshed out that it is his skin but it's been slowly replaced ... as a plot device to explain why they used different actors. I think it's in the Prime Directives vid but don't quote me on it because I watched like 4 of those clips yesterday.

It was suggested in part 3 that after Robocop deals with the splatter punks his face would get burned. Robert Burkes face would be the new synthetic skin.

I'm willing to bet that Kinnaman wears a variety of different suits when shooting scenes with the variety of different shots within a scene - the suit looks more rubber in those behind the scenes shots and it may be rubber but for all we know the scene may have required Kinnaman to do some fast movements. Maybe he had to run in the suit. If so, it would be better for him to wear a suit he can move easy in like a rubber suit. In other close up shots, he is probably wearing a metal suit to sale the image of RoboCop.

THIS! is exactly my thinking.

They did the same with Iron Man, depending on what he is doing in the scene it might call for a more flexible suit

I thought RoboCable was cool just the fact that he used DUAL Auto 9 (RoboCop's gun) pistols was sweet as hell.

Thought that's really the only "update" they made. Every Robosuit since the original film has been cast from the same molds--that is to say, every single suit has been the one they fitted for Peter Weller. It was hard to notice on Burke in Robocop 3 (he wore it well), but Fletcher (Prime Directives) had a very different body type than Weller--and as a result the suit just hung off him. Looked terrible (also, he was awful).

Wint, who plays Cable, is actually taller than Weller was--so they actually had to extend the midsection of the suit. The fit still looks a little off and I thought it looked awkward on him. Still, looked better on him than Fletcher.

Too bad Prime Directives was vomit-inducing. The gunfights between Cable and Robo made me want to rip my eyes out... and the fists fights were even worse. Clang! Clang! Clang!
