RoboCop Reboot - Part 2

we do realize that we are looking at spy pics and not how it will appear on screen...we dont know what little cgi flourishes will be added to it

He looks fantastic I think. Everyone has been so quick to judge and declare it as awful and I swear this happens every time we see a costume of any movie during the filming process.

Then those same people start saying "Wow that looks great...blah...blah" when the damn thing comes out.

I don't know whether this movie will be good or not but I'm damn confident with the director and the cast so I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. I especially like how they retained the visor and the chin guard.

This. So. Much.

looks plenty robotic like saint said it reminds me of deuce ex human revolution who has a more sleek modern more cybernetic android approach

Fun fact: Much like Murphy, Adam is shot in the head the repair to that area is visible on his forehead; also, his right arm is salvaged but then removed anyway by his company (along with his legs). Oh, and he's a cop in Detroit.

And then there's this...

I'm digging SWAT mode. It's visually striking, in my opinion. Robocop 4.0 appears sleeker and, most importantly, modern. I'm absolutely loving the visor design too.

i have no problem with the design of the robotics as long as they keep the original color scheme

The Script is apparently a hard PG-13.

Guess that means no toxic waste scene unless there is an unrated version that comes out.:csad: Although I still enjoyed it, making Robocop 3 PG-13 is partly what killed it.

Who says that is a picture of robocop? What if it's alex Murphy in body armor?

i never said it didnt look robotic enough... i said it looks too stereotpyical of robotics... hence the need of the silver

Wait....you say the suit looks too MUCH like stereotypical robotics (I don't see how or why that'd be a bad thing since the same can be said of the original), and your decision is to change the color to silver, which is the predominant color of every other robot/tech piece in existence?

no, im saying it looks similar, because the design is stereotypical. im saying it looks almost every other movie that has robotics looks almost completely identical... the pictures of GI Joe and Iron man kinda prove that... i said before, if you put up a bunch of pictures of robotics and cybernetics, unless you had something on the picture itself that said "Robocop" somewhere, one couldn't tell the difference...

i got no problem with the new design of the cybernetics/robotics/whatever... what i do have a problem with is that it looks identical to everything we have already seen. now, like other people have said before on here, there are supposedly different "modes"... if one of those modes has his famous silver/black color scheme, then great, but until we see that, i have to go by what i see in these spy photos, and from what i see, i dont see anything special about it. i simply see something bland and uninspired

it doesn't look a thing like iron man are people actually saying this?

not any more stereotypical than original did during it's era

then throw that design in with a couple of hundred other robotic designs, and show me someone who can guess that's the new Robocop design...

my point is, without the classic color scheme, it's just another cybernetics movie... give it the classic color scheme we all know and love, and it will look better. i would also personally say to make the silver parts stick out just a little bit more, but that's just my own personal preference

From the set pics, I'm not liking the suit at all. It just doesn't scream RoboCop.

For example, the new costumes from The Amazing Spider-Man or Man of Steel are different from the original but are still recognizable as Spider-Man and Superman costumes.

It looks rubbery ala Batman from The Dark Knight or Snake Eyes from GI JOE.

But, it's just a set picture. We don't know what it will look like in the film. So I'm still very hopeful.

Hopefully, the finished product will be more recognizable as the RoboCop I love.

btw I can't believe we just have one picture of the full suit. Im surprised there aren't a ton... Id like to see it from every angle :D

Here's one without his faceplate.

That's definitely Kinnamen by the way. Just clearing that up as I saw some outlets like /film being confused about this.

Ya, there were naysayers, but I recall the first look at the Joker being overwhelmingly positive on the net. I personally just about **** myself as I saw the first image come into focus. It was a real "holy ****" moment. I was instantly infatuated with it.

Oh, no, the vast majority hated the first Joker pic. I was one of them and we were many back then. Ditto with the first Catwoman still last year.

As of now, I don't hate the suit, but it's just not as visually interesting as the original one, although I do love the head/visor thing and as I'm a sucker of Luke's look in RotJ after Han's rescue, I love the exposed human hand.

I don't care if it looks rubbery, as it's an unofficial still. People are once again making the mistake of judging it too soon and out of context. Fine if you don't like the Robocop 4.0 intimidation mode design (probably won't change), but it will definitely look robotic in the final product we'll actually pay to see.

And I'd like to point out the unfair comparison a poster made by posting a RC set pic opposite to GI Joe and Iron Man official stills.

Also, I don't get the "He looks like a guy in a suit, as opposed to a cyborg" complaint. In the original movies, the only time Murphy looked like he was fused with metal was when he had his helmet off and you could see how the machinery meshed with the back of his skull. Every other single time he was on screen fully... attired, he looked like a guy wearing a suit. Let's see the new guy with his helmt completely off (not visor up) and then we can judge.

i think when they say that he looks like a guy in the suit they mean the legs, arms and foot. it looks like there is no ''axis'' for the shoulder and legs to rotate. it looks like protection armor over a human body.

i dont think it will look like rubber in close ups. its a very brushed metal with a matte car paint look.

So an axis makes the decisive difference? I find that hard to believe. But whatever floats people's boat, I guess.

Hope the right hand isn't left exposed at all times like the set images.
