Since when does whiny fanboys play a factor into what movie studios do?

It could be the worst movie in the world but its way too popular of a franchise for the studio to give up on it. Maybe they think Feburary is the perfect release time just like how March is a prime month for a blockbuster or two now.
Time to start a new trend. March was never anything before 300

One thing I will say is that there seems to be more and more "bigger" films being released every year. And there are months where there is almost zero, or very weak competition. February, and January come to mind the most. If I were a studio with a film that was good but may have troubles going against well known names and super hero films ect, I would take a risk and put it out in a quiet month.
In July.
I was thinking the same thing. Chronicle came to mind. Also, Robocop is not that well known a property to the general public at large and this might give it a better chance.February is starting to overcome its 'only chick flicks do well' stereotype with Shutter Island, Safe House, and Chronicle doing well to great either early in the month or after Valentine's Day. Passion of the Christ was obviously the biggest February opener ($80M+), but it didn't signal to rival studios that big movies can do well during that month.
I think it may take a few years before it dawns on studios that February can be the next 'big' month. I don't think the Robocop remake will be that film that clues movie execs in, but it could be if it's a good movie and marketed properly.

He denied those reports.
Anywho, came across this on Tumblr.
