if he didnt have his brain how could he remember ?

why are we even talking about this? without the brain there is no robocop

Yeah but Robocop was just an Android with a face made of flesh. He didn't have any other original body parts.

Poor Robo, caught in the rush for the Jnauary sales.

I see the shot to the head thing as one of the advantages of using Murphy. Imagine (story wise) what part of the brain they could hacve said was damaged. Maybe it made him more compliant like a sort off lobotomy. But enough was in tact to sustain the workings of a body, the CNS was saved pretty much.

Have you read the script? because thats pretty close to what happens in this one.

No I have not read the script, but I saw where he was shot in the first one. Always seemed kinda obvious to me considering how the brain works and what he retains of his old self.

I remember reading a while ago, the face was salvaged to give a more human look. his brain was also used, but thats all that remained of Murphy, the paste he eats is to feed those organic parts, if they removed those parts there would be no robocop and no need for the babyfood paste.

I would love to see detailed diagrams of his body makeup. What goes where, and all that. Like the baby food goes in through a port on his stomach, bu they say all that's left of him is a head so how does digestion take place? Does his human parts use all of the baby food? If so how does it absorb it? How does he get rid of the waste?

Actually, it's more like his brain and the skin from Murphy's face. The skull is completely synthetic.

I don't even think that's really his skin. Didn't he walk through fire or was on fire a few times? You'd think it would get badly burned.

Kind of going off topic here but I flipped through the newest Robocop vs. Terminator TPB at a bookstore from Dynamite Entertainment and boy does it suck big time mostly because it has Robo totally off on his personality and cursing like a sailor. Sure he could've picked up the habit by hanging around humans for so long but still Robocop is always calm and almost rarely loses his temper.

Robocop shouldn't swear unless he's mimicking someone.

Depends. In Prime Directives at the end the Murphy personality comes back in full force, he's essentially Alex again at the end. We never spent enough time with Alex to see if he swears a lot.

Yeah i did read once that the face is totally synthetic, they made it so when he looked in the mirror he would still see something even slightly recognisable, and not totally flip out.

With that idea though i'm not sure why they'd incorporate the bullet wound on his forehead?

bigger pics. you can see some details

I'm a huge fan of the original Robocop and I really like the suit and I think the visor redesign is especially killer. The cycloptic domed visor is the signature design element from the original suit to me and this maintains that while moving it forward. It does look like there is quite a bit of detail in it in these larger pics that was missed in the first leak. I think all black is fine. I have no problem with the color. My only real concern is the look of the material. It should look more like a type of carbon fiber or metal than a rubberized surface. The RC-2000 shoulder pic from the Omnicorp website and the new teaser banner with the logo on what looks to be one of his armor plates seems to show a combination of carbon fiber and metallic surfaces as well as red lighting, so possibly CGI enhancements will be used to achieve this. As far as the story goes I'm cautiously optimistic. I'm glad they're taking a character I love and telling that story in a new way. I don't want a remake of a movie that already exists and is a product of it's time. At worst if this movie is complete crap it will raise the public consciousness about Robocop the character and popularize the original movie. At best it will introduce Robocop to a new generation of fans.
